soooooooo, it turns out that characters cannot be purchased with the in-game currency.
you have to pay real money for them (350 fighter coins = $7 + tax).
pretty fucking outrageous, honestly, and i definitely won't be partaking. i'll wait for them to potentially add other ways of obtaining fighter coins, or just live with having an incomplete roster i guess. which is gonna fucking suck, but oh well. really wish they didn't take this route, very disappointing
I saw that not only is it in-game Capcombucks, but also the character costs 400FC or some shit and the smallest amount you can buy is 350FC. Also someone told me there are "Rental Fighter Tickets" you can use to "rent" a DLC fighter for 24 hours lmao This is why I don't buy fighting games at launch since SFV.

If they have an in-game currency you can grind for I may buy it early, but also if Zangief is the worst character in the game, and from the info I've gathered he is, I won't be making a purchase at any point just to slug it out with a bottom tier.

if you think SF6 looks like it's in early access now, you should've seen SF5 at launch >1/3rd of its roster that it's going to charge you $30 annually for 3-4 years to complete >going to get years of balance changes and updates >going to have entire gameplay features still to be added Yes, it and every fighting game now launch as Early Access titles, they just don't put that tag on them for whatever reason. It is in an unfinished state. I bought SFV at launch and it's one of the reasons I will never buy Early Access fighters again like this. Every subsequent fighter I've waited for the complete game to launch and bought it then.

I've played a couple of the older KoF games. I rocked with Heidern, King, and Billy Kane. They're pretty cool games, but having to learn three characters is definitely a barrier. I have a hard enough time learning just one character.
Yeah KOF's crew battle format isn't like tag fighters like DBFZ or MVC where you learn three characters but the characters are fairly shallow by comparison and so three of them amount to one "character" as a team. KOF has your team of three full-ass characters to learn. I like that more than the tag fighters format honestly though. Feels more like you can make a comeback that way when you're down to your last character but that character has real depth.

Cummy tho. The new artstyle still doesn't look great to me. I've seen someone say it looks like high quality Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game and that's actually spot on.
