Yet you two still shit on the Master Chief Collection for being broken

Can you say hippocrisy?

The problems weren't as noticeable on the master race, and weren't nearly as severe overall.  At least you could get into a game to be frustrated with.

has it occurred to you that being challenged and trying to get better and better at games is fun?

everyone plays video games for fun. we just all have different ideas about what's fun. "i dont play competitively because i play for fun" is a poorly thought out excuse.

I'm not saying the automatics are better, I'm saying they shouldn't be, ever.  They're there for people who can't be bothered to use more than 3 brain cells at any given time.  The average player recognizes that, and puts their faith in their ability to aim.

You're still oversimplifying precision weapons.

Why isn't it called Windows 9?
Legacy code (Win 95 and 98) compatibility issues.

Unless a player had extraordinarily shit aim, all BR duels were down to whoever got the first shot off
lol.

Quote
There is literally no situation in which an AR or SMG will outgun the BR, because they both strip shields at a similar rate, but the BR has a potential 1 shot kill once shields are down, whereas the AR does not.
That's the point.  The AR and SMG are guns with no risk, and not a great reward.  You have to be completely thumbless to miss with these guns.  That shouldn't be rewarded better than a gun that isn't as forgiving.

You're oversimplifying precision weapons.  I have a very hard time believing that you constantly pull 4 shot kills on competent players.

I'm just saying. There ARE real causes on crowd-funding websites. I don't really think there should be anything but these sorts of causes on them, but whatever.
Only reason I don't care about that is because Kickstarter and Indie GoGo campaigns require the backers to be paid back, or the promise fulfilled, in some way.

Number 19.  Just an example, though.  A ton of AAA video games have ridiculously massive budgets.

Uh huh.  Either way, it's the entertainment industry, so of course it's not going to cancer.  That's not what those people are paying for, and it's not a real donation or cause: it's a glorified pre order.  The American Cancer Society doesn't promise you a product or your money back.  It's no different than "a dumb game" like Pokemon Red/Blue having a $50+ mil budget, except the promises and advertisements are happening earlier in development and they're focused directly on consumers rather than on publishers and then eventually consumers.

good thing none of that $4m was mine

Sorry.  CLEARLY should have known you were just talking about the $4m that funded the tutorial.

Yup so different from praising a platformer for 20 minutes for introducing the idea of jumping without telling you.

Your game collection must be depressingly small if you judge how disappointing a game is by its tutorial.

Gaming / Re: This is what $4 million in crowdfunding gets you.

"A minute" used in the context of "a moment".  Nitpicking.

Better call up Egoraptor, because Halo CE's genius design added walls so players could figure out that they can't walk through them, and it didn't even have to tell them.

So far, I'm seeing how Episode One is only considered "okay" by people.
They probably watched some speedrunners doing the accelerated back hopping.  Levels are pretty boring that way.

Gaming / Re: This is what $4 million in crowdfunding gets you.

Praising a game for making players sit for a minute in front of some boxes to figure out the jump button is nitpicking.  Such an experience.

I'm still not going to judge the pacing of the entire game by its tutorial.  That's just ridiculous.

How engaging do people normally expect level 1 to be?
In the same level as Halo CE and Cod 2.

By "level 1" meaning the tutorial, or the first few minutes...so the cryo room?  Yeah, super engaging.  Heart racing and palms furiously sweating.

Focusing on what's in the level is a bit different when it's all being skipped, exploited, killed off-screen, or blown up in 2 frames.  My god.

MN9 is a digitially distributed game for several platforms, some with input devices with way more buttons than a SNES controller, and doesn't ship with a manual.  You're making a big deal out of nothing on that.

Pointless dialogue
the graphics suck
doesn't feel nearly as fast-paced as it should
He walks slow and everything looks so floaty

Thank you, legitimate criticisms.  All I was asking for.

Wasn't directed at you.  Everyone says the BR is OP even though it isn't.

After you play a few matches, the automatic weapons get stale.  You're just bum-rushing to your death, hoping to catch the enemy choke up.  There's practically no aiming involved, and 2 autos fighting each other is essentially what you described with the shotgun: who shot who first.

Precision weapons have a lot more of a skill gap to them.  They're big for their risk vs reward ideology: there's a huge meta-game behind them, where you need to perfect both your ability to aim flawlessly for a 4 shot kill, and be able to move in a way that throws off other people.

BR isn't overpowered.  It's just used the most because it's the gun that rewards skill.  No one should opt for an AR, because its retard-friendly skill gap promotes blindly running to your death.
