The issue is the publisher– Microsoft. They have the same policy with all their developers when it comes to handling leaks. They are quite aggressive, and demand that from the developer to be followed.

You'd think someone in PR would have cottoned onto the concept by now, but apparently they all seem to think the best way to handle something like this is to fly into damage control and censor it all.

You should have bailed out.

the movie combined with the theater triggered me. their lense was fucked up, their soda machines were broken, the ticket guy was rude, and one of the speakers was broken, so the entire movie sounded like it happened to the left of me.

It's probably something that comes from above in an attempt to get the ratings, and sales figures that are desired. Therefore, expanding the market into the wide one that Call of Duty has gathered is the only natural choice for a FPS game like Halo.

On the other hand, they are dedicating many touches on MCC to make Halo fans rejoice, and at the same time offer the multiplayer features that someone might want from a Call of Duty game to make those people also feel welcome.

But if we tackle on whether Halo was or is going to be competitive... Whatever direction they take, especially any inspired on Call of Duty won't really make the game that great when it comes to challenge on multiplayer. Certainly the game has plenty of action, but without ridiculously changing the mechanics, level designs and many other elements (some of which cannot be changed due to limitations) the game is nowhere nearby into being a serious competitive game like Counter-Strike.

I have serious doubts about that being possible to pull off, especially since splitting the Halo community in half based on significant gameplay differences has never worked before. But I can't stop them from continuing to try.

Well, Halo 4's execution wasn't exactly the greatest in multiplayer. However, they have a chance in Halo 5 to generate modes to please both communities at the same time. It might be interesting if they manage to please both to a decent extent.

They tried that with Halo 4 and failed horribly. The majority of Halo fans didn't like because it was too much like CoD for them, and the majority of CoD fans didn't like it because why play a game similar to CoD when they have CoD?

I don't see the issue as it's just a leak. It all matters on how the mechanics play out and whether or not the game can actually become competitive or is around the same lines of semi-competitiveness. Being closer to Call of Duty, could also make Call of Duty players pick up Halo, instead, which is quite an ambitious objective.

BasedLove was warned for spamming Ellen Page posts, and then after being warned he went spamming these long posts with Ellen Page in different threads. Just check his posts. He was lite-banned for that. I don't want to make the forums an execution platform, and therefore I opted not to make a public statement.

We automatically lock threads that are inactive for 60 days.

Speaking of which...
Please tell me that massively necrobumping threads is against the rules. It's starting to get really annoying, since it's obviously done just to be a nuisance. The occasional necrobump is okay, but not when it's purposely done to flood the front page.

Gaming / Re: Halo is pretty great. WARNING: LOT'S OF WORDS AND STUFF.

All Halo games are quite decent as they offer a certain experience. There is the issue that some titles have a different storytelling mechanism, and tackle onto new characters, and ideas that haven't been introduced in previous releases. That sometimes causes people to be disturbed as an element they are not used to is introduced and it doesn't meet a certain degree of expectations that they may have.

Halo: Reach suffers of some issues, not just in the story, but also its mechanics that were a different direction from what the majority of the playerbase that was willing to move from Halo 2 had adapted to at the time.

Always take negative opinions about video games on the internet with a grain of salt. Most people who do have a truly negative opinion will provide a realistic argument besides what has been rehashed by others who may be either random people's posts on forums, websites, blogs or videos, or some professional writer for a publication.

The Flood / Re: Under $800 Budget AMD Gaming PC (Any Adjustments?)
« on: November 08, 2014, 02:30:37 AM »
So, you'd just prefer to go tedious instead of going with a great CPU beforehand? Whatever.

Eh. Upgrading a CPU isn't that hard. It can just be tedious. That's why we are getting a Motherboard compatible with 4th generation Intel chipsets.

You can upgrade parts later, but you can't easily upgrade a CPU. If he has a low budget right now then he should drop most of it on a proper CPU, Motherboard and PSU. The graphics card, ram and so forth can be upgraded afterwards. It all depends on those three elements on having a successful build.
