Nice Wikipedia skills. Everybody knows this.
Obviously you don't if you think MGS was a side scroller, or that MGS2 (which was mechanically almost exactly like MGS3) could have borrowed from Splinter Cell.

Quote
MGS games have been borrowing Splinger Cell mechanics for a while.

Again, it's not a bad thing. But recognize that it's happening.
You're right in that there's nothing wrong with borrowing mechanics. Chaos Theory and Pandora Tomorrow are both fantastic games, and some of the best stealth games of all times. But I have yet to see the support for where MGS copies Splinter Cell, and that's where I'm taking issue.

Quote
LOL

Splinter Cell Conviction may not be Chaos Theory, but it was still a damn good game which you can ghost through. So that's bullshit.
I'm not even talking about Conviction. Shit's pretty good.

Double Agent is the game I'm talking about. You know, the Splinter Cell game that wasn't released two years after MGS4. Splinter Cell was in a bad place between 2006 and 2010.

Quote
Gunplay
Stealth
Movement
3rd person
Gunplay - Already present in MGS, MGS2 added the ability to also fire (while stationary) from a first person view. In both MGS2 and MGS3, you cannot shoot and move at the same time. I cannot see any instance in which there is any similarity whatsoever until MGS4, where they added TPS shooting mechanics. Unless you want to say that Splinter Cell invented TPS gunplay, I don't see how you can possibly conclude that MGS got it from that series.

Stealth - Knocking, peeking around corners, crawling, climbing objects, using air ducts and scenery to hide, abd knocking out guards and hiding bodies have all been present since MGS2. I don't remember Splinter Cell having a Survival Menu or octocamo either.

Movement - This is pretty vague. I can't really respond to something if I don't know what you mean.

3rd Person - 3rd Person camera was introduced to fix camera issues with the original version of MGS3, who's maps didn't work effectively with the new camo index system and AI view-distance. The only way that could relate to Splinter Cell is that Splinter Cell has a third person view and is a stealth game. They could have gotten that from any TPS, so saying that it was copied from Splinter Cell is a stretch to say the least.

Sometimes unions are a good thing. A few counties in Tennessee bought extra time before Common Core could be implemented because of the teacher's union. They also help prevent schools from cutting teachers unfairly, the most often being in relation to tenure laws and limits.

At the same time, the 2011 Wisconsin Protests were ridiculous and prevented many willing workers from attending their jobs, efficiently or in general. So really, it's a case-by-case problem. Some unions are necessary, some aren't.
I was in those protests. They were more than justified. You weren't even there.
No, I wasn't. But my aunt and uncle were, who couldn't even get to their fucking jobs because of the protests. And LOL "you weren't even there". That's a Kiyo-tier comeback.

I'd say roughly half the bill was justified in protest, but the reaction was completely insane. Especially considering it got passed anyway.

Response to Chally's post, just saw Flee's post.
>MGS releases in 1998
>Splinter Cell released in 2002

The b8 is pretty strong, Chally.
It was primarily a side scrolling game, and Splinter Cell is nothing like MGS.

MG does start to copy a shit ton of aspects of Splinter Cell gameplay throughout the series.
That would be MG and MG2, the NES games released yeats before MGS. MGS2 was released in 2001. Which (if you're keeping track) is still before Splinter Cell. And MGS3 was basically MGS2 with an added camo system until Subsistence released, which added a different camera mode in response to player complaints with map design in relation to the overhead view.

And Splinter Cell was a shell of its former self by the time MGS4 released, which also plays nothing like Splinter Cell in the first place.

But if you want to continue to say that MGS copied Splinter Cell, I'm sure you wouldn't mind expanding on the reasons why you believe so. Otherwise, pack your memes and

L M A O

I'd be interest in seeing Chally do a compare/contrast of MGS and Splinter Cell. Would that count as a review?

I refuse to believe that BB
Spoiler

Is evil
And he's talking about child soldiers.

Dickish move

But not evil

Spoiler
VSnake isnt a bad guy and he would do the same.
>Creating orphans from warfare
>Train them to fight to wage the next war
>Intent to have perpetual war with soldiers fighting for their own ideologues instead of a common cause

Spoiler
Only reason Vig Boss isn't evil as shit is because of Miller shutting down his ideas, such as training child soldiers. He full and well intended to do evil shit.

That's all part of BB's ideology tho

Like, if those kids werent saved by BB theyd be fighting for country instead

Or be dead

He reckons its better to have a nation where soldiers fight for themselves rather than someone else
In the same sense, then, he's forcing his ideology onto the very children he claims to be saving from governments. At the ens of the day, whether they're fighting for country or personally, they're fighting; whuch has an equal chance of leading to deadness. Instead of deterring war, like the original intention, he intentionally creates war.

I don't see how "make an endless war starting from childhood" isn't evil as shit.

Big Boss in the 50s and 60s was campy as fuck, but his descent does mirror Mad Max's a little bit.

Why doesn't the Xbox use memory cards?... Or does it?
You can use memory cards with the Xbox. They plug into the controller.

Use it to shitpost on 4chan? Alright, if you say so.
don't you have a tumblr or something

also you never explained to me why they use a V instead of a 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spoiler
Three reasons:

1) Venom Snake. "V".
2) 1984 allusions. The Ingsoc emblem is two hands in a red "V".
3) Venom Snake is the "fifth" Snake; 1. Naked Snake, 2. Solid Snake, 3. Liquid Snake, 4. Solidus Snake, 5. Venom Snake.

"V has come to" is a reference to reasons 1) and 3).

MGSV is the only one in the series that uses the roman numeral, though.

which bothers me
There's a reason for that, and it isn't Quiet-tier.

I think "Metal Gear" is suitable enough.
But muh roman numerology as it relates to MGSV

Wait a minute

I just realized that if they made a remake of Metal Gear, it would either be called Metal Gear Solid 6 or Metal Gear with a tagline. Why the hell did I say "Metal Gear 6" in my art?
You dun goofed.

I thought about that while showering. I think if they remade it, I'd go with

Metal Gear: Outer Heaven.
but muh allegory for shadow warfare replacing the need for physical combat, demonstrated between the tense battles waged between Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land while also simultaneously fighting against the Patriots.
