and sniveling human-tier mode

Even Legendary isn't that difficult since most maps have good starting cover and an infinite ammo cabinet.
Was mainly talking about no shields, low jumping, and weaker melee. The things that primarily distinguished ODST's gameplay from Reach.

Serious / Switching Educational Concentration [School of Law]

[Posted in Serious because I want serious answers.]

I realized today that I like history and politics much more than the prospects of EHS. Obvious, being a lawyer works best with those two fields. For those of you who are studying law, what can you tell me about the field in terms of the education experience? I'm very interested in switching my concentration, and since I've only been doing general courses so far, I wouldn't be penalizing myself by changing from STEM. But I would like to hear from other people before I decide to go through with it.

i wish my half-life 2 review blew up like this one did
But half of your thread has absolutely nothing to do with Halo CE, or this review.

If you disagree you like fat balding men in a sexual manner.
1. Reach's Firefight offered both superpowered Spartan mode and sniveling human-tier mode; ODST only offered the latter. Reach's is better for its more diverse options and having matchmaking.

2. Never contended that Emile is a shitty character, just saying that they still could have managed much worse than they did with his character. If they had to make him a tryhard, at least he stayed a tryhard instead of a "last minute change of heart" bullshit.

And a less enjoyable, hand holding experience.
Credit farmers jetpacking across the map spamming fuel rods isn't fun.
ODST's Firefight was an actual survival mode. Only downside was the lack of a matchmaking for it.
>Not playing hardcore firefight

Playing with shields and jetpacks was fun for taking on waves of Covenant and feeling at least evenly matched. Shieldless/sprint only was best for survival.

Consistently stupid.
He lived as a hardass and died as a hardass. I would have been mad if they gave him a heel-face-turn "muh justice" ending or some shit. If they had to make a mediocre story, they made it solidly mediocre.

Motion controls have never worked
Even the Kinect 2 couldn't do it right

You mean Sega SuperStars.

My Reach distaste aside, New Alexandria had a brilliant atmospheric opening.
I remember trying not to get hype when that showed up in the pre-release trailers.

Spoiler
Reach was a 6/10, would have been a 7/10 if the campaign didn't conflict with pre-existing lore so much.
5 at best
Only because Jorge is my waifu

Everything else...
no

If it didn't contradict TFoR and have shit characters besides Jorge, it'd easily be one of the best Halo games.
It offers the best customization and the definitive version of Firefight. I'd say that at least balances out the shitty characters. And the story that they chose didn't need to be a thematic rollercoaster; its "chronicle the final operations on Reach through the view of a Spartan squad" worked adequately.

You have to give credit though, Emile's character was very consistent. The ending to his story was very nice in that sense.

That said, Verb should play Metal Gear Solid. Eventually. He's already got his next few games planned; and since this community spawned from a Halo forum, it only makes sense that he'd do them sooner rather than later. Rest easy that if Verb says he'll play it, he will do so and make a review of it. You just need to be patient about it.

Spoiler
I know this because he's still waiting on me to finish a review from half a year ago. >.>

motion controls are the pinnacle of gaming technology
Skyward Sword sucks too, and it has absolutely nothing to do with "muh Zelda Cycle".

shitty motion controls != motion controls
oh, i was being facetious lol

funny you mention skyward sword, though, because like... that's the only game where i honestly thought the motion controls were, uh...

perfect
no problems whatsoever
Fucking bombs. I don't think I really need to say anything else about it.

I'm not saying to only play the good ones
I'd actually like to see him play them all (even Reach) to see what he thinks, instead of him being told to "not bother because they suck"
The last one was more of a response to Eliab's statement that he wants Verb to play games that are actually good.

It's kind of like playing Big Rigs. You know even before you play it that it's going to be terrible, but it's cool to know why it's so terrible.

Spoiler
Also the New Alexandria level was easily one of my favorite Halo levels of all time.

Look: Verb doesn't have a ton of experience with FPS games for reasons that he explained in the OP. It doesn't matter if Halo 2 is a 6/10 in his final judgement; the point of him playing through games that he "never really gave a chance" is to expand his horizons and allow him to understand where people are coming from when they talk about shit.

