Ubisoft.  They've taken all the most frowned upon aspects of any other publisher, and combined them, all while acting like they've reinvented the wheel.

I feel like some people have hardware problems... The game does have bugs, yes. But they are easily navigate-able and are being fixed.
I've got pretty good college internet speeds, a good router, my ports forwarded, open NAT, an Xbone with no defects, etc... and it takes 25 mins to find a game if I'm lucky.  I can also go on any other multiplayer game and find a match in seconds.  My hardware is definitely not the issue, and I would definitely not call these bugs navigate-able.

It's a buggy mess right now.  Game crashes pretty often, and it's incredibly difficult for a lot of people to find games in matchmaking.  343 claims to be working around the clock with Microsoft to fix all the issues, but who knows how long that'll take.  So if 343 can fix their shit before Christmas or if you can find enjoyment out of the non-matchmade features for a while, then yes, I'd say it's worth playing.

Why the fuck can't I use Jetpack in Halo 4? That's complete bullshit. It feels so grounded. It's like if they removed jumping from Halo 3. I've had 2 years of playing Halo 4 exclusively using jetpack familiarizing myself with all the jumps and strategies and little nuances of jetpacks vertical movement and 343 just takes it away.
Because armor abilities are for bks.

Then don't put Halo 4 at all.
But Halo 4 not being Halo 4 sounds like it could actually be a tiny bit enjoyable.

Just because everyone hated the mechanics doesn't mean they couldn't figure them out.  A lot of people who trashed bloom, armor lock, etc... back in the day were top percentile Onyx players.

Those workarounds are also extremely one-dimensional.  Not every situation is that black and white, so your workarounds don't really account for the several other scenarios where those mechanics do nothing but frustrate players and damage the overall flow of the game.

2005 Jeep Wrangler.
It's a pretty cool car, but it's not very practical.  It's not very good on gas, top-heavy, can't turn on a dime, etc... It costs me like $110 to make a trip to college that would cost my friends like $40.  It's the kind of car that's fun for summer joyriding and off-roading, though.

A 523MB patch came out today, apparently.  People still saying they're having a hard time finding games.  Bravo said patch notes will be listed shortly.

Also, there's a rumor that we could be getting some kind of compensation for this whole issue, based on a statement that Bonnie Ross made.  It could easily be nothing to get excited about, though, because it's not hard to read too far into it and say "FREE PRESENTS".

« on: November 26, 2014, 06:42:19 PM »
Halo 4 is fine Post TU without infinity settings. Legndary slayer has literally nothing wrong.
In fact the one good thing about the settings MCC Halo 4 uses is the lack of ordnance
Haven't found a single game of H4 in MCC yet, but I've been hearing that it is more based on its classic modes, rather than Infinity and loadout stuff.  If that's the case, then I wouldn't have the biggest gripe with it, especially in modes like BTB.  I still wish they'd allow Promod, though.

Most overrated game of all time, besides half life
To be fair, I don't think Half Life would be as overrated if the internet didn't spew obnoxious "hahaha Half Life 3 confirmed because 1+2 = ILLERMINERTY" memes.

Gaming / Re: So Halo 4 was going to have killstreaks
« on: November 26, 2014, 06:33:44 PM »
Maybe people are "throwing a fit", because it represents the rest of Halo 4's uncut and grotesque additions/inspirations perfectly.  Just a thought.
So something that no longer exists represents tangible features in a game?
It accurately represents where those tangible features got their inspirations from, yes.
You honestly think they built a prototype of a killstreak and then decided to add in custom loadouts and unlockables because of that now non-existent feature?

I feel like everyone here is a bit dense on the reasons behind Halo 4's "radical" changes.
I didn't say those new features were derived from killstreaks.  I'm saying that they are all bastardized products of 343's entire design direction, and are united by the exact same inspiration.  This only makes it more clear the extent they went to, and the time they spent on implementation, in order to clone CoD/generic shooters.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess the people that are "throwing a fit" aren't too pleased with the final product for what it is, not for what was tested and scrapped.  It's not even a gripe about that one specific cut mechanic, even though you treat it like it is, but rather about all of the mechanics that did make the cut, and were drawn from the exact same source.

I don't get how you can look at this, and not understand how someone could possibly be upset with a direction that a form of media took and be a little disgusted when they see something furthering that (relatively) godawful direction.

Also, It's cute how you consider "the fuck?", "glad they scrapped it", and "why..." as "everyone having a fit".  Bit too defensive, there.
