Hair salons have been open since Mother's Day and Florida has not had an explosion of cases. We have been on the downward end of the curve for a while now and the point of the lock down was never to drop infection rates to zero; it was to "flatten the curve" as everyone likes to keep saying. So when are we going to get this massive explosion of new cases that's going to make the state of Florida look foolish? Another two weeks? Yeah, I haven't heard that one before. Unless you have a magical Covid crystal ball, it's going to be very hard to determine that and if indeed you passed anything on to anyone.
I find it weird how people still think viruses are transmitted by sneezing directly into someone's face. You could have been asymptomatic and been a spreader just by walking within 6 feet of someone. Authorities didn't just invent social distancing because they wanted to fuck with your freedumbs.

Life is good.
We're reopening the parks July 11 and I got my haircut today. Contrary to what some people are desperate to believe, the price of my haircut total was $15; no ones 97 year old grandmother with terminal butt cancer and hasn't left her house in twenty years died because of my haircut.

It's disappointing how quick he was to make such a comment, but I guess I shouldn't be too surprised considering how he found parts of the Konosuba movie to be "problematic".
He is also a litteral cuckold BTW. His girlfriend does porn.

I don't think Verb was being condescending or saying that there's anything wrong with having simple explanations. I enjoy SoL titles far more than serious ones (usually because the more serious titles often end up being terrible); I'm watching Non Non Biyori and Sound! Euphonium right now and I don't have anything really to say about why I enjoy them other than "cute things are cute". But God damn, I do wish I could have a channel like Mother's Basement though. Not all of us feel obligated to write a sermon to validate our feelings on some cartoons. It's not that serious and we aren't running YouTube channels that get paid for it.

I just wanted to be competent with a more practical hobby. I consider myself well-read and somewhat in shape, but I'm lacking in something like this. Just being able to play decently for myself is more than enough for me. Yeah you'll need frequent lessons to be anywhere near competent but also a lot of practice just fucking around on the instrument to get to know it
What do you hope to do with the clarinet?

It would have to be in-person lessons from an instructor. Two of my four roommates are leaving at the end of this lease and the remaining two describe me as the "perfect roommate" because I'm so quiet so I'd rather not do anything to flip that sentiment upside down by blaring noise throughout the complex. So my options are either practice by myself in the middle of a barren parking lot or learn from somebody in a place designed for such use. I played trombone in high school
Are you teaching yourself or getting lesson?
Also go with rental until you're sure it's something you want to purchase

I'm not sure of it's just a passing interest that will fade with time but I've been giving serious thought about wanting to learn to play the clarinet. Regardless of whether or not I'll go through with it, I'll have to wait until I'm back to work anyways, a good beginner's clarinet starts at around $650. I've never played an instrument before in my life, which is partly what led me to choosing the clarinet over others. I originally thought about the oboe but they are not only significantly more expensive, but supposedly extremely difficult to play. The clarinet came up after some light research and supposedly it's no harder or easier than most instruments.
Has anyone ever played an instrument before? How was it? I'm still figuring out how to start if I do decide to go through with it.

I second this. If MS won't fix it then any sort of warranty it had is void anyways. It's worth it to at least see if a UBreakIFix will look at it. You could probably get it repaired by a 3rd party company.

Universal Studios just announced that they will be reopening their parks early June, which means the other two of the big three should be quick to follow in the near future. Speaking about one of them, Disney has still been posting on all their blogs certain status updates on those who are still working. The animal husbandry team has posted two new births in the Animal Kingdom park, both species are endangered so it's pretty amazing (and super cute) to see new life come out of all this. Baby Babirusa piglet named Kirana. And last month, a mountain zebra foal named Asha.

To be fair, deaths for literally everything else have dropped significantly regardless of time frame ( although suicide is on the rise but no one wants to mentions that). Car crashes, cancer, stroke, the flu, deaths by any of those are pretty low compared to other years. Its not the flu season?

The way I see it, that's all entirely dependent on how much you put into exercising. If you're spending let's say one hour a day for a year exercising and that gives you another ten years, I think most of us would say that's a pretty good deal considering all that exercising a year is 15 days total that you're trading for ten years. Of course I know fuck all about all that considering my exercise is just whatever is demanded of me physically at work and being out of work for two months I'm sure I've gained ten pounds just sitting on my ass playing Persona and shitposting. basically, the way i see it, the years you're adding to your life by exercising are being spent... exercising. so from my perspective, it all just seems like a senseless waste of time, so i can't even feel relieved when it's over
there's little difference to me between a man who dies at 60, never having taken care of himself, and a man who dies at 80, because he spent 20 of those years taking care of himself—the former individual just went through less trouble and tedium in his life, frankly

Removed. Spoiler Although I'm not too worried about it considering how early it happens into the show and I feel only drives my point home more. i'd have made sure to ask how far he's into the show before getting into plot details

Keep in mind my experience with the series is only with the first season of the anime and a few of the starting chapters in the manga. The basic plot of the show is fine, it's even unique I'd say. Story is pretty solid, art style is different, characters are "meh" but I've seen worse in a generic shounen. Most of my problems are just a collection of minor gripes that culminate together. The author says "don't worry guys, this series wont last as long as other big names like Naruto and Bleach!" and then proceeds to release a chapter once every three centuries; just enough time for the series to stay relevant without falling into obscurity. His mystery box bullshit goes on for way too long, an entire season and we're left with more questions and zero answers to anything. The bones they throw us just leave us more confused. And then there's the fucking fanbase. God almighty I haven't seen such a self-pleasuring group of fans from a series since Madoka Magica, and that's fucking saying something. Non stop threads and posts all over the internet about just how fucking good this show is, and did you even HEAR THAT FIRST OPENING?! I hate to bring up Eva, but Cruel Angel's Thesis didn't need to be forced down people's throat to be so popular that Korean marching bands play it, it became so while still being from a relatively niche series. How so?

You're doing the exact fucking opposite. Get a stable job and pay for your own expenses, including your living situation. Clean yourself up, don't do fucking drugs, maybe go back to school, anything other than what you've been doing for God knows how long. I know this is going to sound incredibly meme-like, but have you thought about maybe going into a religion? Maybe God (or whoever you pick) might be the one thing that finally pulls you out of this spiral of degeneracy and give you a sense of purpose since hedonism doesn't seem to be doing the trick. I just want to make you guys proud
