1. No monkey paw effects on wishes.
i'm just sitting here trying to think of a way to corrupt this

OT:
the permanent and instantaneous removal of all that exists (of course)
I don't trust wishes from strangers after all the works I've seen about genies and alike. I wouldn't want anything too rich, just the ability to do anything that I want to do within this lifetime. Like writing a large series of novels, creating films, composing large scores, etc.
No, I'm just taking the piss. I'm trying to come up with a monkey's paw effect for the no-monkey's-paw-effect wish.

Like, maybe he takes "monkey's paw" literally, or something. You'd have to word it very carefully.

Now, my wish is worded very carefully such that it couldn't possibly be corrupted.
I could always wish to have no wish exceed or divert from my intended meaning; no effects from my wish that were outside of my intent occuring.

Hell,
Spoiler regarding an S Rank hero
King isn't even a hero, he's only an S Rank because the HA gave him credit for Saitama's work.

Do you think King's luck would somehow counter Saitama's strength? I figure King would somehow survive by sheer coincidence no matter what Saitama hit him with.
I doubt Saitama would punch to kill unless it was required.

King does have Hammerhead-tier blind luck though, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was only hospitalized by a serious punch.

Even in the webcomic, Saitama is S1-tier. The only person that could go toe-to-toe with him (in universe) would be himself.

That's less impressive than it sounds considering most of the other heroes in the story are regular people with some kind of gimmick.
Tornado is pretty OP though, that's clearly obvious. Atomic Samurai, Tank Top Master, etc are also super powerful, gimmick or not. Being a part of the Hero Association isn't even an accurate measurement either, as there are other powerful entities outside it. Hell,

We do have to remember that OPM is first and formost a comedy thay excels at taking the piss out of power-level seinen BS. If ONE ever explains the source or limit of his power, expect it to be very bullshit.

He did explain it. 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and running ten kilometers, every single day for three years. Which actually isn't that intense even in real life, but logic is never a factor in this not-so-serious series.
He only got that power after that, not leading up to it. It's hinted relatively often in the manga that there's more to his power than he realizes.

Regardless, it doesn't matter how he got his powers: that was the point of his hilariously underwhelming backstory of getting it. He's immeasurably strong, and nobody can even put up a decent fight against him. Even the Boros fight was disappointing for him, as Boros knows that he didn't even go all out in his one punch.
He broke his limiter.
There's a theory that every person in the OPM universe was born with a certain limit to their power. Saitama was born to be a nobody, so his limit was very low. Miraculously, he beat Crab Man even though he wasn't supposed to, meaning his power surpassed its destined amount. Since he surpassed his only limit, his power is infinite.

Although that's probably what you're talking about lol
Yeah sorry, I just generalized it the scientist who witness his own creation get destroyed explains how every human has a limiter and that Saitama broke it making his powers infinity and beyond, I need to reread that as well.
(It's great to see people who have read the mangas.)
OPM was actually a rare case where the anime was both well-done and accurate to the manga. Even still, the manga is so fun to read, if only for Murata's illustrations.

What is truth?
bad question
Truth is pretty vague. Such a vague question can only have a vague answer.

People always forget to mention the banana in the morning and shutting down both air conditioning and heating system to toughen yourself up.
"At least" a banana. He stressed the importance of eating three meals a day, even if it's something as little as a banana.

Saitama is kind of ridiculously broken, he's the Japanese Superman Prime.

So I think it would tie between Saitama and Supes.
Sadly, Saitama lacks the ability to fly, he might also have a problem in space.
He could throw his glove and use the subsequent force to propel himself back to Earth. He's also shown the ability to breathe with little to no oxygen, judging by his quick trip to the moon in the Invasion arc.

I've discussed/watched people discuss the Boros battle too many times.
Or he could just jump back to earth, will his serious serious serious punch be able to scratch/hurt superman prime though?
Unknown, he's never used anything more than one serious punch, and that was against the most powerful creature in the known universe.

There's not enough information to give Supes and Saitama anything other than a tie.

1. No monkey paw effects on wishes.
2. Naturally exhibit the effects of NZT-48 (Limitless) with no negative consequences.

And I'd save the third wish for a rainy day.

These debates are so stupid.
Especially when talking about One-Punch Man, given that the entire joke is that he has no ceiling.

The problem with Saitama is that we've never seen his upper limit. He has good feats but he's done them all effortlessly, so it's pure guesswork how strong he is when he's actually trying. We could pretend those feats are his upper limit (though they're obviously not) for sake of argument, but that wouldn't be any more accurate than pulling an upper limit out of our asses.

As of now, he hasn't done anything Post-Crisis Superman couldn't easily do even without a 15,000 year buff, but again, that doesn't really mean much.

His music wasn't for everyone, but he was still one of the best musicians of his time. It's all for the worse that it was cut short.

Sadly, this news is what has made me decide to go out and buy Blackstar as soon as possible.

Something things aren't worth ruining society as a whole to discover
Like what, and in what way would it ruin society?
The question asked if we should sacrifice society for truth; so to that end, the truth itself doesn't necessarily have to be world-ending, just thay chosing it sacrifices society.

I wouldn't sacrifice society to know what brand of toothpaste Bill Clinton uses. Only information vital to the majority of people should be important enough to make that sacrifice for.

It depends on the truth in question. Something things aren't worth ruining society as a whole to discover, others might be.
