And I think most series mentioned don't need to die, but really slow the fuck down. Assassin's Creed would greatly benefit from slowing down to a 3-4 year cycle versus yearly releases.

In which case, it makes more sense to just say the console zeldas, or 3D console zeldas.3D movement and 3D rendering, silly. The former is the difference between 2.5D and 3D gameplay since they both have 3D rendering. Hell, I even went back and Googled "3D Zelda" and it brought me to an interview with Aonuma. http://kotaku.com/5500680/2d-zelda-games-vs-3d-zelda-gameseh, fair enough 6462

The former is the difference between 2.5D and 3D gameplay since they both have 3D rendering. Hell, I even went back and Googled "3D Zelda" and it brought me to an interview with Aonuma. http://kotaku.com/5500680/2d-zelda-games-vs-3d-zelda-gamesi'm confusedThat's a bit pedantic. Two-dimensional gameplay means that your movement options are restricted left-right, whereas 3D uses compass directions (front-right-back-left, with between like front-right and back-left in most games since the 5th gen)That's not what 2.5D means. 2.5D means that it's 3D rendering but gameplay is restricted to a two-dimensional plane. Street Fighter IV is 2.5D; ALBW uses 2.5D and 3D gameplay.all games are restricted to a two-dimensional plane though He seems to define it simply by how the game is rendered; makes sense not to bother with directional inputs since there's never really been a 2.5D Zelda. And I also checked on that; the 2.5D gameplay is literally limited to the wall-painting gimmick. In all other instances it plays 3D. So yeah, 3D game. 6464
Gaming / Re: Series that need to die« on: November 02, 2015, 06:08:42 PM »point being, it's not considered a "3D Zelda" because it uses the top-down perspective rather than the over-the-shoulder perspectiveNever seen it not counted as a 3D. I've seen it excluded from the Zelda cycle because it's a handheld, and people like to only count console games when talking about Zelda for some reason. Probably because it shows that the cycle is a lot of balogna. 6465

You have as much control during 3D segments as you would in Majora's Mask, the only difference is that the camera is overhead instead of behind Link. It's not strictly 2D gameplay though? Many segments are top down from what I remember.yeah, hence 2.5D 6467

The Flood / Re: Does anyone here write stories?« on: November 02, 2015, 04:47:19 PM »
I have a loose string of events planned out, but I've been struggling on how to get from A to B. It's one of those things that gets easier to flesh out with worldbuilding, they end up solving themselves.
Also worldbuilding is more fun. I wrote three pages today on a precursor civilization to that which appears in the game by 3000 some years, involving a few days of real historic research through studies and educational outlets for inspiration and the natural touch for cultural development. 6478
