I love you Max, I sincerely mean that.

But renting, in the long run, *IS* more expensive than buying. But the 10-20% down payment is what prevents people like me from buying.

....

....I'll try one more time and see if you know where I'm going with this.

If you're buying video games instead of just buying the game developer company, you are literally throwing your money in the trash.

But that's what houses cost here. A shitty house in a terrible neighborhood is still $400,000 at least. I would guess the 3-bedroom house I rent a room in [which I split with a friend] is in the $650,000-$750,000 range. No way I could afford to buy this instead of renting.

Reminder: If you're buying movies on DVD and BD instead of just buying the production studio, you're literally throwing your money in the trash.

BRB, let me just buy a $750,000 house out of nowhere.

It's like you've never heard of different housing markets.

Same with bread, if you're buying bread instead of just buying a bakery you're literally throwing your money in the trash.

Once again, is it still a trap if you already know but don't care?

Dude, traps are like....TRAPS man.

Serious / Re: Romney on Trump "Trump is a phoney and a fraud"
« on: March 03, 2016, 08:16:29 PM »
I don't know. Nothing Trump has said so far really has echoed as loudly as "Half of America is a bunch of leeches." Everything Trump has said ruffles one group a little bit here and there but nothing that attacks half the US population all at once.

I'd be pissed too. Trump has said so many things that Romney would have been skewered for. As much as I disliked Romney, his anger is totally justified on this one.

The Flood / Re: CCCP and DVD Regions

Is there another viable freeware alternative? Keep in mind I'm very picky with what I choose (no menu support is an instant no since that's the whole point of me buying the movies physically over digitally).

The CCCP is outdated and  unregulated like the .su

They will probably never release bluray support for it.

Which one do you use? Luckily the benefit of being mustard race lets me switch out hardware on the fly and effortlessly. I went with the one I bought because it had the best overall reviews and ratings on Newegg and at the time I didn't know how much of an issue this was going to be.

My bluray player allows me to change the region unlimited times and plays DVDs.

I don't quite understand this post.

Why on earth would they release new technology for CCCP region?

You're just going to have to use a different region.

8562
He has a substantially larger support base than any other candidate save for Clinton. And with having that much more people you think that some of them weren't going to be silly? So far that's been the only thing I've seen come out of the non-internet media on Trump that has anything to do with memes, and it's ONE guy's ad surrounded by five or six (that we can see on your screen) that don't have Le Ebin MayMays on it.

Trump memes are purely reactionary, even more so if what you're saying is true and everyone is from 4chan. The more people whine and complain about Trump, the more the support base snuffs out the noise with equal nonsense. This wouldn't be a problem if people who hate Trump would just stop going "REEEEEEEE" at every thing he does.

The problem isn't hardware-side, it's software-side. The driver disc from Asus came only with the burning program and just gave me a link to install PowerDVD which for whatever reason doesn't run on my computer. I've already been playing DVD's using CCCP in conjunction with my DVD/BD player and so far it's flawless.

Should have just bought a high quality player.

The Flood / CCCP and DVD Regions
« on: March 03, 2016, 07:21:13 PM »
So a while back I made two different threads, one on my DVD/BD drive and another on a DVD region free DVD player. I'm currently using CCCP at the moment for playing standard DVD's here in the US, however I have no idea if it supports DVD's from other regions. Most internet forums that have this question give a variety of answers, ranging from a simple yes to requiring software that manipulates my drive (something I'd rather not do). I was wondering if anyone here who does use CCCP knows.

I eventually need to get PowerDVD since CCCP doesn't support BD's (damn you Sony!) yet PowerDVD only lets me change my DVD region five times which is completely pointless. So I was wondering if I could use PowerDVD for BD's (since most are region free anyways or are in region A which is primarily what BD's I have) and use CCCP for DVD playback from all regions?

