The Flood / Re: >tfw no gf
« on: December 23, 2014, 07:43:04 PM »
Yeah, at this point it seems like I'll never have a relationship, and I'm extremely jealous of friends that do have them. Also I understand I can't have one at this point because who wants someone that is doing nothing with their life at the moment? There was a hot girl I saw tonight at Peachwave when I was going to get my mom a gift card. But she said they were all out though.

New England, in the forties, damp and rainy but surprisingly no snow.

The Flood / Re: I have no motivation to read
« on: December 23, 2014, 03:49:01 PM »
Yeah, I've gotten to the point where I'm tied of reading in general. I do it to try and keep my brain active at least because I'm unemployed, but I got halfway through a Tom Clancy novel and I'm bored with it. Or maybe because over the summer I read three of his books and they're basically all the same thing...

All I want is an entry level job that pays decently and requires a college education. I screwed up my life in high school and college because I was addicted to video games and wasn't thinking about my future at all. Recently I gave them up cold turkey and will be selling my xbox one soon. Holidays are miserable and I can't enjoy it. Spend hours a day searching through job boards to the point where I'm going crazy. I did volunteer work last month and I don't know what more I can do, but doing nothing all day is making me lose it.

Christmas eve going to a relatives house. Christmas day is just my parents, my brother, and a demented aunt with Alzheimer's at our house.

New concept art leaked yesterday. It seems obvious that the back of the helmet is inspired by Vader's, or it actually is a part of his (if it didn't completely burn on Endor) Don't know how I feel about it, looks like something out of Mortal Kombat to me. Seems legitimate though because of the prototype action figure sculpts that were also leaked yesterday. Also it looks like we can put the rumor that Chewbacca has a bionic arm to rest.

Recently it's Emily Blunt. Was watching a movie she was in with Chris Pratt and that guy from How I met your Mother, but can't remember the title. I want that British ass.

Land a decent job despite the shitty liberal arts major that I wasted four years of my life on. That's it. Preferably an entry level accounting job.

How come he hasn't used his power to get me a job yet? I've been trying for eight months. Surely he will intervene soon.

Inspirational...never had it as hard as you. The only difficult thing I had to deal with is ulcerative colitis but haven't been sick for years. Today I realized I have to start living more, and can't be afraid of anything because you can't live life that way. Tonight I saw the Hobbit with friends I haven't seen in two years. And it made me happy and sad at the same time. It felt like the last time I saw them was a short time ago and not two full years.

It's kind of scary actually...I am reading a book that was released in October 2013 called Command Authority by Tom Clancy (his last book) He damn near predicted the future. In this novel Russia invades Crimea, and their is tension and fighting between pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian nationalists in Ukraine. Also Russia's economy is plummeting in the book and in real life...

How does it feel throwing grenades with LB? (if you are using that scheme)

Is there a scheme where you can use smart scope by clicking the right stick? (or does that put you at a disadvantage?)

Gaming / Re: The new zoom mechanic for Halo 5 is great.
« on: December 20, 2014, 09:57:30 AM »
I only have a problem with how it functions canonically. For the DMR and BR at least. It looks like the Spartan is holding the gun closer to their helmet and looking down the sight, which wouldn't make sense, hence the need for the smart scope. Yes, I know what the smart scope is and does, but from the view that you get with the DMR and BR it doesn't look like you're looking through a camera lens because you can see your peripherals. The AR on the other hand does look like you're viewing through a camera on top. Anyone get what I'm saying?

Liberal Arts is the pathway to unemployment. They shouldn't even be offered, maybe just the teaching program because that's all you can do.
>people actually believe this shit
Well, I don't want to be a teacher, there's not much else I can do. Every time I apply to something that involves business or math I get beat out by the people that actually majored in those things.
Probably because you lack the skillset they want, not the degree. It's really easy to get into HR, Payroll, Accounts Payable positions without a degree, or with a degree in History, because it's not about that. If you have the skills to do the job, they'll hire you.
Yeah well when you apply for a sale supervisor position at Best Buy, and then they don't even hire you things are starting to seem helpless.
Do you have any experience that would benefit you in a supervisory role?
No. My friend doesn't either, and some how he's the fucking manager of a restaurant right now, I don't get it. I wish guidance counselors were more honest in college. They make you seem like you can do fucking anything with just a college degree when in reality experience matters more.

Gaming / Re: Do you still have faith in 343 or Bungie?
« on: December 20, 2014, 09:24:32 AM »
I have a fear 343i will take something away that has been a staple of past Halos. Seven maps in the beta, all of them small arena maps. How many large vehicular warfare maps does that leave us with? Three? Unless there is an entirely different portion of the multiplayer dedicated to BTB.

As for Bungie, no hope

Interesting, I was just thinking about ODST being ported the other day, and I love Relic. This is adequate compensation. Scratch that, more than adequate.

Sounds good, should give automatic weapons a fair chance now. I'm really interested to see how it looks on the Needler and other Covenant weapons. Damn, really wish I had a code...

Also those ships in the little intro scene for Truth...they look off to me, definitely a new design and very bulbous. New classification, or artistic re-imagining?

So I have heard there are grenade pickups on map, but do dead players also drop grenades like the Halos of yore?

Default controls?

I didn't get access to the game yet.

I don't know what happened.
Standard Beta starts December 29th. Early access, which requires an invite, starts today.

It said an invitational-only early access to people who are in the XB1 Preview Program. Which I am.

Unless it requires exact time. I'm in central time zone.
Yeah, didn't get an email yet either to be invited to the program. And I heard people say it's too late to get a beta invite if you just joined the Preview Program. Oh well, only a nine day wait and it is a long beta.

It's just not the same as a kid, there's nothing to look forward to. There's nothing I would want, if I get another game I just might go crazy because my entire life has been wasted playing video games, no job, no significant other to spend the holidays with, and I have to see on facebook other people posting how happy they are with their dumb ass girlfriends, and the relationship probably won't even last another year.
