Climate change has been happening before humans even industrialized. Ever hear of the Medieval Warm Age and Little Ice Age?
Ever heard of carbon dioxide and how it's a heat trapping gas? Ever hear about the fact that the majority of our technology emits carbon dioxide?

Seriously, you have to actually wilfully try to deny anthropogenic climate change. Fuck. Turn your fucking brain on.
I'm not denying climate change exists, I'm questioning that history and science has shown multiple times in the past that change in the environment is natural. A study conducted in 2003 showed that temperatures 1000-1100 AD are comparable to the temperatures from 1900-1990. Rising CO2 levels are a result of global warming, not a cause of it. As temperatures increase, CO2 is released from "carbon sinks" such as the oceans or the Arctic tundra.  Measurements of ice core samples show that over the last four climactic cycles (past 240,000 years) periods of global warming preceded global increases in CO2. Human releases of CO2 cannot cause climate change as any increases in CO2 are eventually balanced by nature. CO2 gets absorbed by oceans, forests, and other "carbon sinks" that increase their biological activity to absorb excess CO2 from the atmosphere. 50% of the CO2 released by the burning of fossil fuels and other human activities, has already been absorbed

It took me like 20 minutes to gather everything that was wrong with the sources in your response. I'm not sure how many of these were published in what could be considered a peer-reviewed journal. Consider this post the short response:

Quote
Arthur Brouhard "Art" Robinson (born March 24, 1942[1]) is an American biochemist, politician and member of the Republican Party from the U.S. State of Oregon.

For the papers referencing Soon and/or Baliunas, see here.

Anders Moberg is primarily a businessman, so there's obviously a potential conflict of interest.

Timothy Ball was funded by Friends of Science which he founded, and the Natural Resources Stewardship Project, both of which oppose the idea of climate change.

The paper published by the US Senate Minority Environment and Public Works Committee was written by Jim Inhofe, a notorious climate change denier in the Senate:
Quote
Since 2003, when he was first elected Chair of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, Inhofe has been the foremost Republican promoting arguments for climate change denial in the global warming controversy. He famously said in the Senate that global warming is a hoax, has invited contrarians to testify in Committee hearings, and spread his views both via the Committee website run by Marc Morano, and through his access to conservative media such as Fox News.

The only paper that seemed to have any semblance of validity was Caillon and Severinghaus.

I'll take either one EXCEPT Hillary Clinton.

Marco Rubio never met an opportunity he couldn't botch.
I've seen him perform better than most other politicians when it comes to interviews and conversations. The only one I know of which really was botched was the 2013 SotU response.
Immigration reform? Government shutdown (being overshadowed by Ted Cruz)? The since-aborted 'Obamacare bailout' plan?

At least I can identify with Mitt Romney's social awkwardness. .

That kid wasn't awkward.. Unbreaking eye contact is:

Secret 2: Sociopaths sustain eye contact
Have you ever met someone that unflinchingly maintains eye contact with you? That no matter how many times you look away or glance down, they sustain direct eye contact with you? M.E. Thomas describes this as a ‘predator stare’ and states that most sociopaths exhibit this trait.
Often this stare can make the sociopath come across as arrogant, aggressive or seductive. Realistically however, this is an unintentional behavior and while it might unnerve others is not something they do deliberately. It’s just how they interact. Perhaps because their emotional cues aren’t as developed or because they simply don’t care about making others feel uncomfortable, this sustained eye contact quickly becomes one of their calling cards.
You don't need to convince me because I don't need convincing. This is Mitt Romney we're talking about. And he's still a better candidate than Rubio.

« on: January 28, 2015, 05:18:01 PM »
I didn't vaccinate my son. This really doesn't effect me one way or another because I plan on private school.

But Why not let unvaccinated kids in schools? It's not like the vaccinated kids can catch any diseases right? They are vaccinated after all.
So you're just going to...hope your kid doesn't get a terrible disease that people shouldn't be getting in 2015? By not vaccinating your child, you're endangering the health and the life of children who can't get vaccinated.

