So Khara streamed the first 12 minutes and ten seconds of 3.0+1.0 on their official YouTube channel. It was the AVANT1 Paris preview and AVANT2 after all. AVANT2 is basically just an openings credits crawl with the three pilots wandering through the Tokyo-3 wasteland, pretty much all the scenes of the pilots wandering in the trailers are in AVANT2.

FURTHERMORE: The animated short "Until You Come To Me" that released all the way back in 2014 had scenes in it that are directly IN AVANT2. AVANT2 truly is the missing D-Part, or more accurately, a one minute montage of Shinji's wandering in the D-Part. Here's "Until You Come To Me" for anyone interested:



So even if you missed Khara's stream, just watch the first few minutes of this video and congratulations, you've pretty much seen AVANT2/the mssing D-Part.

People who go see the movie in theaters tomorrow can purchase a small 80-page pamphlet containing tons of spoilers. Just like what they did with the 3.0 pamphlet that was available back in 2012.

When I think about the narrative structure he's been sticking to for the four movies, it's actually more than just a Jo-Ha-Kyu, it's what's called Kishotenketsu where the first three parts of Jo, Ha and Kyu are more or less the same but the 4th portion is a journey or Michiyuki that usually has less dialogue than the rest. The theorized D part, being a long journey, would fit in with the 4-part structure perfectly well, and it might have even been capped off with a quick conclusion to Shinji's story with him meeting an adult Toji, Hikari and Kensuke and the Evangelion story coming to some kind of an end.

Why did Anno get rid of the D part he'd been working on - and for which Shiro Sagisu almost certainly brought in his arrangement of Londonderry Air (Danny Boy)? [Begin Speculation] I'm guessing it's because Anno made a decision to keep working on Evangelion no matter what. Had his depression really gotten the better of him, he might have pushed to finish the D part and conclude Evangelion's story with Shinji finding a place of happiness with the adult Toji, Kensuke and Hikari, leaving the entire Misato vs Gendo, Wille vs Nerv conflict to some kind of rushed, offscreen conclusion summing up all the things that would've otherwise gone into 3.0 + 1.0. That he made up his mind not to make up the D part meant that he had decided to commit himself to another movie, and he's done just that! [/End Speculation]

So the very fact that we're missing the D part may be a good thing, because we get a whole movie in the bargain. Had he finished the D part, we may have had a rushed and unsatsifying "goodbye, all of Evangelion" back in 2012.

Yet again, all of this is pure speculation on my part, but I have the feeling that the missing D part is a good thing!

Khara has announced that at midnight, March 8th, they will upload the first 12 minutes and 10 seconds (the AVANT 1 preview) of 3.0+1.0 to their YouTube channel.

Interesting fact of the day:

In EoE, you can see in quite good detail how the MPE's tear apart Unit 02. This is just what I was able to screencap but supposedly there's more in the small amount of time in the shot as well.

Q took forever to get a camrip and even then it was piss low quality; however that was eight years ago and if Heaven’s Feel is anything to go by, there should be camrips of important clips at least in the first week.

Hopefully we’ll get a US theatrical release within one to two months like Heaven’s Feel also.

DVD/BD release is a whole separate beast altogether.

I would've posted in the Eva general if Khara would pull their head out of their ass and begin to release the movie again.

I also pre-ordered the RX-78-2 PG Unleashed. I'm terrified of even opening this Exia box lol.

It looks great, it built great (save for the head), it feels great (save for the head). It's just that the articulation sucks, the parts are flimsy, and both of the advertised weapons are completely useless. I WANT to love this kit, especially since the Tristar blew away my expectations for HGs; but the time and effort to fix these issues are apparent.

I actually liked this kit, but it was one of the earlier kits I bought. The RG Char's z'gok is really good though

So I put together the High grade Char's Zaku II. It's Char's signature Mobile Suit so I was pretty excited after getting the wrap off the box and all the gates. With that being said....

Both the head fin and the mouth piece are so flimsy, they fall right off; I'm going to need to get glue for just these two pieces. Wait no! I need to get glue for the hand to connect to the rifle because it broke off making the rifle completely useless, the weight of the rifle completely rips the two pieces of the hand apart, I can't use the bazooka now either so either Char's posing no weapon, or just the shitty axe.

Speaking of the axe, it doesn't fit properly in the side waist like it says in the manual (the previous HG Zaku Tristar I built earlier doesn't have this problem at all), I actually need to fit it in the butt in order for it fit anywhere "properly" even if that's not where that's supposed to go. I don't event know what's supposed to go in the buttocks slot. The bazooka has a holder slot on the backpack which is nice, but the rifle gets absolutely nothing similar even though there's so much free real estate on the other side of the back pack.

The arms stick out from the body pretty far and it's quite noticeable, but God forbid the head get's the same treatment. It's far more restricted in movement than the Tristar and they're basically the same Mobile Suit and model kit! Reading the manual step-by-step for both and you'll find very little that's different. I learned the head wasn't properly attached yet because it kept falling off and when I finally snapped it into place properly it can't even turn 90 degrees whereas I can get the Tristar to go full circle.

I just don't get how two extremely similar HGs can be so different in quality, especially with the signature/more famous MS being the problem child. I didn't even put any more stickers other than two on because I was so disappointed in this kit.
