Mgs4 isnt canon until something comes out after it in the timeline that confrms it

Revengeance doesnt count
Plot Twist: MGS4 was a Patriot AI simulation to predict the results of escalating the war economy. Continue the story in Metal Gear Solid 5: Pachinko Patriots, available on iPhone and Android devices!

Wait a minute

I just realized that if they made a remake of Metal Gear, it would either be called Metal Gear Solid 6 or Metal Gear with a tagline. Why the hell did I say "Metal Gear 6" in my art?

For some reason I doubt that Raiden actually has "those" anymore after the whole "forced cyber-ninja conversion" thing.

Pretty sure the only outright stated homosexual couple are Raikov/Volgin.

I forgot Jack was a nickname for John. Which never made sense to me.

There was one more that made absolutely no sense either, but I forget the name.
He's been:

John
Jack
Naked Snake
Vic Boss
Big Boss
The Legendary Soldier
The Legendary Mercenary
Saladin
The One-Eyed Man
Spoiler
Ishmael
The Man Who Sold the World

So a real quick question. What is the difference between Venom and Punished Snake?

The extra nickname for Punished just seems... very unnecessary. Unless it's like Big Boss and his thousand nicknames like Naked Snake, John, Jack, Saladin, etc.
Venom Snake is his alias, Punished refers to everything he's had being destroyed
Spoiler
In terms of the Big Boss legacy, twice: before the events of TPP and at end of the game.

But yeah, having a nickname for an alias is retarded. John's names all make sense, though: Jack is a nickname for John, Naked Snake was his codename before he was Vic Boss (fake boss), Big Boss (duh), Saladin is a term of endearment that was only used by Sniper Wolf.

Also that "In love with the legend" thing. Ocelot said "he used to be".

Looks like Snake broke his heart, the lady (man) killer.
Spoiler
But he hypnotized himself to forget who the real Big Boss is. It's possible that Venom just doesn't "do it" for him like Jack does, which further lends credence to the fact that it's because of who Big Boss is, not just what he looks, sounds, or acts like.

You think that's bad, watch Kill la Kill.

So much dude ass and mc girl being shown a dudes crotch.
Yeah, I know. The low budget animation had its charm, and it was worth watching once, but I wouldn't watch it again like I have some shows. Ecchi is a huge turn-off for reviewings.

And see, that still doesn't do it justice. I "deeply admire" the craftmanship of Neil Peart, that doesn't mean I'm going to do half of what Ocelot did for Big Boss.

It isn't romantic affection.
It isn't admiration.
It isn't idolatry.

It's deeper than love; he would consider Big Boss to be and extension of his being. That doesn't necessitate fucking sexual attraction, it just means that Jack resonates with him to an immensely powerful extent.
well, trust me

"love" does it even less justice
Yes, but the fact that it's often taken out of context leads to a lot of funny shit.

Besides, there is quite a lot of homoeroticism in MGS games. A Peace Walker mission literally involves going to the beach with Kaz, hanging out in speedos, and making him blush and show a heart emote over and over.

Even in TPP, the prologue shows off Ishmael's asscrack multiple times, panning toward it in the same ways that it does Quiet's ass or breasts.

And I mean, there are only two snakes talking about it. And one of them changed to "Ahab" half and hour ago or so.

I know what "deeper than love" means, Luciana. I was trying to explain where the "Ocelot is Big Bossexual" idea comes from. It's easier to just say that he loves him, just like the DD Soldiers will say about Snake and the Boss occasionally on Motherbase, than to explain the "deeoer than love" situation every time it comes up.
"ocelot deeply admires bb" takes about a half second more to type

Edit: You're getting on me about kisses, yet you're speculating Ocelot is gay because of his admiration for Big Boss.

Come on ~.~
Please point out where I explicitly say that Ocelot is gay.

If anything, old man Ocelot wants Solid Snake anyway, seeing as he kisses him on the cheek in MGS4.
literally BB's clone, albeit with Eva DNA in there.

and
>Kissing someone on the cheek means you want to bone them

I don't know how you think about your Grandma, weirdo.

He sees Naked Snake like Naked Snake saw The Boss.
So the feelings he has for Big Boss are deeper than love? Right.
You do realize when he said deeper than love, he meant she is basically his other half. Even in MGS 4 he said he died the day he killed her.

She was the drive that made him get through his mission, get through training, get through a lot of shit.

Ocelot was the same way in regards to BB.

I don't understand why a lot of you are trying to label left and right anyway. Does everything in life need labels anyway?
Nothing you just said is incompatible with what you responded to.

not to mention, it's creepy and spergy as fuck
I mean, it's very obvious in the games that Ocelot goes to great lengths in his loyalty to Big Boss, more so than any other person in the entire MGS universe. And since it's already been brought up in the last few posts that his relationship mirrors the Naked Snake/Boss one, his feelings most definitely go beyond brotherhood, camaraderie, or even love.

It's never said that he actually lusts after Big Boss or some shit, it's just a shorter and funnier way of saying that Ocelot really fucking loves this Big Boss guy.

Ocelot isn't gay

He's Big Bossexual

Everyone is big bossexual
Spoiler
Zero wasn't, at least until TPP retconned the feud.

I dont think they really retconned anything

Unless i missed something
Spoiler
Up until TPP, we were told that Big Boss was fighting against Zero. then TPP says that Zero fell into a coma in the late 70s (was previously the 90s) and still considered Big Boss his friend, and (to my knowlege) vice versa.

Erm

Mgs4 clearly said that zero thought big boss was his friend until the end

If anything the only thing they retconned was big boss's feelings toward him

And even then they had never really specified those feelings
I do remember now that Zero always had hope that his friends would rejoin him, my bad there.

But the date that Zero entered his coma most definitely changed. But even that you could explain away with "false information".

That doesn't mean he's gay.

ho yay is the worst trope in the universe

"THEY LOOKED AT EACH OTHER!!1 OBVUS SESHAUL TENSHUN!!!!1"
He turns his back on the people who raised him and taught him everything he knows because he couldn't resist the urge of Big Boss. Literally everything in MGS3 is him trying to get Big Boss to like/respect him, then everything after that (chronologically) is him fellating every word BB ever said and trying to carry out his plans postmortem.

I'd be pretty happy if they did a re-imagining of Metal Gear in the Fox Engine that starts a sideplot about
Spoiler
Ahab and Ishmael feuding between Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land.
you made that?
Yes, using the Metal Gear cover artwork as a basis.

I like how it highlights how ridiculous the whole scene is when they replace a woman with a man.
You mean how equally ridiculous the whole scene is.

Thats what I said.

The whole scene ridiculous. Ocelot just highlights it because the wcene was obviously meant to be sexual.
It's only funny with Ocelot because he's wearing clothing. If he was in his snake-print thong, then it would fit amazingly.