Yep, I'm just going to hope. So far, so good.
I genuinely hope you end up vaccinating your child. That's a very dangerous gamble to make.

I doubt I will.

Noone is getting friggin Hep B or Polio these days. Theres no point for the potential risks that vaccinations bring.
Do you know why nobody is getting polio these days?

It's because it was eradicated by the rise of immunizations. Jesus Christ, man.

So its gone?

Why would I make my son get a useless vaccination if its gone.
To make sure it stays gone.

Gaming / Re: How would YOU finish off a trilogy?
« on: January 28, 2015, 03:59:22 PM »
Sometimes they run out of ideas or simply lose interest.

Sometimes they didn't even plan for a threequel--Halo and Pokemon were supposed to end after the first sequels. For Pokemon, Gold and Silver were to coincide with the end of the anime and it's partly why that game had two regions instead of one. For Halo, the original ending wasn't even finished. Both turned out to be so profitable that there was simply no way the series would end there.

And usually it's tough to keep around the same people you had for the previous games. For Mass Effect 3, Drew Karpyshyn left; Modern Warfare 3, Infinity Ward lost many key staffers including Jason West and Vince Zampella; Assassin's Creed 3, Jade Raymond, Patrice Désilets, and Jesper Kyd were absent.

Similar thing with movies: Return of the Jedi lost Gary Kurtz; X-Men: The Last Stand lost Bryan Singer.

So what would be the fix? Planning for 3 games? Because games that plan for success is something we all look forward to.

Or just not make trilogies? I seem to remember a company that does that...
I don't know. It's tough to plan that far ahead for sequels and people can just lose interest or their life circumstances could change >.>

Two parts would seem more logical I guess, and certainly easier to pull off, but for some reason there's the expectation of three parts, not two.

So having said all of that, it's probably just inevitable that threequels never live up to expectations ;_; There's so much that can happen over a few years that it's probably impossible to avoid disappointing some people. I would finish a trilogy by having non-human entities create the trilogy in the first place >.>

The Flood / Re: Crude humor and a Cringe humor are just not my thing.
« on: January 28, 2015, 02:30:12 PM »
I've been watching a lot of stuff on Netflix while completing my Pokédex in ORAS and I have found that I can't get through crude humor movies and a lot of cringe/awkward humor comedies. Anytime something becomes cringe-worthy I have to move to something else. Also Star-Trek is really the only good thing on Netflix.

Anyone have similar experiences with Cringe/Crude Humor?

Also after I'm done with DS9 what else can I watch on Netflix? I can't seem to find anything good.
I know ORAS is the thing now but I'm actually working towards completing the Dex in Emerald so I can get a Johto starter >_>

Leave no Poke behind! (Aside from the unreleased event ones ;_;)
I last completed the Dex in Emerald and wanted to complete it again in ORAS so I spent the past week playing Y, ORAS, Black, White and a whole bunch of games catching Pokemon while trying to watch something on Netflix. I tried to watch "The Interview" which got mediocre reviews and for a reason; The Interview is a pretty bad movie. It couldn't hold my divided attention while catching Pokemon which means that it couldn't possibly hold my attention when watching it without distractions.

I would say I could help you out but I forgot that the GBA games didn't have Wifi options but only wireless multiplayer. I remember hacking in some Pokemon that weren't obtainable (Mostly Johto stuff)(My friend had an Action Replay) to get them but almost everything I had was legit. Around Diamond and Pearl I cheated and got a whole bunch of stuff and ended up just releasing almost all of them. I then transfered some of the hacked stuff to ORAS in which I ended up wonder trading of about 2 boxes of hacked pokemon that I didn't want because they were so obviously hacked.
Oh, I borrowed my cousin's Gale of Darkness so I could get a friggin' Lunatone. And I'll need to reset my Ruby version for the final Hoenn starter (Mudkip). I planned it out before I committed to it so I'm all set, although it would be humongously helpful to have someone to trade with. There's always sending the cartridge in the mail...

Thanks for the offer, though >.>

Oh and sorry for derailing this again  :P
