If Greece is invaded then it would be easier to be neutral or strictly defensive of private property in case of an invasion. The political and military corruption would just either also take the obvious surrender1 option, or they would make a massacre out of themselves.

1 Before the Italian invasion of Greece during World War 2 there were quite the talks between the the axis, and the Greek government. Greece was supposed to surrender due to the fact that it would be a massacre to hold a defense. However, the events went differently when the military resisted nonetheless, and seeing the conflict was in Greece's favor, the government tagged along.

The water would boil, causing the vapor go within the restricted area. Due to the overly huge amount of vapor, though, the kettle will explode into pieces, causing a large explosion that might be witnessed from space. The Russians mixed some plutonium in the same idea of a kettle, and called it Tsar Bomba.

Serious / Re: Is Immigration Necessary for Economic Growth?
« on: November 04, 2014, 11:14:46 PM »
Yes, immigration brings a new number of people to be a good work force and reinforce the birth rate for the next couple of years. Statistically speaking, as time goes, the US is more and more filled with older people. This kind of age gap can become an issue as the main workforce of younger people will be stagnating.

Therefore, immigration can allow expertise from different countries to come, be a good workforce, provide a good number of new citizens, and at the same time, potentially, reinforce both the economy (as the market grows due to the new input of consumers) and the birth rate.

Canada's economy is an exemplar case of immigration policies allowing the nation itself to prosper, and as well the people who choose to invest time, their skill, and effort to move into a new environment.

Point taken, Vien. I'll lock this thread for now, however, since the point has been made.

Does it also help to cope with the PTSD that can be developed from being involved in such conflicts?

Adrenaline, less pain.

There was a member of the Taliban so high that he was shot with 17 rounds of 5.56x45mm from an LMG before he died.

So... They are mad at Apple for having a homosexual CEO, and which probably in most cases, matters and any logical way doesn't affect the life of the everyday college student.

It was taken down by political extremists under the guise of safekeeping a conservative culture in a country that is disrupt by corruption, fear, extremism, and is mainly based around small communities throughout the vast territory that haven't seen the social breakthroughs like the rest of us have witnessed.

Russia's government needs to be denounced, and where needed, sanctioned for such corrupt behavior towards its citizens, and especially a higher educational institution which can provide future human talent for the nation's success. The least I would ask is a written apology to the institution involved for the dishonest behavior.

I bet the next update to the story is "New employee at 343 Industries is fired after breaching the NDA... Two minutes after his papers were filled!"

Comments will be like "I didn't expect for Josh to get fired so quickly; I just was showing him to the main room, when he wanted to get a shot, and he fired it up for the whole internet to behold" and HR "It makes me purr when some newbie screws up"

As I have explained before, the possibility for this development is there, but first the main design needs to be fleshed out.

Multiple themes plz and thank you.

Yeah, well, I don't think there's much point to continue this, I get your point though. I am sorry.

Like I said, it's usually pretty serious here although it's lighthearted.

I've rarely seen any posts like the ones in this thread.

How do you mean? Cannabis leaves in the design? No, not really.

Will there be cannabis?

I am not giving up on Serious as a forum, I think it should exist. I just don't really think it's the kind of thing I'd expect out of Serious. I am not Achronos, I won't move my hands and tell you what to do like a little group of soldiers. I accept the fact that this is a community, and the consensus shapes into what each section is like.

Plus, I didn't really deal any warnings to the people I edited.

How is Serious a lost cause? You know as one of the admins you shouldn't be so quick to give up on parts of the site. If you don't like that people make some jokes here, tough cookie. I'm not going to post here as if I were in a courtroom.

I just went and edited the posts which were derailing from the conversation with rape jokes which I didn't really find funny. I mean, I just give up on Serious. Whatever. I was told it was a lost cause, I guess I had to go ahead and try it to figure it out on my own. Bravo.

Some people are like that, and in college most people act like that. That's why I avoid that kind of arguments. If I get into such an argument then I am aggressive and see how long they last until they either run out of assumptions or information. Often it happens real quick.

Serious / Re: World Cup 2018: Russia edition
« on: November 02, 2014, 04:20:16 AM »
I don't think Russia should be isolated from such world events because of their views, if all else fails, such things should bring a diverse number of people and help move Russian society's towards newer views, rather than make it stay behind.

You can't just expect Russians to wake up one day and think coexisting with homosexuals is OK. We are talking about generations and a huge number of people who live in small societies that probably perceive things quite differently from the more accessible areas of the nation.

Gaming / Re: I'm writing a Destiny fanfic.
« on: November 02, 2014, 04:13:16 AM »
The source material is quite vague so you do have a lot of creative freedom. A personal idea for a story was to write a more dramatic backstory for a Guardian. That involves actually being haunted by past memories, and the ongoing horrors. Conflict between what was once known and what is reality.
