Throw a few crouches in there.
Get used to Bumper Jumper so you can jump around while strafing, without taking your thumb off the stick.
Don't move left to right at a predictable distance.

So is the Mark IV going to be a REQ thing, or just handed out when the CU drops?

the lancer is just a regular gun with a chainsaw tacked on for the sake of being different
the grenades are grenades
the digger is like, the only weapon that's somewhat different
the boomshot isn't anything special or unique

Gears in general is garbage

I dunno.  A shotgun that can cross-map, but only when you're host, is pretty unique tbh fam.

Gaming / Re: 2015's biggest turd/dissapointment?
« on: December 07, 2015, 03:17:17 PM »
What exactly sets Battlefield apart from other shooters?

-Massive scale, comparatively.  So, less arena-based.  Up to 64 players on a single map, compared to CoD, which is like 16 max.
-The distinctions between each class is a lot more significant than something like CoD -> each class has completely different types of weapons, as well as gadgets which determine their overall role to the team.
-Focus on cinematic moments: visual effects and modifiers to players based on stuff like suppression -> bullets whizzing by your head will make your screen blur and shake as well as affect your accuracy and health regeneration.
-Interactive and destructible environments.

Take a quick look at the difference in pacing from like a minute from each video.  They look very similar, but the way the players move around and handle combat are completely different.  It depends on the map, but Battlefield is so much about handling yourself during clusterfucks, whereas CoD is based around frantically running around and isolating enemies.

Hardloins is definitely a massive turd, but that was established so quickly after its announcement, so I wouldn't call it a disappointment.

I'd call Evolve the biggest disappointment: at least Battlefront has more than 3 people playing it worldwide after a few weeks.

The Flood / Re: Most painful moment of your life? Surgery/Accidents etc
« on: December 06, 2015, 11:07:02 PM »
Fell off a longboard on the way to one of my classes: all my weight went onto my knee.  Brushed it off, and walked about a mile no problem.  Halfway through class, I cross my leg and feel + hear a snap.  I got really dizzy and spent the next 30 mins in a calc lecture trying to focus and not puke on my desk from the pain.

Then I tried to straighten my leg and stand up, and could barely do it.  For about a month or two, I felt pretty intense pain for every time I bent or straightened my knee.  Such an anti-climactic injury compared to the other ones I've had, but it was so much more painful and lasting than the others.

I figure it'd have to be a game where it's understandable that no one could possibly enjoy it.  So something like an amateur Flash game that constantly crashes or something.

Water and green tea.  Sometimes I'll add Mio Energy to my water on mornings where I don't have time to brew anything.

kek, the lead singer of Breaking Benjamin (remember them?) was complaining EA wanted to pay him to say good stuff about Battlefront. This is what he thinks about the game.
those comments tho

"Yo man go get a fucken life you ruined Star Wars for breaking the game oh wait did ur ugly ass face make the piece pop off or was it your hot breath and they probably ruined the game for asking you to review it"

That doesn't make much sense, since they're masters of adaptation.

Gaming / Re: Favorite glitches in games?
« on: December 04, 2015, 05:12:02 PM »
Mostly a fan of glitches that involve breaking out of levels and having room to explore the background:

-The fact that you could access OoB areas of pretty much any Halo 3 map by merging a dude on a turret through a wall in Forge.

-Halo 3's interlocking, floating objects, geomerging, and ghost merging, aka the inspiration to Reach's forge mode.

-Tony Hawk levels were extremely easy to break, and you could explore some really trippy stuff.

-Gears of War crab walking, and breaking out of Subway by sniper spawn.

Any chance there'll be a decent File Share system in the game with Forge?

My parents have Comcast, and don't mind the fact that they get fucked by them.  Apparently they're now going to start enforcing data caps on unlimited plans?

They're fucking annoying with their representatives, too.  They came to my door like 5 or 6 times, asking why I chose my current, better provider; I told the last guy that it's because Comcast is literally cancer.
