Gaming / Re: New Article on Destiny's Scrapped Story« on: October 20, 2015, 06:52:01 PM »Quote So it’ll just be Destiny, Comet, Destiny, Comet every year. It’s basically just switching the game to an annual modelThat's what has been hinted by Bungie itself, and the way The Taken King has been presented. There's no other way to actually pay for the content but some micro transactions and a yearly expansion. That's a solid way to keep up an online game, especially when a subscription model is out of the question. 124

I don't really trust Sony in the terms of security. I use only my virtual card on the PSN store, if I'll be able to (capital controls) or the pre-paid cards and constant password changes. That's more or less my policy for buying things online nowadays. 125

Septagon / Re: site doesn't display right on android« on: October 18, 2015, 01:59:54 AM »Also, the fact that you have to hover over icons to make dropdown windows appear is extremely poor design for a mobile layout. As well as the fact that the profile one doesn't fit on the page properly and the fact that the PM icon is completely hidden.I know that it's Quote If you ever get hired, don't blame the browser for something that doesn't work. If another website can make it work just fine, then it's the designer's error.Yeah, sometimes it befalls on the browser. Why do you think designers were complaining for older IE versions for years? It just made work much more complicated, longer and frustrating than what was needed. The default browser for Android is just a joke that hasn't been updated in years. I won't go and blame Firefox's latest versions, Chrome, Opera, Safari, Edge or IE11 over something that doesn't work-- 90% of the things work nowadays and the odd one out is the Android default browser and people running really old versions. 127

I still look into reviews, but I mostly do that to see the point of view of the author and how much is something worth reading or just random words to promote a game.

Gaming / Re: MGS: Ground Zeroes« on: October 14, 2015, 11:07:22 AM »
It's a nice prologue to the events that lead to the Phantom Pain. Most of the fun comes from the different approach you will take into completing the main mission. The stealthy one, or the Rambo-esque one are both legitimate strategies that you can attempt. The story isn't that much, it's just a short story and it works to establish the key characters roughly.
You should also listen to the tapes you will get in-game. They often come with nice discussions between the characters that add an extra depth to what's going on or just give more context to what's happening at the moment. As far a Metal Gear game is concerned, I'd suggest you to pick up the HD Collection for the 360, the more traditional MGS experience is there. In Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain it's different, since the game isn't a sandbox, but it consists in an open world (In Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain) and the possibilities that were in the past restricted give you more freedom to use your fantasy to do something. This might be controversial to say, but the initial cost of the title was mainly done to add more feedback, and production money for The Phantom Pain. People just forget this. Konami wanted a more traditional MGS title, and instead Kojima wanted to create an open world stealth-action game. So, Ground Zeroes was released separately to make a point to Konami that the game can sell, or at least that the players enjoy the changes that were to come down with The Phantom Pain. 138
Serious / Re: Army: Women will have to register for the draft« on: October 14, 2015, 11:01:19 AM »No it really isn't dumb to think that. Wars are not fought the same way they were almost 80 years ago and due to the fact that no nation has the capability to conduct a successful invasion of the US we aren't in any danger. Even if countries like Russia and China had the capability (or desire) to wage war against the US it would be nightmare to try and occupy a country like it and the cost associated with it would be far greater than any short term benefit they could possibly gain. I agree there. Territorial occupation of a major power is out of the question in this century, at least. It's more meaningful to do economic, information, terrorist and proxy warfare than old fashioned invasion combat. Not only it's lacking in benefits, and the huge costs, drop in human talent and the destruction itself make it essentially pointless. Not to mention that nuclear weapons are still a threat, and they can ensure total destruction of a force. (Hence why we are now in a constant stream of developing autonomous weapons and systems to counter them) But sometimes it also works, such as Russia with Georgia and Crimea, but those are minor powers that are just pawns in the machiavellian ways of the EU and Russia. 139

It doesn't come naturally for the rest of us non-brits. To be honest, it's not that I got bored to work on Sep7agon or the lack of an economy in my country affecting the time I used to reserve to do some work here. (I won't really get a job anytime soon) There was a long series of problems that just sucked all the time I could put into any projects I was working on, including Sep7agon. I'd not really accept a monetary compensation for my work here (of which the quality is really not deserving of a compensation, in my opinion) but I get more fun into studying, applying and developing design elements to essentially compete against Bungie.net. Just the idea that I can make a place with a community like Sep7agon a good place to be through my web dev skills, especially when I am competing with a company that has millions, and probably web developers with at least a decade of experience under their belts is exciting. 143
