Peaches n' Skeet.

Not really sure.  I took some astronomy and geology classes my freshman year of college: those were extremely interesting.  Astronomy was like "fun-fact...the class", and we just learned about distant planets and planetesimals (I think the most interesting topic was Enceladus).  In geology, we traveled to regions around Massachusetts and saw exactly how it was formed throughout Earth's history.

Graphics programming is really cool, and network programming has shown me how much more complicated networked games are, code-wise, than non-networked games.  I've taken classes on system architecture, dissecting computers down to the core, working in Assembly, and seeing how computers work at their most basic level.

I thought the part of Calculus II, where you learn to find volumes of solids around an axis, to be the most interesting thing I've learned in a traditional math class.  Linear Algebra applied to 3D math is also extremely cool stuff.

If it makes you feel any better, 2 of my classes required that I write 1500 word papers at one point, and now they're making me write 1000 word summaries of those 1500 word papers.  Like...that's just the essay without some extra fluff...just read the original fucking paper.

Isn't that the guy who rage quit after making more stupid statements, and being overly dramatic on social media? Who also was accused of rigging an indie competition for Fez? Who happened to be in a film stating that "he has no money" when he has an iMac, consoles and a large apartment filled with his hipster swag?

Pretty much.  He's the overconfident douchebag designer who was commonly shit on for treating Fez like the second coming of Jesus.

Not an actual quote.  It was a joke.  Just seems like something he'd say.  He probably has.

You said it never floods in your state history.  What if you move?  Vacation?  I dunno.  I find it depressing: you see an extremely limited amount of the world and don't experience much or try anything new.

Quote
why wouldn't i take it

you don't have to swim on a cruise
I don't know.  I'm asking you: why wouldn't you?
The cruise thing factors into the "if something goes wrong" list.  It's irrelevant, because it's the exact same argument as falling into a lake.  Accidents happen.

Quote
not really
Not really what?  It's not really fun?  It's subjective, have you ever tried it?  If not, how would you know?  I didn't think it'd be fun, but my dad bought a kayak when I was a kid: some of my favorite memories are kayaking on bright summer mornings with my family, friends, past girlfriends, etc... over the years and soaking in the atmosphere, finding islands and hanging out, etc...

Or there aren't really a ton of examples?  That's debatable, but I guess it's somewhat subjective if you never plan on mixing things up.

You go somewhere that floods?
never in my state's history
Quote
You fall in a lake?
i'd have to be the dumbest cunt ever
Quote
You go fishing, kayaking, rafting, on a cruise, on a ferry, etc... and something goes wrong?
fishing is wrong, kayaking is pointless, rafting is pointless, and i don't plan on ever going on a cruise/ferry in my life
Quote
You fall in a pool and don't want to go through the inconvenience of choking and having a panic attack?
why would i fall in a pool
and you don't need to know how to swim to save yourself in a pool
Quote
Etc... I dunno, I assume even you'd be open to the possibility of maybe leaving the conditions you are currently in at some point in your life, go somewhere/do something new, etc...
sure, but that doesn't really mean anything

So lemme get this straight.  You plan on never leaving your state, ever?  That's depressing.

No one actively makes the decision to fall into a body of water, especially without knowing how to swim, but it happens.  It doesn't make you an idiot either: people trip and fall, people get pushed, etc...

Spending your time on internet forums is pointless, but you do it anyways; kayaking and rafting might be "pointless", but I recommend trying it: it's fun, plus kayaking is extremely relaxing, and is an incredibly good workout.  Ferries are also commonly used for transporting: would you rather drive several hours around a lake, or take a ferry through it for like $20?

Lets say you get invited on a free cruise, say by the company you work for or something: you wouldn't take it?  That's depressing.

Either way, they're just examples.  There are a ton of examples where you experience bodies of water, unless you plan on your life staying relatively the same for the rest of time.  Regardless of whether or not it actually saves your life, I'd recommend trying something beyond basic swimming lessons: it's a shitload of fun.

I'm not saying it's something to be laughed at if you can't, but to pretend like it's unfathomable how it could possibly save your life in very realistic situations is hilarious.

Plus you missed out: some of the most fun I had as a kid was in my old pool.  It never got old for me.
when did i say it couldn't save your life

never

my life doesn't need to be saved, because i'm NEVER IN FUCKING WATER
and even then, i already fucking said that i can swim now

Woah now, no need to get so worked up.

So it's a "completely useless skill", that can save your life in several very realistic situations?

I don't know?  You go somewhere that floods?  You fall in a lake?  You go fishing, kayaking, rafting, on a cruise, on a ferry, etc... and something goes wrong?  You fall in a pool and don't want to go through the inconvenience of choking and having a panic attack before you fish yourself out, or someone else does?  Someone else is drowning?  Etc... I dunno, I assume even you'd be open to the possibility of maybe leaving the conditions you are currently in at some point in your life, go somewhere/do something new, etc...
