How much tea do you go though?  Do you drink enough to make up 80% of India's GDP?  Or have you been taking microscopic sips out of the same cup the whole time?

I need this information.

Don't know about the Wii Pad, but MP1 and 2 had pretty solid controls.  Can you use a Gamecube controller?  3 was a little awkward with the motion controls and whatnot.

I've never had my waiter be an outright asshole, but if they were (like, I'm talking harassing me or my company, etc... not just being slightly rude), then I could give two shits if they needed that money to survive.

It's a retarded system, but I'm not going to be the cheap asshole, especially on something like a date-night.
That said, I do normally write "math", where it asks you to write the total.

Here you go.  I'd be careful and not use all of it at once, in case a fuckup happens.  Also, they take forever to take effect, so don't get impatient and start downing brownies.

the new movement system, which is sex compared to the previous games,
You mean magnetising to walls and climbing up everything?
Overall input was shit in AC I - Revelations.  Felt clunky and friction-y.  If you ran into something tiny like a flagpole, or a thin tree, Conner would just automatically throw himself around it, while Ezio would smash into it, stop there, and try to wall-run up it.  Plus, you had to hold several buttons down to do basic navigation: that's just unnecessary.  Navigating the forest in AC III felt pretty smooth (it'd feel smooth in the city if they weren't wide ass dirt roads).

I liked the really subtle changes to movement, where they placed the camera, how you could press LT to snap the camera to a more action-shot, how you could hold RT + A/B to do flashy jumps over/under obstacles.

Also, it was pretty cool how you could magnetize (I assume you're referring to snapping to cover, not buggy free-running) around corners, or between people doing stuff against walls and you'd "interact" with them (ex, you could lean on someone's trading booth and blend with the people in front of it in certain scenarios, etc...).

Also, I'm a little biased because I lived in the area.

I liked AC3.  Not for its story, or for how horribly they introduced new tools (here's some new toys...you'll never need them after right now), but it introduced the new movement system, which is sex compared to the previous games, and the engine is very shiny.

Collector's Edition, though?  God no.  The DLC for that game is just retarded.

If they were on your file share before Bungie cut their Halo support, then yes.

I don't ever drink, but I enjoy being around intoxicated people (like at a LAN party or something). It's like free entertainment.
That's exactly what one of my roommates does.  He sits with the rest of us and tries to instigate getting blackout drunk.

Verbatim.  You don't take 2 sips and lose control of your bodily movements and become 100% irrational.  It's kinda the whole point of drinking responsibly™.  No one's trying to turn you into an alcoholic, but you should really be more considerate and open-minded about people's lifestyle choices.  If you're going to say that people aren't intelligent for harming their body like that, then you might as well be saying anyone who eats even semi-unhealthy, doesn't exercise regularly, and spends too much free time staring at internet forums isn't intelligent either.

Consider finding a community to play with.  I know the online games that I play are so much more tolerable if the people on your team talk at all: even if they don't contribute anything to the team or say anything useful, it's so much better, and more calming, knowing there's a person listening to you.

Gaming / Re: >yfw you find out Sprint will remain in Halo 5
« on: February 02, 2015, 03:57:50 PM »
To be fair, every Halo has had some different tweaks to mechanics that have drastically changed the skill gap.  Halo 2 had weird hitboxes, but had a hitscan BR.  Halo 3 had shitty netcode and spread-y BR, but better aim assist/bullet magnetism levels.  Both H2 and H3 were still very competitive because they still had an incredible emphasis on map control, movement/strafing, communication, predictability/even starts, etc... and weren't too bogged down by randomness.

Reach and 4 became a problem when randomness was kicked into high gear, aim assist was turned back up, movement was awkward, bloom on single-shot precision weapons made fights about risk-vs-reward in terms of controlling rate of fire, equal starts were removed, automatic weapons were buffed to the same level as guns with more complexity, etc...  The vanilla games encouraged abusing randomness and casual mechanics more than it did soft-skills like communication.

Overall, I'd say Halo 5 has done infinitely more good than harm.  It might still have sprint, but I think the very low aim assist, return to equal starts, good base movement speeds + movement acceleration (something that Reach fucked up), etc... make up for something.  At least in Halo 5, I definitely feel an emphasis in teamwork, like old times.

Nonetheless, you'd be out of your mind if you thought any console shooter was more competitive than something like Quake.

Gaming / Re: What do you think of this statement?
« on: February 02, 2015, 03:15:49 PM »
I dunno.  I think games should be judged by where the developer's focus was put.  I don't think it's fair to criticize a game, while ignoring what could make up most, if not, all of its content.  Would you say games like Planetside 2, World of Warcraft, Counter Strike, etc... are bad games, solely because they have no/little single player content, and their servers could go down one day?  I wouldn't; they're just different kinds of games for different kinds of people.

Personally, I think games like Battlefield would be better off if they stopped wasting time and resources on lackluster campaigns that a lot of people disregard anyways, so they could deliver a better multiplayer.  Just like how some games should stop wasting time and resources on tacking on a lackluster multiplayer, if they're going for a good single player experience.

Also: can you give me an example of an online-only game (or one that doesn't have enough single player content to hold its own) that has lost its entire community, and was rendered unplayable, faster than the price dropped below £60?

Lastly, there are quite a few single player games that would be a £60 brick if the authentication servers crashed.
