The Flood / Re: Bungle.Net
« on: March 04, 2015, 08:46:11 AM »
I don't consider any website as a home, really. I really liked Bungie.net some years ago, like Sep7agon now because it was a welcoming place as a gaming forum. After the update I couldn't get around the community any longer and I felt that the connection I had to the community and Bungie's awesome developers was severed entirely.

Bungie.net failed because they brought in some concepts from newer trends, ideas and so forth without enough faith in what the community wants. When I saw Sep7agon, I really got the same welcoming feeling, but my objective was to also avoid that core mistake; where the design drives people away.

So, here I am. The design has some issues, but I haven't split the community. So I like to think the work as a success.

I am not religious, just spiritual. I avoid religious communities because they tend to be irritating, and also (in various degrees) enforce something more than just a spiritual belief.

Someone threatening the NSA? Why would someone do that! I mean, the NSA has no political, activist, ideological, spiritual enemies. Not at all. Especially since the NSA is always ethical and do-good with protecting America.

The Flood / Re: Let's talk money

Most of the income is generated by parents. The lowest amount for me alone would be somewhere around 1200 Euros / month. The most amount? A large sum or a small one. Depends who sees it.  (1200 Euros also includes college expenses, besides living, and extra ones for comfort)

The yearly income and expenditure is... A scary number, it just happens ends meet, so...

No, but suddenly you get more lucky and you tend to find a lot more money all over the place. You also get some charisma bonus.

Jesus christ does the hair come with a pot of gold aswell?

Dallas Dance? That's the best username on post-Destiny Bungie.net.
Why do you think that?

It's funny how The Flood seems to actually agree on something.

I have a theory that you should have studied better since your success depended on a single point.
I have a theory that you should post your boobs

So that means you'll do it?

737
That's why you never agree to do things with friends of that kind. They just have a fetish to stab you in the feels.

I have taken tests in school before, (and the Greek theory exam for my driving license) and you don't really provide any means to understand how the points worked in this test and how failure and passing are determined. So I assumed that you had a bunch of tasks to fulfill and you failed most of them and pinpointed your failure to a single thing, because that's what I see often happening.

So, yeah, your theory is partly correct. (I would offer some cookies but LC ate all of them)

I have a theory that you should have studied better since your success depended on a single point.
I have a theory that you don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about, since studying is largely unrelated to the hazard perception part of the test.

That's why there are many kinds of Christian faith that vary on some grounds and beliefs, but retain the core values behind following what Christ has taught about God. God's accomplishment is your existence; building your own life based on Christian or whatever other values is your own accomplishment.

This is what bothers me about the Christian faith, and many others.

I am never good enough. No accomplishment is my own. No matter how hard I worked at something, God will always get the credit.

« on: March 03, 2015, 09:59:53 AM »
Might sound like a bad comparison, but I'd figure it's the same reason as to why many great actors don't receive the Oscar prize. Corruption and mixed interests.

Serious / Re: Does the 'liberal bias' actually exist?
« on: March 03, 2015, 09:29:01 AM »
If you associate yourself with a political belief and close any other possibilities or only project a certain aspect, image or idea then yes, you're fully biased. That is, until you start thinking outside the box and providing something complete and coherent outside a limited image of the world.

Serious / Re: Jihadi John was bullied at school
« on: March 03, 2015, 09:25:24 AM »
I think, that perhaps, during developmental years, bullying and being bullied determines what position you will assume later on in your life. Between being dominant or submissive. However, there's more involved to creating a death machine than bullying experiences in school. (Unless something extraordinary happened in a bullying accident)

I think that you are looking at religion the wrong way; God isn't under the same rules as humans. Humans, owe their existence from God, whose teachings have been interpreted in different manners in all ages varying between the needs of people themselves.

Essentially, you owe your life to God, and he does as he pleases depending on how you use the lifetime given to you. Hell is the destination for those who sway off the beaten path. Heaven is the destination for those who fulfill the ideals of creation. However, as strong and mythical of a figure God is his presence in the world that cannot be proven or seen.

The point is that you trust your heart and instincts that something-- beyond what your senses and logic can reach exists. That something has been attributed with creating you. Whether you like it or not, it also extends some power over your existence outside of the reality that you currently live in.

Going to the church every Sunday, drinking Christ's blood and consuming his body, being washed of your sins by baptize, punishing and arguing against those who oppress or dislike your religion are all different faces and interpretations of an unknown elements that do not hold clear answers and at best, theories that reach various degrees of credibility.

Perceiving God as something akin to a corrupt government is not proper. People form a government, a nation, a religion, a group, and so forth. Yet God existed and will keep existing with or without humans. The ultimate authority is a human; do you want to live your life in a barren wasteland, full of human desires and instincts or be in the herd led by those who see God's image?

The power of being protected, of being offered a family, food, shelter, means of trade, friendships is so powerful, especially in times of desperate crisis, of unprecedented danger, and imperialist oppression that fills up men and women alike to give themselves to a purpose that might even seem folly for those who cannot see any hints. Outside of those times, it's just a cultural heritage, a means of ordered life that is not about following the human law, but a higher belief of following a purpose, of being an individual who gives their time to uphold the values of what their belief embodies.

So, God isn't burning hell unless you believe he must burn in hell. The belief that there are no Gods, nor masters over you is as acceptable as any other.
