Well, that's the thing- he didn't have a reasonable grasp on that. He kept saying weapon loadouts weren't in matchmaking. They were. I don't think my positions here are terribly outlandish. Honestly, I'm surprised you guys are going through all the trouble to defend OP. His review was terrible and he said a ton of things that were false. This forum has never seemed too keen on being a hugbox before, why protect OP from the truth now?
The post format where he called you out was confusing, as it appeared he was quoting you saying 'I could beat your ass in Halo 2.' My apologies. My defense of the OP was based on you directly correlating Competitive experience to understanding basic game mechanics, which I disagree with.

That's because there's a direct correlation between how good someone is at Halo and their opinion on the games, usually. I've been around for long enough to be able to tell when I'm speaking to someone who I probably would have held the objective on if I had played against them. Bad Halo players tend to never have anything useful to say about the games beyond things that are extremely obvious. And TBQH I like poking fun at them. it's almost as fun as spawn trapping.
I respectfully disagree. Anybody who is switched on and played several matches in each playlist would have just as good an understanding on playlist loadouts as the next person, regardless of how skilled a player they are inherently. When it comes to things like discussing Power spawn times and fall damage reduction, competitive experience is invariably necessary to have any authority in the discussion, sure, but for something as simple as this you don't need to be one of the top 1,500 Team Objective players to have a reasonable grasp on what playlist had loadouts.

It's not a Halo thread until some halftard posts something patently wrong about the games. I just don't like when people spread bad information is all, and it so happens that a lot of the people on this forum who post about Halo are thumbless morons. All I'm doing is giving people a reality check =]
I'm not arguing against you there. But in every situation where you've asserted somebody is wrong about x feature of a Halo title, you invariably bring up their stats compared to yours, as if their authority on understanding certain features of the game hinges solely on how they perform competitively.

Reach's firefight as a whole was shit because it completely destroyed what made ODST's Firefight fun, intense, and challenging. Reach's firefight was nothing more than different ways to farm for cR.
Vanilla was okay tbh but only Waterfront was able to replicate the feel of ODST. This was offset by the map being inherently unfun because it was flat out impossible to defend, even with a full team of competent players communicating properly. Couple this with it being hard to find competent players because they all demand overshields and infinite ammo fuel rod guns to go more than 1 round without burning all the lives, and you have a shit matchmaking experience for those looking for a decent (fun) challenge.

A couple years ago, 2 people in my Town started a protest because they'd each submitted ~500 applications with no success. I have no idea what they ended up doing. It took me no less than 325 tries over 2 and a bit years to land a job. I learned after my 200th attempt that even the shittest jobs I was applying for had me going up against well over 500 other people.
