DC is darker than Marvel on average (compare Civil War/Secret Empire to Blackest Night/Dark Knight's Metal), but they went from "dark" to "grimdark" without thinking.
Superman is the big blue boy scout, a silver lining in hard times. Despite his own struggles to relate as he became more alien to humanity as he grew, and humanity became more alien to him, he always tries his hardest to embody the ideas of hope for a brighter future.
Snyder's Superman feels 100% inhuman, and is portrayed almost exclusively as a Christ figure. Not to say that the parallel has never been made, but it's a matter of extremes.
Justice League did better than other DCEU movies in getting the feeling right, but suffers from having a cast that isn't fleshed out already (so the movie has to dedicate an unreasonable amount of time towards doing a rush job of it) and large amounts of development problems.

If that's what you think about Gundam 0079, you should watch The Origin. I'm on ep4 out of six and it's been pretty short on action as a whole.
EDIT: Or, hell, Iron Blooded Orphans. It's a departure from the Gundam series, as it doesn't take place in the same continuity (unlike every other Gundam series/OVA/movie released since '79).

Anyway, my most radical belief would be that you should have to pass a test on what you know about the basics of the country you are in to vote
We have The Voting Rights Act of 1965 for a reason; it is extremely easy to take these concepts and create barriers that discriminate against minorities. It sounds really rudimentary, but as far as I see the only way that can't fuck up is encouraging more people to vote and educating the greater populace about identifying credible and reliable sources. It's not perfect, but discouraging voting (or the opposite, mandatory voting) is counterproductive to maintaining a nation that defines itself by its ideas of freedom, where the individual's actions are defined by his or her ability and willingness to act upon them.
