Homeopathy is using plants to cure illness. Extracting medicinal properties from plants is homeopathy. Ever made a tincture? That's the best way to extract the beneficial chemicals from the herb.

Just watched the first three episodes and, yeah, pretty good so far. I love how they throwback to old 70's SD while still changing the show. Like, a serialized plot and actual character development? That's not Scooby Doo. I'm really glad they're spicing up the formula for once.

Different herbs are definitely effective for common illnesses. If you make tea out of echinacea, for example, it will cure a sore throat faster than any other kind. Some natural things, believe it or not, do have medicinal properties. To claim that no plant across the board has any trace of them is just ignorance.

I literally never said that. There are some things nature can't treat, but the fact that people just immediately default to popping pills when they get the flu is sickening. There are actual effective herbal cures for moderate sicknesses like that.

Serious / Re: Carl Sagan on the Fermi Paradox« on: September 10, 2015, 12:34:37 AM »Alright. Let's assume for a second that there is a near omnipresent and invisible alien force in the universe that hunts and makes civilizations disappear. Would not an intelligent force with such capabilities not be the most capable moral agent to be making those decisions? And that we as intellectually inferior beings should have no quarrel when their interests are ultimately more informed and meaningful than ours because we lack the scope and perspective that they do?What a load of shit. Do you know why Sagan cares the most about humans? Because he's a human. You should follow suit. What's most important in general is subjective. But what's most important to a species is always that species. We live and fight to our dying breath to preserve our kind. We don't just roll over and die because we accept that something is better than us. Every animal is the same way. 18877

It's actually universal. 18878

The Flood / Re: is Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated good?« on: September 09, 2015, 08:41:26 PM »No. It sucks because a lot of times the monsters turned out to be real and things got all mystical and shit with witches coming back from the dead, aliens, vampires, and all sorts of other stuff. That and the mysteries where the monsters were people in costumes had scenes that were completely inexplicable with the monster being a person in costume.I'll keep that in mind ![]() 18882

"The newest children in a strange and uncertain cosmos should listen quietly for a long time, patiently learning about the universe and comparing notes, before shouting into an unknown jungle that we do not understand."
Do you agree with this? Is broadcasting our presence and location to deep space a good idea? 18894
