Or it's just a new interpretation of Batman altogether. This Batman was more of a loose-cannon who doesn't operate based off of arbitrary rules. I like that a lot better--Batman's refusal to kill anyone always seemed too hokey to me.
There's wanton murder, and then there's killing when the situation calls for it. If you want to make an omelette, you have to break a few eggs. As far as I noticed, Batman never killed anyone he didn't need to kill.
Batman is an actual psychopath, and usually a hoplophobe. In some continuities, it was revealed that even others think his no-kill rule is excessive, in the sense that he goes to unreasonable lengths to prevent it. He's kind of a reverse-Punisher. Instead of going out of his way to kill every petty-thief and drug dealer, he refuses to kill even mass murders and tyrants. Of course, all of that came out of a change required my the CCA, who didn't allow comic characters to kill for fear of making bad impressions on children.

Fear derived from uncertainty.
You know, that definition says a bit about you.
I'd describe insecurity as something to strive for, since being secure means being certain, thus things aren't challenging. It is the challenges along our lives that elevates us to a higher level, or makes us crumble. Feeling fear means choosing to remain stagnant in fear of crumbling.
Insecure is not secure. Security is certainty, assurance, strong conviction. The most base fear is fear of the unknown. Therefore fear derived from uncertainty is insecurity.
Note that insecurity is necessary, not sufficient. You seemed to gloss over that in your over-analysis.
Oh you are my sacred user on this site.
I will break down what you wrote tom- later on today, after I've slept. Kind of an inconsiderate move on my behalf, but still.
Just thought I'd explain it for you, since you took it a bit out of context. I'd consider myself insecure, but not for the reasons you listed.
Insecurity isn't literal; bouldering, while by definition is "unsecured" doesn't make the climber insecure. In all likelihood, someone who boulders is probably quite secure in their abilities. Insecurity (to slightly fix my previous definition) is to fall to the fear of uncertainty. Security is to overcome it.
"not confident about yourself or your ability to do things well" is in a definition I googled, but you describe the word as if the above leads to fear. Uncertainty to you, if I've understood correctly, is fear. You fear the unknown. Not fearing the unkown is to no longer be insecure, but I say there's another side to the word.
I'd say that the human who attacks the red guy is insecure, but not afraid. He is anxious, and doesn't only doubt his abilities, but he knows that his abilities are inferior. By your definition, him not feeling fear would make him secure, but that doesn't seem to be the case for me. I say you can be insecure, but not feel fear.
I have two comments. The first is that dictionaries are near useless for forming personal definitions. It's a reference guide for societal usage, not ironclad. If you need an example, look up "inflammable". Second, my follow-up post clarified it a bit. It doesn't "lead to fear". It's a form of fear, like achrophobia is a fear of highs.

If not saving someone =/= killing, then why would he save the Joker from certain death? Makes no sense.
Something something Joker is his antithesis

There's killing someone and then there's deliberately refusing to help someone. It's pretty mutually exclusive. So why wouldn't Batman leave the Joker to die by falling off the building in TDK?
If it's so black and white, and he's refused to save his enemies in the past, why save his worst enemy?
Blah blah if you kill them blah you're no better than them blah blah

If this has graphical and hardware upgrades akin to a new level of console, then this is some straight up bullshit
if it's just a Playstation Slim kind of thing then idc
It's supposed to play all PS4 games and video in 4K, but I get the feeling it means "upscale to 4K", not native. Differences would probably amount to 1080p30fps instead of 720p30fps. It's just a Gameboy Color.

They actually just said that genetic abominations were outlawed, which could mean anything. "Never again would such an abomination be created."
It seems like they're referencing something specific, not just genetic modification in general.
But more than likely the Doomsday knockoff we saw is going to stay dead and the real Doomsday is out there somewhere, wandering the universe in search of Brainiac.
He'll have a different appearance and set of powers than the one we saw in BvS Yes, please. I like this idea.
I mean, they already fucked up "The Death of Superman", but y'know... the Flashpoint Paradox/Justice League: War/Injustice storyline is still my hope right now. Which will correct everything.
I still want to see Blackest Night/Brightest Day. It'd take a ton of foreplanning though, which doesn't seem to match DC apparent choice of rushing everything out the door.

Ye. I do think it should have some humor to it, but comic movies don't have to be aimed at a family audience. I thought the amount of humour the movie had was pretty much adequate (however, the quality of the jokes should be much better. The only one I laughed at was "Y'know, with balls like yours... you belong in here.")
I mean really, how many jokes are in Batman's comics? Or Superman's?
I haven't seen the movie yet, so I can't comment. Just telling you what I read from reviews. And Batman tends to make jokes; dark humor, but he does crack one-liners.

That's what I've seen more of, critics saying it should have been more like the Marvel movies.
In what sense? Thematically? The way their overarching narrative was structured?
Mostly criticizing it for being "no fun".