And I'm perfectly okay with that if it means I only do it with people I care about. I'm not going to stick my dick in somebody that I absolutely don't want to hang out with outside of answering phone calls from concerned families. I'm perfectly fine being criticized for having not even gone on a date yet if it means I'll only have people that are on the same wavelength as me.

this is why you're a virgin

A fellow cast member I work with coerced me into buying a ticket to go see it tonight since AMC at Downtown Disney shows Disney movies a day early. Thing is I plain flat out didn't want to go unless two other buddies I knew were coming (strength in numbers) and they both bailed so it would've just been me, her, and her friend and she's not really someone I want to hang out with outside of work. So there goes $12 I'll never get back....

Romney's just upset Trump isn't even trying to build momentum, it's snowballing on its own. Romney had to bust his ass for his campaign and then he just let it fall apart with his 47% comment.

And should I do anything if there's no responses back?

Challenge for you: for the next week, everyday be the one to initiate conversation with a friend or whoever you want to talk to. Even if it's something stupid like "hey i saw this today and it reminded me of you ect ect". The only way you're going to be able to do it more is by doing it more. Once you break the initial discomfort it'll get easier and easier.

I know Senpai. But I'm afraid that I'd be annoying/bugging you when you're busy with important things.

You know you can always message me.

The Flood / Re: Afraid of talking to friends

This is similar. I have friends who I want to talk to, but we don't talk about a whole lot. So I feel there's nothing they want to say to me so they're just uninterested.

And I've always felt since I was a kid that the people I know, friends included don't really bother starting conversations with me since they don't think I'm as fun to talk to as their other friends

I don't want to. But I'm so afraid of the possibility of people rejecting me since that's all people have ever done, it gets so tiring.

That last one shouldn't even be on the list. At least 343 made themselves known for killing the series. The only thing Ensemble killed was themselves with their watered down insult of an RTS title.

The Flood / Afraid of talking to friends
« on: March 01, 2016, 09:30:59 PM »
A year or so back, a buddy of mine who I frequently have game nights on MCC with me, basically chewed me out. He told me I have to start initiating things more, at the time he always sent me invites on Xbox and texted me telling me to get on so we can play some Halo or Minecraft because we both knew we were both free and up for it but he was always the one started the invitations. Nothing has really changed since then and it's been running on two years. It's not just with him either, back in 2013, before my father's condition worsened my second oldest brother was practically dark for prolonged periods of time. I relied on talking to him via Skype but I always waited for him to start a conversation and I never would even though it showed him online and available. I didn't know much about his predicaments since he was living in Manhattan but he's gotten better at talking to me since the beginning of 2014.

I'm afraid of attempting to talk to the friends I really care about out of fear of rejection. The last thing I want is for someone to tell me they're angry with me, or that they're angry and are actively ignoring me and attempting to talk to them would only make it worse. I would rather have someone upset with me but have a situation that is repairable over someone being angry at me and leaving me in the dark or losing the friendship. I also don't want to come off as imposing on them or clinging to them desperately. Even though I'm told attempting to talk to them wont bother them and that most times they're just really busy, I get very paranoid if I try to talk and I'm only met with silence.

I don't know how to prevent it. It started after I graduated and was basically a NEET for six months but lately it's been eating at me more so than usual these past couple of months and I have a hard time focusing on work or enjoying my free time because of it. There are people I want to talk too but I'm afraid they're angry or upset at me, or that I would be bothering them if I tried, or that they're bored of interacting with me. I get afraid of saying something to them so I don't say anything and then when I continue to get silence I start to freak out.

Does anyone have advice on a situation or know of somebody who has had a situation like this and relieved it?

The Flood / Re: Is anyone actually a furry?
« on: March 01, 2016, 08:53:27 PM »
Back when I still went to cons, I saw some. Megacon didn't bother me so much since they were extremely small compared to the sheer size of everything else. Niche cons like AFO and other anime cons kind of bothered me, no reason for them to be there and bring in stuff that had nothing to do with anime/manga. Than again they weren't the only group that did it and other groups (comic book fans, tabletop players) were more invasive of the cons than them.

The more that I think about it, I have never really met a furry in person. I think there are just trolls and perverts pretending to be furries on line.
