After being able to play the prologue and the first mission, my impressions are positive! Visceral managed to make (what looks like) a by the numbers experience and gave it character and life. The first half hour had more character development and interesting situations than the past 2 Battlefields combined.
Atleast in my opinion... Maybe this game can pull it off!

But it wasnt full on action, i doubt you played the game if you say so.
Jump scares aren't horror.
DS3 is significantly more of an action shooter than a horror game.
Compared to the first 2 yes. Its still a horror game although not as scary because of the environments.
Plus having fought necros for 2 games you become numb to the scare of em, so you have yourself to blame too if the game isnt scary.
That is true in the case of DS3. It was a case where its environments outshines the story it was trying to portray. The gameplay was great, but the overall creepy atmosphere was slipping away partly thanks to the constant monster closets.

Waffle House is perfection when it comes to Breakfast! None of that watered down stuff made out of site. They cook right in front of you!
Also they make the best Bacon and Hash Browns.

EA has had a cycle going over the past few years. Danger Close was responsible for making MoH, several CoC games, and of course the two Medal of Honor reboots. After Warfighter became the massive flop that it was, EA later shut them down. Mythic had a history of great games, until EA made them produce that horrid Dungeon Keeper Mobile. EA later shut them down.
Now the latest victim was Maxis, you know the guys who gave us the old Sim Cities and Sims games? It seems after the latest Sim City flopped hard, and after the subsidy of Maxis produced that bare bones Sims, they were promptly shut down.
Its a cycle of EA to buy out a dev, bleed them absolutely dry and then when they are given a project that will flop; they get the big axe.

Now, next week Visceral will release Battlefield Hardline. They have had a great history with Dead Space until EA stepped in with Dead Space 3 and all of its bull shit, and then they had them make that last Army of Two Devils Cartel which also flopped...
Now with Hardline, if this game flops harder than a dead fish--do you think EA will drive that final nail into the coffin and bury them alive?
