Ugh, I still can't find games to save my life.  It's been a little better starting yesterday, but I still only manage to find one game every 25 minutes of searching or so.  And even then, the games themselves are really glitchy: can't respawn, teams divided awkwardly, game ends out of nowhere, game crashes, etc...  Plus, just basic menu navigation is all fucked up.

Apparently, someone went into Ranked H2A Oddball, and when the game started, they were playing Forge.

Hate it

Did you play the beta, did you already play the full game, no so just play the beta and see if you like it or not.

-You can't have an opinion just by watching other players extensively.  Wait until the beta.
-It's still an early build.  You can't hate it yet.  Buy the final game.
-There's probably a patch coming soon.  Wait until then.
-Adapt.

Why is everyone comparing this to S&D?

There's not even an objective. I'd compare it more to Gears' slayer mode considering the lead MP designer on Halo 5 was lead MP designer at Epic.

You mean Team Deathmatch.

Except there's no 15 lives to share across the team..
Nope, I think he means Warzone/Execution.
It matters.

You should be careful, I'm sure Ubisoft will charge you $9.99 for every screen you take without their permission.

I'm pretty sure Halo 3 had that exact gametype as a default Slayer variant, called "Elimination", minus the whole "let's be a twitch shooter" shield deduction.  Gee, I wonder why that was never popular in previous Halos.

Game crashed when I switched to new graphics around the trigate.  Couldn't see if it was there.

For some reason it keeps doing that: every time I get to the very end of Delta Halo, the game crashes on me.

I can go check if you tell me where to find it.
I'm not sure how to give directions to where its at.

Its under the lake(duh) and its somewhere near the chasm where you activate the bridge.

Yeah, but how do you get under the lake?  I sifted through a bunch of 2006-2008 videos (which all had either Requiem for a Dream or Let the Bodies Hit the Floor as their background music) on tri-gate/triangles, and didn't find anything useful.

Edit:
Is it this by any chance?

The game is incredibly buggy right now, but the single player elements are great.  The game feels amazing at 60 FPS.  Forge is beautiful: the new terrain pieces let you make really good looking landscapes in 30 seconds, plus the scripting element is awesome: dynamic switches used to be the only thing I felt that forge maps were missing.

Bugs include:
-Matchmaking search time taking forever
-Can't join friends while they're in an open custom game
-You can cheat the ranking system
-Campaign freezes sometimes
-Joining friends can be really fucked up: it'll say you're in a lobby, but you're not, and therefore can't join.
-Matchmaking teams get split awkwardly: I searched for a BTB match, and the game distributed players among the teams unevenly from the start.  Searched again in BTB, and it turned an 8v8 into a 1v3v1v2v1v2 multi-team match.

Gaming / Re: How do you rank the Halo games?

H3 > H2 > H:CE > ODST > Reach > H4

Reach and 4 are both shit, but Reach has infinitely better custom games.

Multiplayer is bonked right now.  Played a few 1v1's on H2A and H3 though, and it's excellent.

Outskirts and Metropolis are beautiful.  They look like they've been taken straight out of the first H3:ODST trailer.  They've added a bunch of nods to that game, like the banners with emblems for the police force, etc...  That's amazing detail right there.

Gaming / Re: Anyone else having MCC matchmaking issues?

Went into BTB, and the teams were split into 8 teams.  Your teammates were whoever was in your party.  Wat.

Also search times are beyond slow right now.

Don't really care.  Halo 2 and 3 were my favorite games to play online, and my options are either play them at improved framerates/resolutions with an active online community, or play a version where I'm lucky to play against a bunch of Mexican hostbooters.

Smart scope is quite a bit of screen clutter, but it's a pretty good looking alternative to a black-screen scope, plus you still descope: thank god it's not traditional ADS.  Etc...
Please stop calling it this. It makes me want to kill something.

It's not smart, it's literally as dumb/simplified as you can get when it comes to using a scope.

I'd say a holographic scope that target locks, displays weapon info, etc... that is built into your helmet is pretty smart.

Just noticed this: right above the shield meter, there's a thin line that counts down how long it'll take for your shields to start recharging.

Overall, I'd say, based on what I've seen, the changes are fair enough of a compromise.  I'm not a fan of sprint, but I'm glad they nerfed it, plus it looks a bit slower than it used to be.  Smart scope is quite a bit of screen clutter, but it's a pretty good looking alternative to a black-screen scope, plus you still descope: thank god it's not traditional ADS.  Etc...

I really hope shoulder charge + ground pound aren't annoying as fuck.

Killcam is back, which is a ballsy move, since they're hard to implement very well.

All those abilities you saw in the first trailer are in the game

-Sprint: shields don't recharge if you sprint
-Vault: you can now climb up edges if you press a button when you hit one
-Ground pound: you float in midair and have to land directly on someone, while a target shows up on everyone's screen
-Shoulder charge: sprint + melee to throw yourself at someone
-Slide: if you sprint for a minute, and then crouch, you will do a powerslide
-ADS is on all guns.  They call it the "Smart Scope", but you will be descoped out of it if shot, and you retain all the same traits of someone out of zoom
-Everyone has thrusters that move in all directions
-New claw-sword is called the Prophet's Bane, which has increased lunge-range when you use smart scope with it

-New medal: "Perfect kill": 4 shot someone with the BR (probably also applies to other guns)
-Every game has an opening and closing cinematic with your team.  Much like Destiny's, where all players strike a pose.
-That new rocket launcher locks onto other players.  Looks like you can break that lock by using a thruster.
-There's a meter above your shields that tells you how long it'll take for your shields to start recharging

-Killcam is back
-Halo 5 will have spectator mode

[adding more as I go]
