And I don't think anybody would argue that the line was out of character, solely the delivery. I don't know why this is being discussed so heavily.

Not to be one of "those" people, but Morrowind did it the best way; the story was built around the fact that you're new to the land and didn't push you down a certain set of quests. You could choose your house and build your name through your choice in adventures, which culminates in the finale. Every playthrough will end with the same few quests, but you don't feel railroaded into it because all of the "main quests" just play out like side quests that tie into your goal. Hell, every quest was related. It kept everything focused and resulted in a stronger overall narrative.
i havent played it but that sounds nice
i feel like i missed out but im not the kind of person to go play old games i didnt experience at the time
If you do ever play it, be warned: it looks like a 3D RPG but it's a D20 game with prettier graphics. Missing and dodges are frustrating if you don't expect them.

When Vader finds out Luke is his son, he doesn't say "Anakin Skywalker has a son", he says "I have a son".
It's also the moment when he starts to open back up to the light, when his persona starts to crumble.
Kylo Ren's character is established on the basis of following his grandfather's footsteps. Kylo used the same reasoning for disassociating from "Ben Solo": he was weak, so he killed him.
But its all an act and lie they tell themselves. Their actions show differently. Anakin is Vader as much as Ben is Kylo.
I wouldn't go as far as Napalm to say that they are two separate characters, but I wouldn't treat Vader like Anakin. He doesn't respond the same way, and in terms of personality he's a different person. It may be a front created to distance themselves from the light, but functionally it works just as well as killing their old lives as long as they stay entrenched.

Yes. We had pledged support to the Soviets before we even realized the extent of the labor camps, and as any victor in a war, we would still demonize our opponents. It would have been no different than WWI, in which the Central Powers were the good guys against the Zionist controlled Entante (why else were French and Russian alliances made aside from Jewish banking interest? Hmmmmmmmmmmm?).
because Wilhelm II shit the bed
But Bismark created the Triple Alliance.
Wouldn't have been a problem if Russian wasn't pissy after the Russo-Japanese War and Wilhelm hadn't dismissed Bismark while dropping the Three Emperors' League and building up his navy.
Participation in the Anglo-German naval arms race was a good thing for the economy and military capabilities.
But not for inter-European relations, which came at a premium post-unification and greatly assisted in bringing about WWI.
>wanting relations with the Muscovites
You work with the materials that you're given; to ignore the stronger option because of pride is foolish.

Second time I switched the audio to Japanese, and I enjoyed it more. 2B's English actress is fine, but I can't stand 9S's actor.
Also noticed that the patterns on the bosses are slightly different, that's cool. Good replayability, will probably play it a third time later tonight.

Platinum is the Ufotable of video games
good but overrated, refusing to go back and work on one of their earlier projects that their hardcore fans really want?
im struggling to think of an adaptation or original work that Ufotable has left unfinished
I wasn't paying attention and made a bad connection; I was describing Type-Moon, but the "good but overrated" bit still applies.

Don't worry potato. Canadian government is the master at procrastinating on plans. Your country'll beat us yet.
Difference is that you'll get an apology while potato's being called a cunt.

A common complaint that I usually have with games in this genre is the terrible or unwieldy camera placement. Not here; it always seems to be at the perfect angle, especially when transitioning through staircases.

There's a documentary series about it called Doom Resurrected. Great watch, made me really appreciate some of the smaller details.

The demo was great; being that it was a demo, of course. Combat felt great, although the gun tended to put it a bit on the easy side. It's almost nonstop action but it stays fresh by constantly changing. At one point it's a hack-and-slash, then it's a sidescroller, then it's a bullet-hell. It's easy to pick up, but there's still room for mastery.
If I ever had doubts about the game, this demo blew them away.

I disagree with the first one entirely tbh. It's not a soft reboot because of whatever mistakes ANH had, it's a soft reboot because it's made 40 years later. It'd be a bit hard to do the Thrawn trilogy nowadays outside of animation. I don't think it's a "do over" at all, it's literally made as a love letter to ANH. TFA recaptures the same energy as it, and that's why it's one of my favorites from the franchise despite some of its weaker moments.
i'm not saying it was made as a do-over--i'm saying it functions very well as a do-over if you so happened to hate ANH
which i did
so for the 3 people in the universe who didn't like the first star wars movie, they can watch the same movie again, but with a modern twist--everything ANH did, TFA did better, but ANH still gets credit for doing them first (however badly)
I guess I get what you're saying, it's more the phrasing that's kind of irking me.

In RotJ, he has this weird mix between contemporary speech and shakespeare.
a fair mix, given the timespan between episode 4 and 6 (four years)
it doesn't seem far-fetched to me that he'd take a level in diplomacy in that timespan--and ANH is as much a coming-of-age story as it is a space opera; so naturally, the end of the story, he's gonna sound more like the adult he's become, but still not full-on shakespeare (or yoda, for that matter)--a mix seems appropriate to me
i wouldn't be shocked if, in episode 8, luke speaks to rey the same way ben spoke to him--alec guinness being about as shakespearian as you can get in a film written for a wide audience
It's more a matter of making sense; Anakin talked like Macbeth because he lived around people who spoke that way. Luke, after Empire (months before RotJ, still speaking like he did in ANH) spent months in a cave on Tattooine. It doesn't come off as "speaking like an adult" so much as "speaking like a different character". Like I said, the movie isn't the weakest of the OT (ESB takes that), but I do have my issues with it. The difference between the flaws in ANH and RotJ for me is that ANH's flaws don't take me out of the movie and RotJ's do.

ANH needed a whole separate movie, a soft reboot made three decades later, to do over everything it failed at
and ANOTHER whole separate movie--made nearly four decades later--to write off one of its biggest flaws
that's how good ANH is
I disagree with the first one entirely tbh. To the second point, I would agree that it's the movie's biggest flaw; that being said, it's the only real major flaw I can think of. You could also argue that the Empire likely never conceived of the issue given the enormous power of the station and the amount of defenses laid out around it. Hell, Luke only makes it to the end of the trench and the shot because of the force. Everybody else either died, pulled out because they were about to die, or missed. The movie definitely tried to make it seem like more of a challenge, but Luke's raw potential overshadows that.
