Gaming / Re: The Sep7agon Game Night Megathread! (Updated the OP, take a look)« on: August 31, 2015, 08:06:56 AM »
Halo Reach game night is in less than a week, BC2 game night has been rescheduled for September 6 @6pm EST. I can't recall a time I've had two game nights on the same weekend, so here's hoping we get a decent turnout.
Starting with BC2, game nights will be on Sundays by default because that allows more freedom to start at a time more convenient to some of our users. Thanks to Chally and BaconShelf for bringing this issue to light. 2620

I'm down, I've played with some people on bnet but I have yet to play with you guys. Should be an interesting experience. We usually end up doing Forge World nonsense because we're garbage at matchmaking (although we're pretty good at Halo 4). I could try digging around for a Gold trial. Failing that, ask someone else >.> I just checked my schedule. I have class early in the morning for that day but that's it. I'll be on by the time this starts. 2621
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 31, 2015, 07:54:45 AM »1) I can't speak for other rules (this is a Bungie offsite, after all), but the spoiler rules were absolutely not "practically copy and pasted" from anywhere. He's the most qualified (a journalism major IIRC) and he's been doing it for the longest time consecutively. We're not going to fix what isn't broken.Literally anybody here could write the rules. They're practically copy and pasted anyway. 2) Only for you, Chally :^) Oh, and please don't derail, Psy's already warned once. 2622
Gaming / Re: I'm convinced Solid Snake is gay« on: August 31, 2015, 07:35:20 AM »
This reminds me of this one theory I'd heard of a while ago (the post no longer exists >.>) where the guy argued that Solid Snake doesn't have a dick, and that he's modeled as such.
Spoiler Needless to say, people got butt-blasted, because of course they did. 2624

Gaming / Re: "Gatsby sent us to hell, but we're going even deeper." | 2 Days Remain« on: August 30, 2015, 10:50:56 PM »Okay, I meant to type this up last night but I wasn't awake enough to be coherent. I'll try this again while I still have the energy. If you've gone dark already, all the better. That's the worst It's going to be a 'look on the bright side' thing, but please hear me out, lol Sure, it's a spoiler, but I'm sure there's at least a few more in TPP that haven't been spoiled for you yet. I like to think of my MGS1 experience so far--I already know at least the major plot twist at the end, and a bunch of lesser ones, including that MGS1 spoiler Liquid and Solid Snake are brothers and clones of Big Boss, and Psycho Mantis switches up the controller ports. Now, that's kind of a big deal. I know how it ends, but there's a lot of smaller, pleasant surprises that I didn't see coming: Spoiler Anderson and Baker both die randomly and suspiciously, Meryl breaks out of her cell and holds Snake at gunpoint, Meryl's radio frequency is on the back of the game case, giant tank out of nowhere, Gray Fox cuts off Ocelot's hand out of nowhere, among other things. While the big plot twist is spoiled for me, the journey there is still pretty enjoyable regardless Science may be on my side here, too, that spoilers don't necessarily ruin the experience. Considering MGSV is supposedly a 50-hour game, I'm sure there'll be plenty of unspoiled moments you'll find out for yourself--especially the ending, which may be the most important part. Just, please, don't let this one event ruin your whole experience! Enjoy the game like Kojima-san wants you to! Maybe I'm just too accepting of spoilers at this point, though. I've been a bit desensitized by Smash Bros. 4 leaks, as early as a year ahead of the game's launch. It was a bit of a bummer seeing a leaked roster considering Nintendo's hype campaign for the game was based around drips of carefully timed announcements. But there were still surprises to be had, like an entire boss nobody saw coming. The game still gave off that sort of giddy 'new game' feeling despite the leaks, at least because there's a bunch of things that don't really get 'spoiled' per se, like menus, music, custom moves, and the overall atmosphere of the game. You can watch gameplay, but you can't feel that experience till you try it. And that's the most important thing, really. Even if it's not the experience you initially wanted, you'll still probably enjoy it if you take a few deep breaths (figuratively or literally, whichever works) and give it a chance. ...alright, hopefully I made some sense. Don't let this spoiler-gate thing ruin your whole MGSV experience, because you'll be doing yourself a disservice. >.> Try to enjoy the game for your own sake. *whew* I'm sleepy now, hopefully that helps when/if you read it. 2635
