I would like to point out this picture in particular. That is probably not a fake Lance of Longinus like the ones the MPEs carried in EoE. The lance is red like all other iterations of legitimate lances in the series. You could ask "Well why is there another? Didn't Kaworu impale Eva 13 with both of the remaining spears at the end of Q?" such as the picture we see above in the ripped images from the teaser. Keep in mind that in this continuity there are at least four lances:
Spoiler Furthermore we still don't know how they really work what with the Spear of Cassius and such.

The art of motion pictures has fallen if these two movies are vying for the top. Also keep in mind money now is worth noticeably less than back then.
Regardless, Anno will save us all next Summer. 935

Evangelion 3.0+1.0/Shin Eva will release next year in June and the entire series will finally come to an end after over two decades.
YouTube For reference, the series started back in October of 1995, 1.0 aired in September 2007, 3.0 in November of 2012 and this will release eight years later and 13 years after 1.0 came out. The ride will finally end. 937

I'm confused, story time?
There's just so much in this post that is just completely and factually wrong. I'd be happy to go over some of it very briefly but unless Deci decides to want to listen to actual facts, I feel like it would just be a waste of my time. 941

-I finished my Thunder Dragon deck in Yugioh and me and a friend from work are planning to duke it out on a day we both work at the same time.
-A benighted individual from work tried to get me fired and fucking failed at it so now they have to see my smug face every day they work knowing I know they tried to sabotage/trap me. -The previous point all stemmed from the fact that I may/may not have gotten full time in another location (I'm currently in a grey area). -I've been seeing another girl lately kind of; we only hang out as a friends but she seems really interested in doing stuff 1:1 with me. Half of then times we do something have been initiated by her. -I went to NYC last month to see my brother and grew my beard back; super happy to have it back, I missed having it. Any exciting new events in your life? 942

I will use this thread to post the big news since we're already on the subject of New Theatrical Edition:
https://www.khara.co.jp/2019/06/24/shin_eva_0706/ Studio Khara will be using Japan Expo in Paris on July 6th to show a world-wide release of the first ten minutes and forty seconds of Evangelion 3.0+1.0. 953
The Flood / Re: Neon Genesis Evangelion premieres on Netflix tomorrow« on: June 23, 2019, 08:00:15 AM »
I would argue it wasn't any more of a bait & switch than NGE was. Compare episodes like "Both of You, Dance Like You Want to Win!" & "Magma Diver" to episodes like "Don't Be" & "Rei III". Q represents that same turning point thematically; lore/world building wise, there's too many hints thrown all over the movie for what we see not to be carefully planned.
You know I'm not a waifufag, and even I agree 3.33 was literally the Halo 5 of EVA. The bait and switch they pulled betwen 2.0 and 3.0 was a bigger lie than Halo 5s entire marketing campaign if it was also run by Donald Trump and Bethesda. Also, It's gone from everyone having mental hangups to everyone just being plain mentally retarded. 954
The Flood / Re: Neon Genesis Evangelion is on Netflix now« on: June 22, 2019, 07:48:00 PM »
Doing some basic research I see that the entire series has "Fly Me To The Moon" cut entirely from each episode, including cases where it's even in the actual show proper and not just the ending (such as episodes 15 & 21). That's a real blight in my opinion, the awkward silence doesn't fit at all. i don't think there's any real reason for this decision other than Netflix deciding that getting 26 different copyrights for the same song was a little tedious (especially since the menu has an auto-skip about five seconds into an ending which most people actually use) but they should at least keep the tracks that appear in the actual show. Although FUNimation had a similar instance with the release of 1.11 where the "Fly Me To The Moon" trailers weren't included in the extras.
Other noticeable changes include: The intermission after DEATH, and D&R and EoE being in their own separate listings. The first change I can understand as that could lead to some confusion, but the second one might actually cause confusion. Also the On Air/broadcast cuts of 21-24 aren't included; they probably thought that these were an inferior version of the episodes and thus didn't bother with them. Further edit: It should also be noted that the script was translated by Dan Kanemitsu, Studio Khara's in-house translator. I believe he's the same individual who monitored the rewrite of FUNimation's 3.0 dub. If this is the case, what we have with Netflix's script (at least the Japanese & American releases) are just as valid as previous releases (some other countries have some pretty awful translations from what I'm seeing and it appears they weren't as heavily monitored if at all). 955
The Flood / Re: Neon Genesis Evangelion premieres on Netflix tomorrow« on: June 22, 2019, 06:07:25 PM »
I disagree; you would probably really like 3.0. Most of the complaints was from blatant waifufags upset that Anno gave them the second half of what makes Eva....well Eva. Not only that but Kaworu and Shinji's relationship isn't as quick/forced as it is in the show.
One real easy way to tell if you'd like NTE (or 3.0 more specifically), is ask yourself "Did I like episodes 21-24?" If the answer is yes then start Rebuild immediately. nope 956
The Flood / Re: Neon Genesis Evangelion premieres on Netflix tomorrow« on: June 22, 2019, 04:51:32 PM »

The Flood / Re: Neon Genesis Evangelion premieres on Netflix tomorrow« on: June 21, 2019, 07:45:44 PM »
I personally find her voice insufferable and whenever I ask anybody who does like her portrayal why, they give me bullshit like "She's a fan of the show". I get so fucking agitated at that answer. It has no basis on her ability to portray the character; if that's all it took I'd be the best Hei from Dark Than Black out there. I also find that she makes Asuka come off as way too whiny, although she toned down the bratiness a bit in NTE.
i never watched that dub, but it was my understanding that she was everyone's favorite 958

I don’t have Netflix, considering I already have the Japanese BD box I’ll probably pass on watching it this go around. Let me know how Asuka’s VA is.
