I'll definitely be able to make it. Just remind me on Skype though if you have the time.
Great. Sorry for the BC2 date screw up. Actually, if we could start a little earlier, that would be great.
You're welcome to start getting people together and playing (the ones from this thread take first priority, because it may become a full lobby) but the earliest I'll be able to get online is at 8pm. I'll be late tonight since I have to pick my brother up from the train station, but I'll be on as soon as I'm able.
Noted. Take your time.

Going to a party, so I might bring company.
noice You know, I might actually host an MCC one this Sunday.
If anyone cares.
Neat, make sure you start a thread about it, or you can just ask to hijack this one >.>

response to your spoiler It really doesn't ramp up later on?
Response to your response to my spoiler Unfortunately, no. Unless you play the extra ops that purposefully make the game harder, (like Naked, Extreme, Perfect stealth, etc.) it's pretty fucking easy.
Also, unless there's skulls. They ramp up the difficulty sometimes.

Response to your response to my response to your spoiler Well, that's a bit disappointing :/ I've realized I can just plant a C4 in my approach and detonate it in a tight spot to distract them (and/or destroy their comms all at once) and make a clean getaway. Although I hear they catch on if you do the same stuff over and over again... Whenever you get caught by a guard, everything around you slows down. You can then kill them before they can alert anything else. Reminds me of Fallout 3's VATS. A bullshit mechanic that I hate, but everyone else seems to love it.
Yeah, I avoided using that, too.
FYI, I believe there's an option to turn it off like there was in GZ, in case you didn't know.

I want to get a 4K TV for my new room that I'll have when I move from Salinas to Stockton. >.>
Meh, I have no interest in 4K TVs right now, tbh Rescuing Miller was disappointingly easy. Actually, all of the missions I've been doing are pretty easy, especially in comparison to Ground Zeroes.
Expectation Spoilers Unfortunately, that's the way it is all the way through.
The only times it gets difficult is against some of the harder enemies, but that's not stealth. If you want to make it harder, try going in naked. No weapons or equipment, all OSP. I just tried one of the missions like that and fuck is it tough.
Also take off reflex mode.
Yeah, this game is a bit easy so far. response to your spoiler It really doesn't ramp up later on? On an unrelated note, this game looks excellent on max settings and runs phenomenally well, too. The only issue I've had is with the video cutscenes (I've had two so far) stuttering like mad, which I'm hoping that gets fixed in a patch. Otherwise, my only complaint is that the draw distance isn't as far as I would like it to be.

Apparently TPP's collector's edition mentions stuff about a cut mission that was kind of huge to the plot.
I haven't read the article yet, because I just started playing yesterday >.> Time to go reassign more plebs to R&D.
I also bought an Xbone controller to use on my PC, yesterday. It felt odd at first but I adjusted to it and forgot about it completely. The bumpers are more reliable when holding them down, the triggers aren't squeaky, the D-Pad has more of a 'click' to it, and the control sticks are less resistant and less "sticky," especially from the neutral position. And, finally, that awful battery pack is tucked nicely out of the way this time. The overall quality of the controller, from the buttons to the plastic and the rubber, feels dramatically better than my super-good condition 360 controller I'm using for comparison (and my other controllers with worn-down control sticks).
It's difficult to fathom how anybody could improve this much upon something already so close to perfection :3
The only thing that feels off is the rumble. It feels a bit weak, and I don't know if I'm imagining things, but I think it was making a sort of squeaky noise. I'll have to try it out some more to confirm.
But does it have 80hr battery life?! #WiiUProControllerMustardRice
Well, it's plugged into my PC, so it's not using any batteries whatsoever.
But can you move farther away from your PC? :^3
I would have it plugged into a TV if I had it my way

Why can the Covenant speak English, and why do they? Especially during battle?
IIRC in Halos 2 & 3 the explanation was real-time translation provided by Chief's suit. In Halo 5 it's apparently to show that Jul M'dama is losing grip of his forces and they're protesting him by speaking the humans' language.
But I don't think that explains the aliens simply lacking the physiology to speak English. (Four mouth flaps with teeth doesn't seem practical in any universe, but it's better to not think about these things >.>)
Some Sangheili can speak English, and do so by pressing their mandibles together to form "lips". The Arbiter is one example, I believe Jul M'dama is another.
Neat, I didn't think of that. ...But wait, do they have tongues?

