The Flood / Latest Jurassic World info
« on: October 08, 2014, 08:58:44 AM »
Now these might be spoilers. A youtuber user named Ivan Flores claims to have seen a private screening of Jurassic World's first trailer for a media focus group. Since then Universal pictures has taken down his video describing what he has seen, and I've also seen a few sites with this information claiming that the studio requested that they remove the information. From comicbookmovie.com

OPEN: UNIVERSAL and LEGENDARY logo- cut to ferryboat, filled with tourists. The camera pans around to show Isla Nublar. A few scenes pass by, showcasing the arrival to the island. The next scene shows a vehicle passing through large gates, much like the Jurassic Park gates, that read Jurassic World. Queue small montage of scenes showcasing the park, filled with tourists. (Note: at some point during these scenes title cards that read "THE PARK" "IS OPEN" appear)
One scene that is described specifically is of a vehicle casually driving through a field, surrounded by bipedal dinosaurs, likely Gallimimus. The next described scene specifically is of two passengers (likely Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins) inside of a 'clear bubble-shaped vehicle" (the Gyrosphere), next to large Sauropods, which are likely Apatosaurs.

A few more scenes go by, which lead into a Great White Shark, hung upside-down over water, with visitors onlooking. Suddenly the water explodes, and the huge head of Mosasaur leaps upward, encompassing the shark, and pulling it under, thus soaking the guests watching in awe.

We then see a closeup of a mosquito inside of amber, and cut to Bryce Dallas Howard saying a line along the lines of "We have learned more about genetics in the past decade than the past century" and "We are now able to create our own dinosaurs from scratch".

We now see Chris Pratt for the first time, walking into a room questioning an apparent situation. We cut to see a huge wall of a paddocks interior, covered in deep scratches. It is then mentioned that the 'creature' is loose, and a line similar to "She is deadly, and she will find us" is said. Cut to a person being dragged through a dark jungle, from a first-person perspective, only showcasing his feet. Next we see someone fall into water, followed by a woman screaming in terror.

Cut to title Jurassic World, followed by Chris Pratt saying "If we're gonna do this, we do this my way" pans to a muzzled Velociraptor that he gently pats on the head. It is then followed by a scene of a pack of raptors charging through the jungle. Trailer finishes with a title card: "JUNE 12th, 2015".

Also another site has these:

-The trailer opens with tourists traveling by ferryboat to Isla Nublar, where an operational amusement park known as (what else?) “Jurassic World” is located.

-We get to glimpse some of the dinosaur-based attractions at “Jurassic World”, which include the Gyrosphere mentioned in the park map and brochure props created for the film.

-A Great White Shark is shown being fed to a large aquatic dinosaur, to the delight of onlooking park guests.

-Some dinosaur – presumably the confirmed “new dinosaur” engineered by the park’s scientists (which includes Bryce Dallas Howard’s character, who appears briefly in the trailer) – gets loose, resulting in a quick montage of the chaos that ensues.

-The trailer concludes with Chris Pratt’s character, a dinosaur handler, revealing that he has muzzled (and tamed) Velociraptors, whom he employs to help track down and recapture the renegade creature.

Currently it is being speculated that the first public trailer will be shown during Interstellar screenings next month, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Gaming / More medals added to Halo 1 & 2
« on: October 07, 2014, 03:45:05 PM »
For both campaign and multiplayer apparently. They can also be turned off if you wish.

From IGN: "New medals have been added to both Halo: CE and Halo 2 for campaign and multiplayer," 343 told us. "There are nearly 100 unique medals in both Halo: CE and Halo 2. We felt this addition would make the multiplayer experience feel more modern and give players more ways to track their progress and style. For players who want a classic experience, medal display can be turned off for Halo: CE and can be toggled between off, classic medals, and modern medals for Halo 2 Classic. Campaign medals are awarded for enemy and style kills as part of the unified campaign scoring system, which is a new variation of the systems in Halo 3, ODST, and Reach."

343 also tells us that they'll share more details about the medal system this week on Halo Waypoint.

The Flood / New AC/DC single in its entirety
« on: October 07, 2014, 09:59:08 AM »
Here it is folks. Their first album in five years since 2009's Black Ice, Rock or Bust will be releasing on Dec. 2nd this year. This is also their first album in forty years that will not be featuring Malcom Young, who had to retire from the band due to dementia. inb4 people say all their songs sound the same, that's the point. They have never strayed from their signature style to simply sell unlike some other rock bands.

Serious / What amount of time should I let pass
« on: October 07, 2014, 08:32:11 AM »
Before I settle for any job. And I mean any, minimum wage included. Right now I looking to do volunteer work because I don't need money as I still live with my parents. Eight months? Definitely a year I think. It's month five and I'm already getting more anxious as each day passes. For those that don't know, I recently graduated college. Problem is time is flying by while I do nothing and it feels like I'm wasting my life. I went from graduating college to thinking about how meaningless life is in the shower everyday.

The Flood / John Williams to begin scoring Ep VII in two weeks
« on: October 06, 2014, 10:59:19 AM »
It wouldn't be Star Wars without him, and a lot of our other favorite films wouldn't be the same either were it not for his brilliantly orchestrated score to fill the mood. From a galaxy far away, to an island where extinct creatures roam the Earth, to ancient temples carrying otherworldly artifacts, or just a finned monster terrorizing beach goers - we all know William's music one way or another.

MakingStarWars.net reported today that:

Facebook user Chris Kowalski sent us this tidbit that Williams spoke about upcoming work on Star Wars: Episode VII last night. Here’s what Chris had to say: “Went to see John Williams conduct the Milwaukee symphony last night and he confirmed he is starting work on EP VII in 2 weeks!”

What we can conclude from this is that shooting has been complete or nearing completion, thus the need to begin scoring.

The Flood / How is Gotham?
« on: October 06, 2014, 10:41:16 AM »
I may start to watch it once one of my favorite shows, Boardwalk Empire, sadly ends. I'm more of a Marvel fan myself and have little knowledge of the DC Universe (pretty much just seen the Dark Knight Trilogy). What are your opinions of it? Yes, I know it's only on its third episode.
