More women opting for preventive mastectomy - but should they be?
Rates of women who are opting for preventive mastectomies, such as Angeline Jolie, have increased by an estimated 50 percent in recent years, experts say. But many doctors are puzzled because the operation doesn't carry a 100 percent guarantee, it's major surgery -- and women have other options, from a once-a-day pill to careful monitoring.

Are people who are prescribed antidepressants pathetic?
No. Unless you abuse your prescription to get high.

Then you're the lowest of the low, as far as I'm concerned.
But antidepressants are mind altering drugs. How could they possibly be acceptable?

cannabis enhances this experience for me and makes it much more enjoyable.
It shouldn't. The fact that it does is pathetic. The fact that you need it just to enhance an experience that you enjoy is fucking loathsome.

It was a dumbfuck piece of shit post that deserved nothing more than complete dismissal.

i started smoking at the end of my senior year, and over the summer, my friends and i would smoke multiple times a day every day. now in uni, i smoke probably 2-3 times per week (usually on the weekends and once in the middle of the week, if at all), and i'm having no trouble at all keeping up with my school work and participating in the few clubs that i joined.

from my experience so far, this is spot on.

What I observed in high school was people continued down the same path they were on before smoking.  There were the people who were responsible and consistent who kept that up after they started smoking and still got good grades and went to college.  Then there was the class clowns who just let weed control them, blowing off friends and lying just to smoke.  They were gonna be losers before weed.

The Flood / Re: What will you tell your kids about Santa?
« on: September 21, 2015, 10:15:31 PM »
Christmas morning was always so much more magical for me when I believed in Santa. My parents and I would put out milk and cookies, carrots for the reindeer, and some years I'd try and set traps to catch Santa in the act.

So fuck yeah, I want my kids to feel that same magic.
