Serious / Re: The only way to remove ideology from politics is to remove democracy« on: November 06, 2014, 08:48:44 AM »
Democracy is the right of all human beings.
All men and women have a right to self-determination. Self-rule. Anarchy being impractical and impossible, the most effective compromise is Democracy, where men and women come together to make decisions based on what they believe in. This way, while the decisions still do not please everybody, they do please most people. Obviously some things cannot be under the control of the masses. To prevent abuse, policies must be in place to protect minorities from abuse. The ideal democracy allows the majority to have it's way while still protecting the rights and dignity of all men and women, regardless of background or affiliation. It does not have to be capitalistic or socialized, really nothing matters quite as much as allowing the people to govern themselves. 1774

Gaming / Re: I have a question about the Pokemon games.« on: November 06, 2014, 08:01:30 AM »
Having version-exclusive pokemon is no problem. They can be bred, traded, and shared.
The PROBLEM is version-exclusive items, like Mega Stones, that you can only obtain one of. People usually aren't willing to trade their Mega Stones, so you have to buy multiple games, or hope to find someone who can clone. 1776

Serious / Re: West Virginia elects to position nation's youngest lawmaker« on: November 05, 2014, 02:58:52 PM »Now give me an example of this actually happening.State A has two school districts. District 1 has already higher standards than District 2. The state passes Common Core with D-2 meeting the minimum but D-1 exceeding the minimum and because of such, the state lowers D-1 because it's easier to lower standards for a better off school than to raise them for a school that isn't as far offExcept it doesn't make standards higher. It makes schools that are ahead subjected to a decrease standard in order t be on equal footing with other schoolsWhat logic did you use to draw the conclusion that a minimum requirement will bring standards down. 1780

Like, in the slightest. That's contradictory since the purpose is to have all schools follow the same pathMost likely, she supports CommonCrap which is total opposite of improving educationCommon Core is fine so long as the localities can perform the implementation themselves.
