The Flood / Re: What's been the biggest struggle of your life?

Sure, I welcome such thoughts. But visits like that need to be planned out.

If you're willing to split the bill fam, i'll come visit you.

I'm not offended, it's just been said to me several times before by unfriendly individuals. I'll keep an eye on my writing style.

I'm giving you some friendly advice. No need to get offended.

8943
So nothing that has to do with the topic? You're just criticizing for the sake of it.

I'm criticizing your writing. You use a lot of fluff.

Some quality aspects of a movie may or may not be obviously apparent. Especially if we're talking about a movie that isn't even out yet.

As opposed to a delayed plus?

Forming real connections with people. All my friends at work are just that, work buddies. I haven't had friends that come over and hang out or do things with for long period of time for years now.

The changes made to the script in order to tie it into Cloverfield were negligible if not non-existent.

Now with that being said, I'd still be hyped for it even if it wasn't tied to Cloverfield. We need more movies that aren't rehashes of books or older movies, and I can't remember the last time I watched a Misery-type movie since....well, Misery. The only difference being this one isn't based off a book (which as I stated above, is an instant plus).

« on: February 08, 2016, 08:28:12 AM »
I've been playing the MCC solely since it's launch and as of right now I encounter very little problems playing it. I'm gonna file this experience simply under bad luck. If you want to play MCC for reals you should add me, I assure you it'll probably be a far more fun experience than the shit show that is Halo 5. I saw Deci on yesterday but I was with a friend that doesn't like people he doesn't know, otherwise I would've invited him.

I realize that however I'm not playing high end games or trying to go all out, I just want something that's noticeably superior to what I already have.

gpu should be the priority in a gaming rig tbh

I'd rather have a decent GPU with decent other parts over a really good GPU with gimped other parts.

If you're going to drop $1800 on a high end computer then at least wait until the next series of graphics cards are released in a month or two.

« on: February 07, 2016, 07:47:56 PM »
So I want to avoid going to /g/ because of the snobby elitism, yet I don't browse any other sites except for you guys and Evageeks, and the latter is still too busy imploding into itself over the upcoming Godzilla film to warrant asking for their help.

So when I got the current PC I have, I basically gave my brother my budget, and he picked out the parts and put it together for me. I now want to move up from what I currently have and I have more than double my original budget from over a year ago. I have up 1800 dollars (including priority shipping). And I have already picked out all the parts and I just need a group of people knowledgeable to run through my list of parts and do a last minute review to make sure all the parts I'm getting will play nice with each other is ultimately what I'll be happy with.

All parts will be ordered on Newegg since I want them all to come at once together and I don't want to track multiple packages if I don't have to.

Components:

Case: Corsair Graphite series 760T black
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI LGA 1150
CPU: Intel i5 4690
GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 970
PSU: EVGA 80+ Bronze 850W
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
HDD: 2x WD Blue 1TB Hard Drives
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
Reader: ASUS Black Blu-ray Drive
Monitor: ASUS VX248H Black 24"
Other: Blue LED stick

Total: $1,523.03

Any items not listed (such as an OS or additional fans) I already have ready to be installed with me.

Some questions I already have:

1. I chose MSI because it came with 1 HDMI port and 2 DVI ports. I currently already have the same monitor I plan on buying and another Acer monitor but I don't know what type it is. I wanted to get a third for a triple monitor setup so I looked for whatever had two DVI ports. However the GPU's DVI ports say DVI-I and DVI-D, will there be any problems with set up?

2. I've looked at the reviews for all of these products and one thing I took note on is that people went apeshit in the reviews for every DVD/BD drive I looked at bitching about needing third party software for burning discs. I have no interest in burning and simply want to watch DVD and BD shows on my computer from time to time. Will a third party program be needed for that?

3. For the DVD/BD drive, none of the products display what region it's set for. How do I find this out?

I'm basically looking for one that has a stand in the middle and not one on each side, but it seems all the ones in the price range I'm looking for uses the two stand structure. ;-;

just check here, bought the damn thing too long ago to remember its price or model, and you might want a different one.

How much was it? And do you know any good small-medium sized entertainment stands? My current TV is a PoS that doesn't use a proper 16:9 aspect ratio so everything is either zoomed in a little or way zoomed out. Also the stand is a little bare bones, I like it, but I need something a bit more "fuller".

Yeah, the TV is a vizio smart TV, only a few years old. I might move the cable box (top shelf, it looks empty in the pic) and put another console their.

The computer in total only came out to about $800 and that was well over a year ago. You're sure to find even better components for the same price.

Back when they were airing DBZ every day on Toonami. I legitimately never got to see SS3. During season 8, they kept restarting the season every time they got to a new saga. So as soon as the Buu saga started, they just went back to World Tournament saga, then after they finally got to Buu, they went back to the World Tournament right before Super Buu. They did this twice right before Super Buu and it really pissed me off, but I stuck with it cause I knew I was near the end. Then right before they aired Kid Buu they restarted all the way back to the Saiyan Saga and I just got so fed up I dropped the show altogether. I didn't come back until they were halfway through airing GT.

And before anyone says anything, this was back before the internet was a thing and my parents never had the money to get me the DVDs/VHS tapes.

SS4 Gogeta was badass though ;-;

I think we can all agree SSJ 4 is the worst tho
Oh yeah definetely. It's ugly as sin and doesn't fit with the rest that well.
