The Flood / Re: To all of my haters
« on: February 21, 2015, 01:35:10 PM »
I don't have anything against you, but you really gotta stop making all these threads about it.

The only way I can do that is if people stop and let bygones be bygones, yet they still love to continue.

I may have half the forum muted with True mute enabled, but one fatal flaw is the thread titles they have.

Spoiler
I'm no meme. If anyone says otherwise, they're an idiot.

The threads are never going to change anything.  And no one's opinion of you, or actions, are going to get any better if you spam the forum with the same topic.  You're just drawing more attention to yourself.

Zuko.  He was the best developed character, IMO.  Those episodes where he was doing his own thing in the Earth kingdom were pretty well written.

Yeah, early access games are a scam.
I only consider the ones that are practically done, or have proven to be incredibly long lasting in the state that they're in.  The only ones I can think of that are worth the money are Star Citizen and Rust.

The Flood / Re: Stories About Being Bullied.

Went to Catholic school for my first 2 years of high school.  Got in a few fights because I had a big mouth towards the kids who thought they were the toughest shits to be attending a Catholic school in "the ghetto" (not the ghetto).

There was this one kid who was like stereotype cartoon bully: 3x my size (super fatty), who was the dumbest shit I've ever seen, who thought he was tough shit.  I ran into him 2 years ago: he was stuffed into this tiny cyan employee t-shirt at a clothes store, and sold me my winter jacket.  That was funny.

Gaming / Re: IMO on Halo 4.
« on: February 19, 2015, 04:34:43 PM »
Campaign was pretty decent, but not fantastic, and I don't value the Halo games by their 3-4 hour linear campaigns.  I personally don't think that justifies the $60 purchase.

A good multiplayer can keep me invested for hundreds to thousands of hours, and that was not Halo 4.  I thought practically every aspect of Halo 4's multiplayer was a downgrade.  Reach had a shitty competitive multiplayer, full of randomness, and hand-holding, but I still got my money out of it, because its Forge and custom games were phenomenal (albeit, pretty gray).

Halo 4 had incredibly limited options for custom games (no such thing as asymmetrical gametypes, most basic traits and features like alpha zombies had to be modded in, etc...).  Plus (and Reach suffered from this too), the custom games community was practically dead, because the matchmaking community suffered such huge hits.  The competitive multiplayer took 2 steps back for every mistake they fixed from Reach and previous titles, and brought hand-holding to a whole new level for the series.

343 has been shit at damage control, in the past, as well.  I'm not directly talking about the times they've dropped the ball over things like DLC fiascoes, either.  They thought appealing to the competitive community, when they were handling Reach and H4's playlists, meant making the 1 stigmatic "you're gonna get raped by tryhards" playlist, and calling it a day, even though they played nothing like the other 95% of the game, and basically told the average player to avoid it like the plague.  I wonder if the playlist manager read the forums, made that one playlist, and thought "now they'll have nothing to bitch about."

Well mechanical keyboards feel like fingerporn.  It's something about that click that makes them feel really good.  That as well as the features that come with some: USB ports, headset jacks, additional keys (macro keys), additional functions, etc...

Expensive mice with different levels of DPI and polling rates is like the difference between how well you notice 30 FPS and 60 FPS.  Some people are sticklers about how precise their mouse is.  Ergonomics is also really important, and plays a big part into the mouse that I buy, personally.

That said, I found a really good mouse, that fits really well, has good DPI/polling, and has other good features (6 extra buttons, customizable LEDs, customizable weights, etc...) for $30.

I consider myself a nerd, but not a loser.
Oxymoron.
Not really.  I'm pretty sociable, have a life, am not socially retarded, but have interests in nerdy things like video games, online forums, computers/programming, etc...

I consider a loser as someone who has nothing going for them.

Not at all.  I've been around for a long time, but comparatively, I'm a lurker.  Pretty sure most people here and on Bnet don't really notice me.

The Flood / Re: I'm having computer problems.
« on: February 17, 2015, 06:01:28 PM »
It's hard to get a feel for what's exactly wrong with your system, so start by doing this:

Do you use (a good) antivirus?  Try a sweep.
Is your C drive at capacity?  Try running Disk Cleanup, and getting rid of unneeded files.
Then try running Disk Defragmenter.

Then try the Check Disk command (open up the command prompt (press the start menu and look for "cmd.exe")):
Type the commands "chkdsk /f C:", which will look through your C drive (assuming you have Windows installed on the C drive) and find/repair any disk errors.  If you're using the disk at the time (which you should be, since your OS is on it), it should ask you if you'd like to have it checked when the system is restarted.

Try going into the task manager, with nothing else open, see how much CPU and RAM is being used.  See what processes are taking up your computer (if the problem is related to a virus/rootkit, this step probably won't matter, since they'll be hidden processes)

Looks like a cheap cash grab.  It looks like it could be pretty entertaining...just not justified to be a $60 game, nor a $60 game with like $100 worth of microtransactions.

Personally, 20 minutes into the beta bored me.  I don't think being a monster is an engaging or fun challenge, just a frustrating "swat at fucking pesky flies" kind of challenge.  I'm not saying those 20 mins were enough for me to have a final word, but those are my first impressions.

I think muting is completely unnecessary, especially on a site this small: deal with people.  If they go over the edge, get a mod to step in.  It's the equivalent of running away from your problems, and it makes it pretty weird for everyone else.

Forum ranks?  Who cares?  You should be more concerned with the people you meet and the conversations you have, because they're the only things to take away from the site.
