I mean Death Stranding didn't really show too much gameplay, if any. I doubt it's gonna a walking simulator like everybody was spamming in the twitch chat lmao.
Well it's not just about gameplay. The trailer itself was the most captivating thing I've seen from this E3, easily. As long as you have a unique trailer and not some schlocky seen-it-before nonsense I'm game. I've never played Resident Evil but their trailer was super interesting, too. The Japs just know what they're doing.

Yeah, and I'm sure it'll be good, but I don't care about CGI trailers as they don't do anything for me and thus don't impact the scores I give these conferences.
I don't think of it that way. E3 is something they might not have anything ready for it but they want to let people know they're making the game. It's a good way to build excitement.
If a CGI announcement trailer is all they have at the time, that'll do, imo. Better than just a single title on a screen.
How is that better? They accomplish the same thing.
Personal preference. Visual stimulation. It's just something to watch, regardless of how the game itself turns out.
I will say that it all comes down to execution. Having something animated for the Prime 4 announcement like Samus' visor lighting up before the logo shot (or like what they did for Samus Returns) would have been more hype. Not as hype as just walking across the stage with the title on a piece of cardboard, though.

DMC5 has to be one of the most hype reveals so far tbh. Spiderman looks better every time it's shown. The suspense building up to seeing Leon in the RE2make cinematic was fantastic. Sekiro looked great as well.
I actually liked Ghost of Tsushima. I'd like to see more about it before I would buy it, though.
