Because the people saying that to me were not my friends. At all.
Spoiler
Would it make you feel better if I shared my nicknames?

Oh you too.

I actually have occasionally by close friends who I know were just bantering. Still stung a little tbh fam
oh

come to think of it--does it actually bother you being called a weeb?...

because sometimes i get that vibe and i feel bad about it but then i'm like "nah she doesn't mind"
It's a bit irritating tbh, I'm not that unhinged. Just a little eccentric.

It's fine jokingly, but I wouldn't want to be seriously refered to as a weeb.

The largest drawbacks are how it will pave future internet applications and most likely depress local businesses.

If that's what it takes for you to understand why it's objectively a bad Fallout game.
Less people are objecting to you calling it bad, or at least what I'm seeing is that you saying it isn't a Fallout game/RPG.

It's as much Fallout as Skyrim is Elder Scrolls, and as much of an RPG as Skyrim too. I'm predicting a 6/10 at best, possibly a 5/10.
Skyrim was at least handled by Elder Scrolls writers and meshes with what Elder Scrolls is supposed to be.

Bethesda demonstrated with 3 that they genuinely do not understand Fallout. I'd trust any other RPG dev more with Fallout than I would Bethesda at this point.
Judging by concept arts, they seem to be going for more of a Wasteland vibe in FO4. Not saying that's bad, (fallout and wasteland are totally-not-the-same-universe-franchises after all) but it definitely means that they won't be going for franchise themes. It might turn out better that way, like ripping off a bandaid; it's not going to be like Fallout of the past, so they might as well think with a forward mindset.

I do wish Avellone had some part in it though, that would have been a good safety-net.

About as reliable as they are now, generally. And slight retardation would be an IQ of 69. IQ also changes over the course of your life because of developmental factors, so there's a good chance that his IQ is higher by some amount during his adulthood.
Well, okay, but I still think it's a stretch to say that he could have truly grasped the weight of the situation at that point in his life.

There's a reason why the most emotional scene in the movie (for me) is the part where he asks Jenny, "Is he smart, or is he...?"
I'm not denying that he is exceptionally slow, but he isn't actually retarded. He is functionally able to store information and carry out his responsibilities/actions with slight to no handicap.

The point of that line is that Forrest is aware of his impediment, and that it's possible to pass on, not that it is necessarily severe. He also knows what sex is (what it means, and the possible consequences) judging by his reaction to the New Years ladies at Dan's apartment and his college confrontation at Jenny's dorm.

He's not retarded.
He's cutting it pretty damn close, though.
I don't remember it being 79, unless you just now rewatched the movie. I think it was 75.

How reliable were IQ tests in the '50s anyway?

it depends on how intellectually impaired the guy was; they never really say.
When he was tested for acceptance to public school the doctor said he had an IQ of 79, which is not classified as mentally handcapped. He is very dumwitted, but he isn't retarded.

I also think any difficulty below Normal shouldn't exist, to be completely honest.
If that was the case, then people would just make "easy" be "normal", "normal" be "hard", "hard" be "insane", "insane" be "European Extreme", etc.
Fine by me.
What I'm saying is that they'd still be the same difficulty, just with different names.

And the point of having an "easy mode" is for people who are either bad at games or are new to the genre.

Gaming / Re: Hey Verbatim

The only games you shouldn't give a shit about difficulty levels are games like Skyrim, where all it does is give enemies a fuckload of health, and hit hard, but no AI changes.
If Skyrim had combat I'd probably play it on higher difficulty but you just stand there and swing your weapon
fucking hell

i'd love to shred into that game, but i only have it on >PS3, and everybody already knows that vanilla skyrim is a joke
Not only do you have Vanilla, but you also have the worst port of the game.

Extremely strict rehabilitation until he's out of juvenile court, then life-parole and continuous psych-testing/screening for the rest of his life. It sounds like he already was having issues with socially acceptable behavior, but shooting someone is something that even an eleven year-old should know is the wrong thing to do.

Apparently until about a month ago, I had $5 down on Halo 4 at Gamestop. I don't understand why it was still in as a preorder so long after its release, but at least I got to reuse it for other shit.

I post on internet forums more than I talk to people irl. It's gotten to the point that, on the off chance I actually am talking to a friend, they know that "I was talking to someone" means "I was chatting with someone on the internet".
That's nothing to be embarrassed about. I wouldn't even consider it a problem, because it just means that there's more people on the Internet that you'd rather talk to than people offline. That's pretty whatever.
I have more than a few people that I can have stimulating conversation with irl, I just don't talk that much. Unless I'm manic, in which case I don't stop speaking gibberish until I calm down.

If your only argument is that it changed how skills works, then it's no less an RPG than Skyrim is. It is still an RPG, but you can argue based upon the execution of its mechanics how good of an RPG it is.

Honestly, I'm expecting it to be Skyrim-tier with prettier graphics. If it wasn't for settlement building, then I would probably wait until the price dropped to $40 before I bought it.

-43% of UK burglaries took place while the residents were present. Less than 9% of US burglaries take place when residents are present.
But is this because gun ownership deters burglaries, or do burglaries happen in the US at greater rate comparatively to the UK? Both of those could affect the statistic.

Serious / Re: Flee Talks Law: Gun Control

I've never seen why people think "gun control" means "gun ban". Guns are still available to own and use with stricter control, the difference is that it limits the possibility of them being used for malicious purpose.

Update: So my Mother's aunt has actually done a lot of research regarding our family history. We are, in actuality, German.

My ancestors came to the United States during the American Revolution as mercenaries working for the British.

Pretty damn cool.
So you're saying that your great great great great great great grandaddy was killed in his sleep like a bitch on Christmas in the name of FREEDOM?
There were a lot of German mercenaries, from a number of regions. While some were poorly trained, others were effective. Nothing to indicate that they were killed in their sleep. In fact, I'd argue the opposite, seeing as I'm here.
He could have knocked up your  great great great great great granny before he got gutted by Washington and tossed in to the Delaware.
It's more likely that his greater grandpa deserted after the British regulars decided it wasn't worth battling over and went home.

Price is only going down on it, so it's not like a "new" condition is worth anything. I'd go ahead and play it. Expect dungeon crawling and a lot of smirks.

« on: October 05, 2015, 11:05:32 AM »
After a twitter campaign to unlock the announcement on what was previously the SMT IV japanese website, a sequel to SMT IV, named SMT IV: FINAL was confirmed roughly half an hour ago.

What we know is that it's essentially IV-2. Being thag IV paralleled SMT I, some are suspecting that Final may parallel to SMT II.

God damn Hessian fucks
We don't know the exact region in Germany they came from. While most mercenaries were from Hesse there were a fair amount from other areas in Germany.
They were all hated equally.
