I wasn't ragging on you by saying that just a little joke. 99% of anime is hot garbage, .7% is just good or different enough to be worth a watch, and the last .3% is so beyond the standards of the industry that calling it "anime" is a bit of an insult. The only reason I enjoy an anime of any sort nowadays is for spectacle (Jojo is just odd, but reasonably so) or the occasional SoL that I can relax to. It's not high-brow media by any means, but sometimes something comes along that's worth watching once.
when you watched hxh, which one was it

Just wondering, if you were to watch an anime that in one episode contains all the things that you hate, would you immediately drop the show or continue on to see if it gets better or not?
imo he'd probably continue just to see if he can find new things to hate about anime
Well, if there's one thing I do like about anime, it's the wide diversity of genre that it offers.
Western cartoons, despite boasting a rainbowed menagerie of different artstyles, are fairly limited in terms of genre—you have children's comedy, and you have adult comedy. Every once in awhile, we're blessed with a show like Avatar, Teen Titans, or Gargoyles that breaks that mold a little bit. Disney is the sole bastion of diversity in all of Western animation, and despite being the greatest animation studio of all time, having more than one (because Dreamworks and Blue Sky kinda suck) would be stellar, because Disney films—especially lately—can be very hit-or-miss.
Meanwhile, Japanese animation has nothing to worry about when it comes to that. That's the best thing about anime.

So I want to get Jojo out of the way next.
Problem is, it's split into two series—there's a 1993 version and a 2012 version.
Normally I'd just watch the 1993 version first, but this time, things are a little fucky—apparently, the 1993 version is based on a later part of the manga, but the 2012 version is based on the very beginning.
So what the hell do I watch first?
The 93 version is good, but 2012 is a much more faithful adaptation as a whole. Each part has a different story and atmosphere as well; Part 1 is KENTAROOOOO fighting vampires, whereas Part 3 (what is in the 1993 OVA) is "Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego" with psychic powers. If you want to be able to shit talk weebs, though, watch 2012. It's more relevant to current discussions of the series.

Saw it on 70mm yesterday. Fantastic movie, especially the first 20 or so minutes. Great use of silence, and the pacing was outstanding.

Days don't actually get longer in the summer and shorter in the winter. They get longer in the winter and shorter in the summer.
Wouldn't that depend on your position on the globe?

Dude was in charge of ME3's MP too if I recal correctly
He was the lead gameplay designer for ME3, primarily the multiplayer (aka the only good thing about that game). He did a solid job on everything I see him credited for; shame he passed.

Getting some more practice in. Face in the reference was a bit more gaunt, the right-hand brow is a bit too heavy, and there are a few shading discrepancies. Overall, much more pleasant result than a couple other studies I've done tonight.

You got the collector's edition didnt you?
How are you liking that artbook?
Haven't been able to buy it yet, unfortunately. I'm having to pay back extra in savings because of some overspending last month, and I'm going to have to buy schoolbooks in the next week or two. As soon as it makes sense to drop $80 on fun stuff, it's mine.

I see Blazblue as a weebier, gayer, shittier version of GuiltyGear.
It is literally impossible to be more weeb than Guilty Gear unless you turn it into a SoL. You also can't call it shittier than "raven tier: the game". At least BB nerfed Mai.

Beautifully animated movie. I single-handedly credit it with making childhood me want malt shakes with chocolate sprinkles.
