I'm just kidding, that's fucking stupid. Why do game devs pull this crap? Anything under 60fps is unacceptable and everyone knows it, so why are some devs still trying to defend it? My guess is to defend the shitty hardware of the next-gen consoles. That and they're being paid to.

Also, this applies to film to some degree. Higher framerates are better for the most part.
