I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm pretty pumped to play Dark Souls next.
Pretty pumped to give it a 3/10?

why is this even a discussion
If there's one thing I've learned today, it's that discussion is set by the loudest voices and the strongest wills.

It seems popular choice agrees that enforcing the rules is more popular. I can't imagine why.

I don't really care what you buy into. That sauce doesn't differentiate between agnostic and atheist, so it is an irrelevant statistic.
All these mental gymnastics
you're the one performing mental gymnastics here bub.
Not at all. The initial argument here was that atheism is some borderline belief that only exists on the Internet. That's obviously false.
the statistics disagree with you. ive already explained that you are misinterpreting the data. just in case you missed it, ill link this again.

2.4% in america identify as atheist as of 2012 according to this particular poll. the ratio of those who arent affiliated with a religion is 19.6% in 2012 but do not conflate that with atheism.
http://www.pewforum.org/files/2012/10/NonesOnTheRise-full.pdf
Pew Research in 2014 says 3.1%. Regardless, strict athiesm in the US is still a large minority.
yeah obviously the stats differ from poll to poll.
I was more pointing out that the number may have grown since then, but that however much it's changed, numerous studies still show it as a strict minority.

Identifying as an atheist =/= being an atheist

You can't seriously expect me to believe that 97.6% of Americans believe in god.
Not necessarily. A good number of people (22.8%, Pew 2014) are unaffiliated with any specific religion, but may or may not believe in some sort of higher power to any degree.

Personally no, but it depends on who you are and what you want. That kind of commitment requires you to sign away a chunk of your life; you better be prepared to suck it up, come hell or high-water, if you choose to enlist.
Do you know how many years the typical enlistment contract is?
The minimum is eight years.

"Survey participants were asked to answer how familiar they were with anime as a style of animation. Among the five choices of extremely familiar, very familiar, moderately familiar, somewhat familiar, and not at all familiar, only 19.4 percent of the participants said they were not at all familiar with anime. Most of them acknowledged that they were somewhat familiar with anime at 32 percent. In response to another question, 40.8 percent of them said that they still watched anime as adults."

All talk of different stats, no sauce.

And none of these numbers constitute "popular", IMO.
Edited with a source. Not interested in arguing, just throwing out references.

Atheism is popular in communities like ours. Is it popular?
Atheism is very popular in real life.

Less than 1% of people in the world, I reckon.

Less than 15% in the West, I reckon.
Between 2% and 11% worldwide, and about 7% in the US.

First is wikipedia, second is Pew Research .

The former, but the latter is quite important as well. If a moderator can't play nice with the community, then they should opt to post infrequently.

I think of steroids, 7% bodyfat, and cutting when I think of bodybuilding. Aesthetically pleasing isn't always healthy.

Also required "Winy is ripped" post

You need to reshift your view then
Well I mean, if the discussion is using bodybuilding as a frame of reference to say that someone like Winy isn't built, the section of bodybuilding they are referring to isn't healthy.

Those people on podiums don't look half as muscular when they are hydrated and off of drugs.

No seriously. What is a genuine apology to you guys? I don't get it. What do I even have to do?
A couple of well-written paragraphs explaining that you understand precisely that what you did was wrong, while acknowledging all those affected, and that you'll never do it again.

Not posting an image of a cake. That just makes you look glib and insincere.

Because you're glib and insincere.
To add to this, have the maturity to realize that apologizing doesn't reverse whatever you did. People will still be mad. You have to accept that and move on.

Not turn around and do the same exact thing because people didn't start spontaneously explode into puddles of tears left and right with acceptance.

Just slap him with a day or two ban, all he did was spoil a movie. He didn't spam or call out a member or anything
If this was the first time, sure. He just got back from a ban last night after he posted spoilers for the same movie. Punishment should match severity; repeat offenders get longer sentences. How long that sentence should be is at the moderator's discretion.