I'm confused. Does she work for the county or is this a private business? Because if it's the latter then it is indeed, an infringement of religious liberty.
The former.

McDonald's is usually gross (do not EVER go to one off a highway unless you want to play 'count the flies') but their breakfast is actually decent at the right locations.

Yup, it sure seems to be going that way. My biggest damper on the Avengers 3 hype train is that people will have stopped caring while Marvel will be out of ideas by then.

Kentucky marriage clerk Kim Davis opposes gay marriage and decided to stop giving out marriage licenses to anybody in protest, presumably because she believes in the sanctity of marriage. The Supreme Court turned down her appeal after a federal judge ordered her to return to issuing marriage licenses. She refused, and today she was found to be in contempt of court and ordered to serve time in jail until she complies. ArticleKim Davis Ordered Jailed in Kentucky Gay Marriage Dispute
By ALAN BLINDER SEPT. 3, 2015 ASHLAND, Ky. — A federal judge here on Thursday ordered a Kentucky clerk jailed for contempt of court because of her refusal to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
The clerk, Kim Davis of Rowan County, was ordered incarcerated after a hearing here before Judge David L. Bunning of Federal District Court. The contempt finding was another legal defeat for Ms. Davis, who has argued that she should not be forced to issue licenses that conflict with her religious beliefs.
“The court cannot condone the willful disobedience of its lawfully issued order,” Judge Bunning said. “If you give people the opportunity to choose which orders they follow, that’s what potentially causes problems.”
Judge Bunning said Ms. Davis would be released once she agreed to comply with his order and issue the marriage licenses.
On Monday, the Supreme Court turned down Ms. Davis’s appeal of an Aug. 12 ruling by Judge Bunning directing her to issue marriage licenses. The justices’ decision was expected to clear the way for same-sex marriages in Rowan County. But on Tuesday, the clerk and her employees again refused to issue licenses in Morehead, the seat of Rowan County.
Within hours lawyers for the couples who had initially sued Ms. Davis asked Judge Bunning to hold her in contempt. “Because Davis cannot show either that she is unable to comply with the Aug. 12, 2015, order or that she has taken all reasonable steps to comply,” the lawyers wrote, “this court is left with no choice but to hold her in contempt.”
The lawyers, who argued that Ms. Davis “continues to collect compensation from the Commonwealth for duties she fails to perform,” asked Judge Bunning to fine the clerk, but not to jail her.
On Wednesday, when Ms. Davis again turned down a gay couple’s request for a license, the clerk’s lawyers argued that she should not be held in contempt, in part because it would breach her right to due process. They asked Judge Bunning to grant an injunction pending another appeal.
Supporters and opponents of Ms. Davis gathered outside the federal courthouse here hours before she was due to appear. One man waved a rainbow flag — a symbol of the gay rights movement — while another clutched a flag that said, “Liberty.”
“We’re supporters of the rule of the law,” said David Wills, a computer programmer from West Virginia who was first in line and said he had arrived at 4 a.m. for a hearing scheduled to begin seven hours later. “It’s just really important to me that people be treated equally, fairly.”
Ms. Davis’s supporters, prepared with an ice chest filled with water, also gathered ahead of a hearing they called critical to protecting religious liberty in Kentucky and elsewhere.
“They’re taking rights away from Christians,” Danny Kinder, a 73-year-old retiree from Morehead, said of the courts. “They’ve overstepped their bounds.”
He declined to predict the outcome of Thursday’s hearing and what would happen to Ms. Davis.
“I’ve been praying about it, and we just have to turn it over to the Lord,” he said. “She has got to stand for what she believes, and I have to stand for what I believe, and I’m behind her 100 percent.” Discuss.
