It's something I've noticed as well. The Conservative and Libertarian will call you an idiot and try to prove you wrong but the Leftist will call you an idiot and try to act like your opinion isn't even worth discussing.
I even notice it around here. Most of the users I'm thinking of don't post here very often but they're always left-leaning.

There is one account I'm subscribed to who uploads a big project video roughly semi-annually and puts it on a different website at first for around $2 before uploading it to YouTube about a month or two later. I could easily just wait for them but I've paid for them before, mostly because I want to contribute. It's not asking for much at all considering how much time and money goes into these videos.
Other than that, I don't think I've ever donated to any other Youtube accounts. Several of the accounts I'm subscribed to have patreon accounts but never shove them in your face beyond a link in the description so I don't feel extremely obligated to donate. Also most accounts are just people talking to a camera with images or something showing on screen.

I feel like the writing was pretty bad to begin with and Snyder said that there was a lot of studio intervention with MoS so it's hard to tell where the blame lies. I still think that he should switch over to a producer role however.

He could be a great Aquaman, but the problem is going to be that he's going to be poorly written character with zero depth.
I feel like they're going for a DCAU Aquaman instead of the objectively superior New 52 Aquaman, unfortunately.
I just couldn't see him starring in a Throne of Atlantis movie, which is just upsetting.
Yeah, that clip from BvS tells me that they're probably going to have him be underwater Khal Drogo. I think he could pull off a better version of Aquaman but unfortunately he's been typecast as this savage warrior character and I don't think it will be a very worthwhile addition to the DCCU.

If I was given the Kevin Feige role of DC, I would basically do an unofficial reboot to the franchise. We start out where we left off with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman all having met but no acknowledgement to previous movies. Lex Luthor is now played by Mark Strong, no questions asked.
We stop making our movies for edgy tweens. All the scripts to upcoming movies after Suicide Squad get tossed and we start over. Look at Amazing Spider-Man 2 as a failure rather than an inspiration. Zack Snyder can produce but no longer directs and Goyer gets fired (unless the bad writing is more WB's fault rather than his).
Wonder Woman is now based in modern times and we cancel the Aquaman and Flash movies but put Green Lantern, Superman and Batman solo movies in before JL 1. The Justice League lineup is Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern and Flash. Cyborg get removed from the lineup and his movie cancelled.
After that, the changes are fairly straightforward: Batman doesn't kill, Joker doesn't look like an idiot, Momoa's costume has color, etc. Find filmmakers that like and respect the characters. We embrace the source material and comic lore instead of trying to reinvent it.

I don't think it's fair to blame DC for this, ultimately everyone was basically expecting DC to follow Marvel (And Marvel just got lucky with timing it first, otherwise the roles would be kind of reversed) to the point where everyone was downright demanding it. I don't think it's a situation of DC trying to compete with Marvel (despite what Marvel purists would have you believe) but more of DC trying to give comic book fans in general more of what they want, and I've been dying for a Justice League movie for ages.
You're giving them way too much credit. Warner Bros. had basically been pissing around with the idea for a Justice League movie since the '90s but never had the balls to do it, even when they've had scripts and people ready to do it and a fanbase asking for it. Then when the Avengers makes 1.5 billion dollars they're suddenly ready to make an entire cinematic universe. This is obviously a series being forced by the studio and it's probably going to crash and burn like Sony did sooner rather than later.

I'm hearing a lot of people say that the story was good but the movie fell apart on execution. This makes sense. I read the script and thought it was amazing but it looks like there were some changes to it. This is all on Snyder. I hope they find someone else if they're going ahead with Justice League.

i watch a lot of live action kaiju movies and more traditional asian cinema in addition to anime. none of the live action tv shows ive tried to watch make much sense due to cultural barriers but there are some exceptions like the original ninja warrior
