you should hate yourself, and never stop

only stop if you hate yourself for retarded reasons—figure out the best reasons and roll with that
What if I don`t have any reason to hate myself?

Moreover, maybe you meant: "You should hate your flaws, and never get easy on them"?

That being said, I'm unsure of what Valve is referring to when they say "straight up trolling." Is it games made with the intent to harass or defame someone? Games that are edgy like Hatred? Or games that are extremely blatantly trolling like a Moonman Simulator or something?
There was this game yesterday
Spoiler
Today it was removed. So maybe Valve isn`t that lazy after all, but I can`t be not sceptic about them.

But overall yeah, sounds like it is good update after all.

This is for the best, their recent policing was so out of place with what they’ve been known for. I don’t like Valve/Steam but this is a step in the right direction.

Well, provided this isn’t a troll story.
Step in right direction or not, result totally depends on how Valve gonna implement it. And Valve is fucking lazy.

Also it`s a post from Valve employee, so unlikely that this is a troll
English, while it is a simple language, can seem complex in this sense. Step in THE right direction. THE result. Valve IS going to implement it.

Think of it as asking a question with your sentence "What IS Valve going to implement?" Valve IS going to implement such and such etc. What direction? THE right direction. What result? THE result. You also use the grave accent ` symbol instead of an apostrophe ' which faces the other way.
Thank you for the tip.

studio ghibli did all the art for it and animated the OP and stuff
I noticed, thanks for claryfing it though

Well the anime tiddies are saved but this also means steam has grounds to continue doing absolutely nothing about the constant influx of Asset Flips plaguing it
It`s worse, I think you can now have games completely broken and not working properly on Steam

1756
It seems like Valve can't handle games market well, so they decided to not be responsible for games on Steam anymore. For example, it`s not like you couldn't have terrible games or hentai games on Steam before, you could, because it's hard to notice and now Valve says that it's not responsible for games on it's platform anymore. "Fuck that shit, I'm out"

At least that's my first impression, Valve never wants to do work

1757
or outright troll.

So we ended up going back to one of the principles in the forefront of our minds when we started Steam, and more recently as we worked on Steam Direct to open up the Store to many more developers: Valve shouldn't be the ones deciding this. If you're a player, we shouldn't be choosing for you what content you can or can't buy. If you're a developer, we shouldn't be choosing what content you're allowed to create. Those choices should be yours to make. Our role should be to provide systems and tools to support your efforts to make these choices for yourself, and to help you do it in a way that makes you feel comfortable.

With that principle in mind, we've decided that the right approach is to allow everything onto the Steam Store, except for things that we decide are illegal, or straight up trolling. Taking this approach allows us to focus less on trying to police what should be on Steam, and more on building those tools to give people control over what kinds of content they see. We already have some tools, but they're too hidden and not nearly comprehensive enough. We are going to enable you to override our recommendation algorithms and hide games containing the topics you're not interested in. So if you don't want to see anime games on your Store, you'll be able to make that choice. If you want more options to control exactly what kinds of games your kids see when they browse the Store, you'll be able to do that. And it's not just players that need better tools either - developers who build controversial content shouldn't have to deal with harassment because their game exists, and we'll be building tools and options to support them too.

reddit is awesome
Yeah there's a nice variety sometimes, it's a good place to lose a couple of hours when I don't wanna sink too deeply into TVtropes.  Not sure why some people dislike it, but hey like it matters.
people just don't like the community/culture (and neither do i, really)

that's all they base their opinion on though which is dumb
I'm pretty sure communities and sometimes algorithms are the things that are ruining most of popular websites
