Combat is more vertical than Dark Souls. For large enemies, it uses a climbing system similar to that found in Shadow of the Colossus where you actually scale the enemy. Also lots of travel, good thing the scenery is decently scenic.

It's a great game. The combat is something that more RPG's really needed to follow, but sadly didn't. Shadow of Colossus is a game it borrows from and improves upon heavily. If you're a fan of Berserk, it's a massive love letter to it in many ways. The music is amazing, as are the bosses.
The story can be a bit weak (though personally the ending is something I adored), as is the NPC's, but I wouldn't let that take away from it. It's very very fun, and cheap.

Even if you buy the disc you have to sit through a 100gb download before you can play?
I recently rebought halo 5 and had to spend a week downloading 45.5gb worth of title updates, on top of a 45gb install from the disc.
Edit: current consoles make you install games from the disc. A 500gb hard drive is like a 20gb on 360. No plug n'play anymore.
Unless you're buying a 7th gen port, they can be as small as 2gB sometimes.

Phantom menace wasn't that terrible, Darth maul was p cool.
I'd argue it's maybe tied with RotS. It might be a little better, I dunno, I'd have to watch them again. Darth Maul is pretty rad, I will never not think so.
RotS has some crazy pacing issues. Viewings always feel like a slog to me; despite the things that TPM did wrong, at least it feels more brief. Still better than AotC tho

Now, due to the hdd size on PS4, I have to wait for a dozen patches to install every time I want to play a new game or one I had to delete to make room for others. It's ridiculously overcomplicated and drawn out.
It's due to a number of things. Be it the games getting rushed out early for patches, stuff they couldn't make when it hit gold, or community complaints. That and they simply can't' fit everything on one disk as the technology grows.
I already know why they do it lol. Like I said before, understanding why doesn't mean I have to be happy with it.

I miss the days when you just put the disc in the console and the game starts, not this download shit.
This is one of the things that kept me from switching to PC for so long. I hate digital, but console games are basically digital downloads with a physical license checker nowadays.
Consoles these days are PC's without all the bells and whistles of PC's. It's the only way they can keep up (and aren't doing so).
So yeah, you're gonna have to get used to it one way or another.
