The 343 Industries era of Halo has gone on longer than the Bungie era did, remember that.
This is a certified father time moment

If I remember correctly her profile avatar was the purple haired protagonist from BUNGiE's "Oni" game (I never played it)

Seeing as we're on topic of OG members, anyone remember Creeper?
I thought she was the white elite avatar.

I'd call it more polarizing than disliked, kinda like WW.

You either loved it or hated it. Definitely aged poorly graphically due to it going for the realism approach. I can't stand it on the Cube now because it really doesn't look great, so I have to emulate. Got an mClassic on the way though, so hopefully those days are over.
Yeah fair enough. I agree on art direction, a fair chunk of it aged like milk though its good moments really stood out. I've got the HD remaster on Wii-U I've been meaning to play, wouldn't mind trying out a comparison between the 3 games with the first 2 on a good CRT vs the remaster on a HDTV, and maybe try out my HD upscaler on the older games too.

if he has then nobody cared enough to put him in the perth obituaries, so thats something I guess.

Just remembered something I haven't thought of in years: after Microsoft gave BUNGiE the boot, their next project was "Crimson Steam Pirates?" A mobile game which didn't take off.
I remember trying to download it in 2014 to check it out and it was already removed from the app store ROFLLLLL

Is TP considered widely disliked?

I thought it was basically the most renowned Zelda between the 64 ones and BOTW?
General consensus on Zelda forums was it brought nothing to the table that OoT didn't. Don't think it was really unpopular tho

Road Rashj 64. More niche than unpopular, but other people that have a vested interest in the franchise much prefer the PC game over it (and fair enough that game slapped too). It's just nonstop slapstick comedy to me with a physics engine that really promotes a fun experience at all times. There's nothing grindy or tedious about it it's just plug game in, turn on and have fun.

id say TP had some if not the best dungeons in the series

city in the sky is personally one of my favorites
City in the Sky, Ancient Cistern (Koloktos being my favourite boss of all time), and the Forest Temple from Ocarina were all so excellent that I wish most games could follow up to Zelda's ingenuity. The variety they can come up with is insane at times.
TP easily my favourite. City in the Sky was a bit of a drag for me because the first time I played it I was like 14 hours into a session playing and my power went out briefly, wiping my progress in that dungeon I was like 75% of the way through and I decided to go ahead and finish it anyway before bed. I was absolutely addicted lmao

Haven't remembered Elegiac in years, couldn't stand him.
He seemed alright to me on bnet and early sep7 but most of our interactions were mainly making fun of Sapphire. Def turned into a weirdo after that for no reason.

Had made plans to meet Elegiac sometime around 2014-15. Had him on fb for a bit and he deleted all social media after a big downward spiral. Never did search his name in his area's obituaries and I'm a lil scared to check.

I felt that way about The Weapon too until the end where they imply she is going to take Cortana's name and just be her from now on. I fucking pray that's not the case.
yeah i really did not like that vibe when I started feeling it

If Weapon named herself Cortana I'm going to ragequit the campaign.  If they really do want to "start fresh", then let Cortana die.  Weapon taking her name will just cause people to view her with suspicion and mistrust (see Esparza shitting several Infinity-sized bricks upon seeing her).  Give her a new name.  I've seen people toss Joy around, which I'd be...okay with I guess.  Certainly better than being named after someone who BLEW UP A FUCKING PLANET JUST TO PROVE A POINT.

If I had to really stretch my wishful thinking, I'm hoping it's gonna be based off some somewhat niche historical weapon in line with OG Bungie's naming traditions for AI (eg: Durandal/Durendal from Marathon, Cortana/Curtana, etc).

That said, I'm kinda doubting the capability of 343's writing department to come up with something satisfactory given they're incapable of a modicum of continuity between games.

To this day I don't even know how the CE shotgun functions in multiplayer. Explain it to me das. Is there like a magic range and headshot damage to get the perfect two tap or oneshot?

Best I can ever manage is leading four shots at point blank for a takedown and by then some sweatlord's already kenshiro'd me so I just bust a nut imagining I was skilled enough to get a quad shot.
90% of the CE online experience is using teammates and the hitmarker sound effect upon respawn to see how far to the left/right you need to lead a shot for it to actually register.

Okay this is epic

The R34 GTR rims I've always loved and those look great
Ty man, easily my favourite look for the car so far. Wheels are good specs (18x9+30) and look sick. I love the colour too but it's so hard to get a clear photo where they're not invisible lol.

Yeah hardest learning curve was switching to Spacies mid Slippi era. I enjoy Ganon a lot and even took a clean sweep at a local round robin with him, but I think I've pushed him as hard as I can; decent Spacies, Falcons and Sheiks online kinda just do what they want to him, and they're very popular characters.

Def wanna play more low tier secondaries once I'm going deeper than 2-2 in tournaments, until then I'm going hard to the grindstone to get better/cleaner.

Been entering a netplay beginner tournament series since mid last year. Slippi netcode has been fantastic for netplay games and I'm looking forward to getting a PC that can handle running OBS streams and the game at the same time.

One problem I've been running into is the lowest skill level players still sink insane amounts of time into grinding melee and even in losers bracket it feels like I start the game already a stock down from a massive punish or instant gimps. At a guess I'm gonna guess it'll take at least a 750 hour investment to win even 1 of these Beginner tournaments, and that's coming from a half-serious player since 2015.

In other news, Rocketman will be pleased as I am finally spaciepilled and main fox/falco, mainly grinding Fox punishes on waveshine/chaingrab characters and upthrow-up air combos to develop a strong punish game. Biggest obstacle is I get really nervous before queuing into unranked/asking for friendlies in Aus smash discord and I've had that problem since day 1. Zero clue why but it makes it hard to start a big friendlies sesh. Not many terrible people in Aus smash I'm just nervous about playing them. I guess a 10% winrate on Slippi will do that.

Also Sora, Sock and DonB (Aus melee top 3) have been in the US for a couple months and I'm looking forward to seeing the impact they have over there/how they develop as players, and enjoying the content being put out so far.

A few things to shout into the void:
-343 create some semblance of continuity between games challenge (very hard). As much as I disagreed with their story directions, I was very much looking forward to seeing what 5 was going to be about after the end of 4 and the leadup with the hunt the truth series, and again with Infinite after the cliffhanger. Both times have been complete tangents imo. Extremely disappointing in that regard.

-The bar is low (at least from much earlier titles), but I'm not a fan of the netcode, desyncs in particular. You can hit a clean perfect in a duel but if their ping is 1ms lower the game will give complete advantage state to whoever you're trying to shoot/getting shot by. Also applies to melee lunge range. Looks like a Fall Guys lobby.

-Soft kill barriers. A blight on the franchise since reach. I could write a 700 page novel on why I hate these and it still wouldn't cover half of the energy I could spend blustering at it. I will instead opt to channel that energy towards watching youtube documentaries of the Edmund Fitzgerald sinking, and Cascadia subduction zone, in an attempt at self care cheers legends.
