Wasn't a fan of the whole stunlocking thing that certain guns seem to do, makes diving into cover almost impossible even at a distance.

It's like they wanted to get rid of strafing and ducking for cover.  Sure, it's more realistic to get picked off while you're running, but it diminishes skill, adds frustration when you die like that, and lessens the value of a kill. I don't see who wins with that.  The people complaining about netcode, I guess?

In terms of netcode/bugs, I highly doubt this game will have the problems BF4 had at launch.  Betting that DICE LA gave this game a lot of love and even EA probably wanted to take the time to make this perfect.

Still had a huge problem with this game's time to kill.  I thought Hardline's was too fast, and this feels like double that.

I like how the thing this program is most susceptible to (bandwagoners arbitrarily shutting down things they don't like) is acknowledged very clearly by the video shutting off comments.

Well right now we're trying to figure out who's the cutest boy on the forum, if that helps your decision.

Genji, Hanzo, McCree, Reaper, and Soldier are pretty much the same height, muscularity, etc. and she's arguing as if  Zarya, Mei and Ana don't exist.

In recognizing a pattern, she's definitely not wrong, but she's arguing that there's ZERO diversity

Try reading the last paragraph..

Ah. Ran out of time and missed that part.
I still think it's ridiculous to open up with "look at what this game does wrong. There's ZERO inclusivity."  And then end off with "weeellll okay, there's SOME, but it could be better".  Not a good way to structure an argument.

Cant watch the video right now, buut:

I mean those female characters that she picked out all have the same-ish body types, but a lot of the male ones are same-ish, too.

Genji, Hanzo, McCree, Reaper, and Soldier are pretty much the same height, muscularity, etc. and she's arguing as if  Zarya, Mei and Ana don't exist.

In recognizing a pattern, she's definitely not wrong, but she's arguing that there's ZERO diversity (when she says something like "all of their female characters") which isn't true.  She's picking a handful of the male cast (either gigantuan Reinheart, or stumpy Torbjoen) to point out diversity among men, and ignoring the (albeit smaller) handful of diverse women (the tall and muscular woman, the short and chubby woman, and the old lady).

Life is so much easier if you associate math subjects with more than arbitrary variable semantics.

And non curved lower case t is pleb-tier improper backwater trash caligraphy.

Gaming / Re: What would you consider game of the decade?

When taking into account the standards they set at their time, I would consider Halo 2 pretty monumental. It had a booming community, an excellent expansion of the already popular universe (albeit a bad ending), and was essentially the first iteration of most of Xbox Live's features.

Make poses, maybe a wallpaper, and probably put it up for download.  It's mostly for fun.

Blog thread, but am open to criticism.  I'll be updating whenever I feel like working on this.

Progress of my newest project:

With lighting + global illumination:

It's the silver sword from the Witcher 3 intro.  It's at around 800 polys, which I haven't tried to reduce yet.  I still need to add the engraving and touch up a lot of the edges.

I plan on making the sword really detailed, and then work on a cartoonish Geralt and dumb the sword down from there.

i have no clue what youre on about. seems pretty off base from what we're talking about.

i expect friends to act as extended family, and there's nothing a family member could do that would make me betray them. i offer the same thing in return to them.
It's really not.  In your case, blindly supporting your friend for doing something that hurts his wife is not only unhelpful of you, but selfish of him if he actually expects you to support him for that.  Just because you point out his flaws doesn't mean you're a bad friend.  It makes you an honest friend.  Treating someone like family doesn't mean to quietly let them be a fuckup and coddle them through it, because that's not support.

i don't know why you think that's what i'm saying

and i think you can only really be someone's friend if you support them in everything -- even when they're wrong.

and i think that's what defines friendship

Because I have/had friends that fit your original description.  They expect loyalty: for other people to validate them, even when they're 100% in the wrong.

It's pretty selfish and immature to blame people for not blindly having your back before accepting the notion that you might be wrong.  If you're the kind of person to stubbornly drop other people from your life or devalue relationships because you can't accept your own flaws and influences on other people, you have a lot more problems in regards to friendship than the person who's not loyal enough.

There's a huge difference between supporting someone and being their servant.  Being someone's yes-man keeps them from ever having to grow or take responsibility for themselves.  It's selfish of them, and unhelpful of you.

I have some friends who're like that, and it's obvious that they're thin-skinned and defensive, so they keep people close to justify their blatantly wrong actions.  I still have their backs, accept them, and support them, but they're not always right.  Your problem isn't with not being able to go to your friends: your problem is that you can't take criticism.

That's a yes-man, not a friend.

you have a poor definition of friendship if yours doesn't include loyalty
I'm pretty loyal when it matters.  You've got a pretty selfish definition if you expect friends to blindly approve of everything you do and heat up every time you're forced to have a speck of introspection.