Before Half-Life 2, Verb's only possible response to anything related to FPS was "it sucks" because that's all he knew. By playing these games, he can be more accurate in why he thinks something sucks. Also he'll be able to acknowledge the good parts of things too, I guess.

So just saying "only play the good ones" is really missing the point. You can't just expose yourself to the best; seeing what it's like if a mechanic didn't work well, or other additions to the FPS formula hindering or elevating its quality, helps give understanding of why certain gameplay choices continue to persist in gaming.

Isn't that on the Wii?

It's on both Wii and GC.
Is it better on the GC? Which one is the definitive version?
GameCube. Wii had shitty motion controls.

Your lewd mind aside, its propaganda, mistress
Yes, that's what my post said. And you agreed. What's with all the backtalk?

And don't call me that. You're being really indecent.

7461
The whole MIA thing was a wartime meaning of hope thing that was used for morale that has since been abandoned.
Which means that Chief's KIA might just really be an MIA.
It's propaganda to remove him from the picture in favour of the newly minted S-IVs, yes.
If Chief actually dies in the franchise, the end of Halo 6 is more likely than the middle of their planned trilogy.

I thought that might be the case, glad to see I'm not the only one who thought of that.
I want you to put things in my mouth.
Tru please, this is completely off-topic and, quite frankly, too obscene for a family-oriented board. This is neither the time nor place for those kinds of words.

>Snake's Revenge
"After his ironclad plan to rule the world rusted away, crazed Colonel Vermon CaTaffy went psycho. Unfortunately, your two best friends took the brunt of his frenzy and lost their fight to live.
As nutty as ever, CaTaffy has sought asylum from the world's premier bad guy-- Higharolla Kockamamie. Grateful to this 'Rolla Radical, the Colonel has donated the biggest, baddest Ultra-Sheik Nuclear Attack Tank to his fellow madman's world dominating cause.
Now your missions is to not only save Earth, but to inflict revenge. It's a job you'll definitely take personally as you infiltrate a nation of armed lunatics. Blow up a battleship. Hijack a train. Locate dozens of weapons and a truth serum that'll force enemy commanders to spill their guys. Then, destroy Vermon, Higharolla and the Earth Threatening Device with one lethal blow. All this, while staying in radio contact with a foxy spy named Jennifer and a Stealth copter pilot who'll be hovering nearby.
So whaddaya think, Snake-- are you commando enough to handle this Kockamamie scheme?!"

That's the back of the box. The manual is much less accurate than that.

7466
Okay, so Spartans never die, only MIA. If it became public that Mister Chef went rogue (which happens prior to Halp 5, right?), wouldn't it make sense for ONI to cover events after that by just saying "Oh yeah he's dead"?

To be fair, I wouldn't base my analysis of Akuma in Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival on the comics and anime series if I'm just reviewing the contents of the game. If you're just going with Halo CE and no exposure to any other elements of the franchise, it's not silly to assume that the manual is right.

Unless you're playing MG1 or Snake's Revenge.

Alienware is overpriced crap.
A laptop with similar specs from another company will still have a very hefty price tag, though.

It really isn't worth it, tbh.

You have 3 choices
1) Bite the bullet and throw a couple grand at a laptop
2) Buy a cheaper, much weaker laptop
3) Don't buy one
Well that's kind of the point I'm making. An overpriced, 60lb Aliumwear laptop was the closest I could find to running TPP lowest settings 30fps. As in I haven't been able to find any other laptop that minimums a CPU speed of at least 3.1gHz (minimum for TPP is 3.4gHz) since Eliab asked how much one would be.

I'm pretty sure that the laptop would even bottleneck itself looking at the GPU.

It's not a matter of what Lemon wants you to do. He's just letting you know that your choices are either 1) shit, or 2) really fucking expensive.

But I already know that.
I don't think the extent of how expensive a "gaming laptop" can be is understood. An Alienware 18 is the closest I can find to meeting the minimum requirements for TPP (and still falling short on the CPU speed), and the price is $4,650.

Gaming laptops are simply nowhere in the ballpark of being cost-efficient.

Huh? There are laptops that come bundled with TPP worth half that.
And the game will run at 15fps lowest settings on them.
