The Flood / Re: Trust system

The current system is not the alpha and omega. Users who have a higher trust are based on many different activities than just the up votes and down votes they receive.

It's stuck from my Bungie.old days.

Did you purposefully decode to quote like Achronos or did it just kinda happen?

Fine, thanks for asking! How about you? : )

How are you?

It's 1:20 AM, and I spent all day tinkering with OS X. Ask me anything you feel like.

His language is fine, he has a solid opinion based on what he likes, and he doesn't seem to get angry at others for having a different opinion. This 12 year old is at least 12 years more mature than most people who spout nonsense and get worked up over preferences.

A new version of the website is in the works. All members are welcome to leave feedback regarding how they want the website to go based on the development I submit. Check out the thread here. This also includes work for the mobile version.

The Flood / Re: Remember "Bungie Aerospace!" The hyped flop?
« on: October 17, 2014, 08:34:48 AM »
Due to the nature of the project, it's not quite an easy thing to handle. They probably got countless applications, with only few of them having true potential. There's also the fact that Bungie shifted focus on Destiny over time, so maybe the project won't bear fruit for the years to come.

Bungie Foundation is also rather quiet, but it's not dead. It's just that this kind of projects are side things that take time to develop, and host certain events or feature something.

News / Re: October 2014 Survey
« on: October 17, 2014, 04:49:01 AM »
Only the statistical ones that can be expressed with a graph. The result of the more descriptive fields will be kept and analyzed, and the outcome of that discussed in the proper places. Releasing the raw information from those fields would violate people's privacy, and be a breach of trust of the promised anonymity. This also applies to Cheat.

No one besides me has access to the raw data, and results. It's all anonymous as much as possible. I don't want people to point fingers at the data and say "Oh, X said that, and Y is the one who got it right!" since this information is more for analysis rather than raw statistics.

My plan is to get a broad (quite generic) outlook on what people want, and think. The survey is far from perfect, it's the first time I am running a survey, I feel that some questions could have been better, but the information I am getting from it so far is useful and it's what I hoped the most.

Are you going to release the results when it's over?

The Flood / Re: Since Ebola is now in Connecticut
« on: October 16, 2014, 02:18:13 PM »
It sounds like the story in Spain, though. I am starting to think there's some sort of plot. Maybe a pharmaceutical company paying them to spread it... Just to sell the potential cure?

It was originally one person in Texas, but a nurse broke protocol, got infected, then took a plane to Connecticut.

We agree with you. If the podcast features the same people and themes then it wouldn't be fun to follow.

IF we do get a podcast it better not be the same kids on it over and over again. You'd best invite different. Or else.

News / October 2014 Survey
« on: October 16, 2014, 04:11:01 AM »
Since we are working onto improving the overall experience with Sep7agon, and with Cheat's permission, I have decided to take a survey. All the entries are anonymous, you are not obliged to answer at all questions, and after submitting one may be able to come back and edit their answers.

The survey ends October, 18th 2014 at 5 PM GMT.

The Flood / Re: I think I'm actually becoming somewhat cool in college
« on: October 16, 2014, 01:07:43 AM »
There are no "ranks" people do what they can do. My role is the most flexible one when it comes to work with the forum software's code, design and some community management. You won't get to see me moderate the forums often as a ninja; that's not my role, I might do it when required, but there are people who are skilled at this and do their role effectively every day. Then there are also content creators who write articles, that's also an important role, and all the rest of the user base that makes the forum bustle with lively activity.

Without the required people with the certain skills to fill each role, and people who come, chat, and share experiences, information and emotions on the forums we wouldn't be really the community we are now, and without all these things my role would be pointless.

I've been meaning to say this: I like the way you managed to skip over all the ranks and stuff to virtual godhood pretty much instantly. You must be... skilled.

Exaggerated news. In the past few weeks there were political tensions, and in the Greek parliament there was a vote of trust for the government. It's a natural phenomenon that due to the political instability, the economy would weaken to this level.

Here's a much better article that is not trying to cause panic; http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/greece-returns-market-spotlight-nosedive-26217155

So, I discussed this with Cheat, and it's possible to do technically, and we can make it adaptable for mobile users too. This is the kind of thing that will be pushed into the current version of the forum software, and therefore you should keep an eye on the Patch thread in the coming days.

The Flood / Re: 343i took a page from Bungie
« on: October 14, 2014, 10:42:33 AM »
Exactly why the progress with the new design is public, and I actively welcome feedback. Not only what I am working on is based on Bungie.old, it also includes some newer trends in design that are tailored to the point that you all find desirable.

Of course, what Bungie does, and 343 Industries is based on their statistics. I also plan to collect some data, later on to help guide my work in a proper manner, but I also welcome direct talk and feedback with all users as I encourage transparency.

The main reason to keep this is because we seek to emulate the old Flood. It's part of our charm and identity. I'm okay with minor changes to improve user experience and efficiency, but old flood should always be the main theme.

One step at a time. Once the new version of the forum software is ready, and pending release, We will be discussing details about further features. If you want to pitch in some ideas for the next version of Sep7agon look at this thread, and share your feedback while I release my progress.

Will we ever get changeable themes?

The Flood / Re: 343i took a page from Bungie
« on: October 14, 2014, 10:31:46 AM »
For anyone who may be concerned; as a designer I take feedback seriously. In the future of Sep7agon, the theme will be a dark-based one. Because, I don't really put my extreme confidence in design above the user experience. Sometimes, being a dictator sometimes works out, but in reality, most people can't be dictators because you can't read minds, especially minds of thousands that visit the site every day.
