Like all of Das's opinions.
Hey, some of this stuff I actually believe.
Yeah, but you keep it interesting by continually making us guess which ones are real.

damn, literally all activity is stuck in this thread's gravitational pull.
It'll probably collapse under its own mass soon enough.

My reasoning on it

If it's a fantasy, keep it a fantasy. Don't ever act out on it, but watch all the videos you want. And please stop trying to bring justice and reasoning into it ._.

It's weird and morally wrong. Just accept it's weird and morally wrong and move about with your fapping day. Not everything we do/like in life has to have some grand reasoning and righteousness behind it.

Petty consent is malleable, it's as severity increases that the need for consent becomes closer to 100%.
How is this determined?
I mean, it's obviously easier to determine with outliers. But that's the beauty of rationality; after building a knowledge of something, it becomes easier and easier to sort grey areas.

Petting is one you brought up. In terms of consent, it's a good example because it doesn't have much severity to it despite the fact that you can't really consent to it. You really have to judge your own standards of when it's okay to bend or break consent to determine that. Most people would say it's okay to pet a dog, but if you come up with a rational that differs, all the power to you.

Why?
Same reason that calling someone "stupid" versus "a fucking cunt who doesn't know their ass from their face and should off themself".

People don't consent to surprise parties, they don't consent to someone initiating conversation with them, they don't consent to others thoughts of them, or even small touches. People touch each others shoulders and the like while talking all the time-- that doesn't mean the person being touched consented, but unless their reaction is so adverse as to flip out, it's a trite example.

Petty consent is malleable, it's as severity increases that the need for consent becomes closer to 100%.
You're using human values of sex and applying to dogs when to dogs it isn't necessarily held as important.
That's because a human is involved in the process. You don't set the bar to the lowest standard here.

Dammit egg you tricked me, I said I wasn't going to talk about the ethics of dog fucking

Is it immoral that I pet my dog because they can't give consent, despite expressing pleasure after I do it?

And then they just come back so I can do it again? Why can't an animal give consent?
I'm pretty sure they're saying that unless it could give human-type consent, any other kind of consent doesn't exist and is invalid as an argument.
I think sex is a great bit different than touching a dog's nose.

I just came in to throw in the point of consent-- not trying to get wrapped up in all of this nonsense. If someone wants me to clarify that point, I'll do so, but I'm not going to explain why I think fucking a dog is wrong.

anybody who thinks it's okay to fuck dogs isn't going to suddenly stop thinking so because someone said so over the Internet
unless you logically demonstrate why it's wrong, which we're in the process of doing
And what I'm saying is if you're the kind of person who thinks fucking dogs is okay

Someone telling them that's crazy isn't exactly a new response.

How is mutual gratification not mutually beneficial?
Same reason a 12 year old can't enter into a sweepstakes without parental supervision. Consent is a big fucking deal; it doesn't matter if both people would perceivably walk away none the worse, the problem is that one party can't understand the ramifications of the situation.

Aria, we just had like 20 pages of this on Bungle
Yeah but I've been sleeping and working all day

It's a silly discussion anyway-- anybody who thinks it's okay to fuck dogs isn't going to suddenly stop thinking so because someone said so over the Internet, and nobody who thinks it's batshit insane to duck dogs I'd going to have their mind changed.

The smartest dogs roughly have the intelligence  level of a two year old. And unless you'd also say that a two year old is fit to give consent, a dog can't consent.
Nice to know that apparently every living creature that reproduces through sexual intercourse is raping each other then.
Yes, that's generally how it works with a vast majority of animals.

It turns out animals are uncultured swine. Who knew?

The smartest dogs roughly have the intelligence  level of a two year old. And unless you'd also say that a two year old is fit to give consent, a dog can't consent.
Different circumstances:

1. A two year old doesn't have sexual desires.
2. A two year old won't actively participate or initiate sex.
3. A two year old could be psychologically traumatized by the event, you'd have to provide evidence that this is also the case for dogs.
1. We're talking about consent. Someone can "consent" to something they don't understand, but that doesn't make it valid.
2. I would hope not. But again, talking about consent here.
3. It'd logically follow that any sort of relations with a being that can't, on their level of intelligence, understand the situation enough to provide consent. Developmentally, it doesn't follow that an animal can consent to relations with humans.

Half the point of self-awareness is realizing things such as our heightened level of thought over other creatures and to use that for good, not taking advantage of the lesser minded.

If they can speak English then the two year old can consent clearly and legally

Pseudophilosophy: the Thread
Yeah, for instances like this, it really doesn't matter if free will or determinism is true; either the criminal did this of his own volition, or he was determined to commit the crime. Either way, he has to be sentenced (because free will or because that would be the pre-determined response).

Because if our actions are dictated to us by fate or something, and we are just set in roles, hen it's the cop's role to arrest the perpetrator, the judge to sentence him, and Big Bubba to use him as an onahole.

« on: October 23, 2015, 02:28:08 PM »
I feel like this discussion doesn't really have anything to do with misogyny anymore tbh.

Let the Verb v. World arguments commence
Well, it's just one of those things where I just have a fundamental disagreement with someone else's values.

You can't believe this, unless you concede this, this, this, and that first.

Once you agree that sexuality is just a filthy product of human psychology that isn't worth celebrating in interactive media, then you can start identifying much easier the ways in which the female body is exploited in video games.

But you can't do that unless you identify why you should hate sexuality first, and that's why these broader subjects crop up. It's necessary to discuss them in order to see where I'm coming from.
Maybe it's just pessimistic thinking on my part, but there's a slim-to-none chance that any of the people you're talking to will concede that. This is going to be 10+ pages of whether sexuality is disgusting or not, then whether humanity should exist or not, then the final solution.

Here, it's legal to not wear a seat belt if you're older than 16 and sitting in the back seat.

Same here; not just a Southern thing. Then again, Michigan is the most southern Northern state.
Michigan will take part in the Second Rise of the South. We'll go for a pincer attack! The Union will never see it coming!

Gaming / Re: Canada's New PM opposes GamerGate

Yeah, I mean, I stopped following Gamergate, like, many months ago, and I'm not even sure if it's necessarily relevant anymore, but I mean... Being opposed to the whole shitshow is a pretty good stance to me.
While there was originally a great point that could have been made about the state of gaming journalism, fucktards and legitimate misogynists turned into a stupid battlecry against women in games (slutshaming, inclusion, the whole shebang).

Since then, even cesspools like /v/ (one of the first perpetrators of Gamergate) tell the activists to fuck off. The idiots ran off to 8chan and decided to spend the rest of their days raiding websites with /pol/ack nonsense.
