That's a pretty black and white way to see things.
Oh come on. You either think people should be able to fuck/marry/smoke/snort/do whatever the hell they want to do with their lives without hurting other people, or you don't. You either support freedom of choice, or you don't.

I think the choice is too obvious, and I don't think we should label people who believe you shouldn't have those freedoms as "conservative" or "right wing," because it gives them a bad name, unduly.
Fair enough, but the freedom to do whatever you want to your own body is just one social issue. There are others that are much more grey and less obvious.

but your mindset in general is just conservative.
Not really sure what you mean. I'm naturally conservative?
The way you think. Just look at that other thread. Your whole notion of the strong and the weak, about power and drive being the most important, about competition being the defining trait of progression, etc. Those are all conservative concepts, and you base a lot of your other views around them.

see, i don't really factor in social values, because to me, it's not a matter of whether you have "liberal" social values or "conservative" social values

it's "smart" social values or "stupid" social values
That's a pretty black and white way to see things.

Libertarianism isn't a right-wing concept....I'm more or less a libertarian when it comes to social values.

I'll pose the same question for left wingers - mostly cause I wanna see your list for that one.
I'm not very good at ranking people; there's an incredibly large asymmetry in information. I'll give it a go, though:

- Verbatim.
- Class.
- Cindy.
- Luciana.
- Challenger.
- You.

Those are the names of "left-wingers" which immediately comes to mind.
How is Challenger a liberal whatsoever? He's literally obsessed with "family values".

Do we have more conservatives than liberals?
Um, duh. The vast majority of active users here are conservative.
I'd be interested to know where the boundaries of conservatism lie, for you, given your ideology.

How conservative am I? How about relative to Turkey and Mordo? Which of us is most conservative? Do my views on criminal justice, the War on Drugs and immigration count for nothing? How are you defining conservatism?

All questions I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on.
Turkey is probably the most conservative. He shills for literally every imaginable big corporation, the government, and harmful chemicals. He denies the dangers of aspartame, flouride, and GMOs completely and more or less encapsulates the conservative agenda.

You're not as bad, but your mindset in general is just conservative. You have some moderate liberal values in some places, but they're overshadowed by your strong conservative values in other places. Thinking the war on drugs is retarded isn't really a big political issue - it's common sense.

"Western values" are complete trash.
Right.

Competition, the rule of law, property rights, a consumer culture and the Protestant work ethic never did anything for anybody. . .
Rule of law is a western value? LMAO

And yeah, those are all shit. They're all capitalist values.

Anarchists are not libertarians.
They're not conservatives, either. I just said he's more of a libertarian than a conservative.

I tend to do that

I'd put Meta, Mordo, and Turkey as the shit beliefs trifecta

Slash and Door aren't that bad, IMO. And I'd consider Door more of a libertarian than a conservative.

I haven't called a single individual evil, so that point is idiotic. Organizations are evil. Politicians are usually just selfish and inept.
I also envy your ability to split hairs so finely.
This conversation obviously is going nowhere. I'll just say you're up there with Turkey in terms of shitty political views.

15055
It fights tooth and nail against trade unions, which are arguably the last bastions of people who actually give a shit about workers and the poor.
It must be easy viewing the world through a black-and-white lens. In some ways, I envy your childlike conception of reality.
Okay?

I honestly have no idea why I even discuss things with you in Serious
Same, all you do is suck the dick of our corporate masters and spout out the conservative rhetoric.
That must be why I call Bernie Sanders evil and think all liberals want to do is just undermine the glorious and faultless West. . .

Oh, wait, I'm not batshit insane like you.

Spoiler
Not sure how pretty strongly liberal views on criminal justice, the War on Drugs and immigration fits into your paradigm of me being a conservative shill spouting rhetoric. . . But whatever man.

"You need to be a master of economics to see the blatantly evil shit that the government does on a daily basis"
No, I'm saying you need to have a minor grasp of the field to be able to call the WTO even inept or neutral. You need to have a pretty solid grasp of trade and institutional economics to be able to call them actively damaging (which, by the way is an opinion I hold of the World Bank based on the work of development economists). It's a whole other ballpark to call them actively evil.

Yes, damn me, it's my fault not everybody loves each other. It's got absolutely nothing to do with the fact that we're basically no better than chimpanzees biologically. . .
