Serious / Re: #OscarsSoWhite« on: January 14, 2016, 08:00:15 PM »I'll have to check them out.1. Michael B. Jordan, “Creed”: I'm not too surprised this didn't get him a nomination. It was a good performance but nothing that stands out.I haven't seen most of these (as usual ) but I would have thought Michael B. Jordan's performance in Creed was at least good enough for some sort of acknowledgement. I think it's a little bit dishonest to say it's not a stand out performance, because it is, especially in the face of this abomination. Talk about a career save 756

The Flood / Re: Got my hands on the new P@TD album« on: January 14, 2016, 07:24:57 PM »
I always thought they sounded more like Fall Out Boy than a non-FOB band should sound like. Especially their singer.
It wouldn't surprise me if P@TD were really just stand-ins for an FOB side-project. Somewhat like The Network and Green Day. 759

Talk about a career save IIRC the reason only Sly edged in for Best Supporting Actor was that the studio really didn't campaign for Creed for the awards season--they weren't expecting to have a legitimately good movie on their hands. That, and the awards season tends to favor the older folks anyway, I'm pretty sure. But either way, it's hardly over for Jordan or director Ryan Coogler. Between Creed and Fruitvale Station, it's obvious they're going places. (Next stop for Coogler is Marvel's Black Panther movie.) They'll have plenty of opportunities in their future, and the studios aren't going to make the same mistake twice. 760

Just because it's some design you don't enjoy, doesn't make it a flaw. It's called a risk reward factor, and everyone who actually plays the game enjoys that. It's a flaw. There's no logical reason to enjoy something like that. It's textbook bad game design. 773

I remember using a double purple-bladed lightsaber back in KOTOR. I'd say the name wrong just to emphasize how ridiculous I thought it was.
I always thought Galen Marek had a pretty cool saber in the first game. (I'd use pretty much any hilt from those games.) Ahsoka's hilt isn't too bad, either. Spoiler Spoiler 778
Serious / Re: Does Snopes.com have a political lean« on: January 12, 2016, 08:57:49 AM »That's awfully convenient that snopes doesn't have to be held to any standards,I never said anything of the sort. Quote and you've got no grounds to claim that the entirety of the video is bullshit.Excuse me, didn't you just accuse an entire Snopes article of being bullshit? Hey, I'm not the one claiming that refugees are violent. I don't have to prove anything, and I'm sure as hell not going to waste hours of my life debunking 20 minutes of Facebook clickbait. Considering it's from the Internet (8chan), anything it claims should be taken with a grain of salt. Quote The video doesn't make any claims though, it's literally a compilation of videos of events that happened. The very title of the article snopes debunks is "This Is The Most Disturbing Muslim 'Refugee' Video You Will Ever See." The official title is "With Gates Wide Open." It literally makes the claim that Muslim refugees are committing all of these acts. 779

The Flood / Re: Who would win?« on: January 11, 2016, 07:05:02 PM »Sorry animu fans, but superman prime could just make it so that these adversaries never actually existed in the first place.Ea tho Quote The sword itself is nameless, and it is described by Shirou as "the only sword that does not exist in this world." It is something that does not appear in any modern legends, crystallized during the Age of Gods at the beginning of the world. It is the primordial sword that is the actualization of the works of a god recorded before humanity came into being, and it is that which divided the formless into a distinct heaven and earth in ancient Mesopotamia. It is a divine construct created by a god unable to be replicated by Unlimited Blade Works, and its status as a unique existence means it cannot be reproduced in any way. Quote Gilgamesh claims that the sword "knows the truth" of the world where it once existed, and by using its power, it is able to bestow its knowledge upon others. As it is "The Sword That Cut the World Apart", he calls it “something that knows the hellish planet before genesis”, the planet's primordial form before heaven and earth were split, that was a land filled with naught but lava and gas and a hell of scorching heat and intense cold. Referring to it as hell, Gilgamesh states that it is source of all legends of lands of the dead. The memory of the time before the existence of the planet, a place and time when organic existence had been impossible, is something possessed by all organisms, but it is no longer found in the imaginations or spoken memories of people. It is the first memory of life that is a genetically inherent and repressed knowledge which can only be shown to those looking upon the sword.Too bad Gil is too much of an arrogant prick to actually use it before he gets shrekt. |
