Finally got the game and have been hooked on it for the past few days now. Unless Bethesda can somehow get its shit together and pull another Morrowind out of it's ass with TES VI, I don't think there's any game that can even possibly challenge this for GOTY.
TES VI isn't coming out anytime soon, unfortunately.
Probably will within the next 2 years because we're already pretty overdue for another TES. I'm expecting a surprise announcement at E3 or the VGAs and then release a few months later like Bethesda has had a habit of doing lately. That being said, given Bethesda's trend of casualization since Oblivion, I don't think they're capable of making another TES that can live up to Morrowind.

Socialism is not a valid fix for the automation problem. Universal Basic Income is a meme. In this scenario it's like trying to put a band-aid on a massive, gaping wound, and then letting it fester. Sure, UBI will postpone the problem for maybe 10 years at most until the economy inevitably comes crashing down ten times harder than it did before because now nobody has jobs, the government is flat broke, and all the rich people have long since fled the country because they saw this shitstorm coming from a mile away. At which point the country is either going to go full Reich and try to offset the national debt by niggering resources from smaller countries and sending all it's jobless young men to go and fight in pointless wars, or it will face complete societal collapse and descend into Somalia levels of violence and anarchy.

So next week I'm getting a Switch so I can play BoTW. Have they fixed any of the issues from its initial release? And is there anything I should know before getting one? Getting a Wii U doesn't seem worth it to me because Nintendo is likely going to move it's DS platform to the Switch so I'd have to eventually get one anyway.

Chickens.
-Easy to feed (either pellet feed or food waste... not chicken products though, for obvious reasons)
-You can let them run wild in the day and lock-up at night (which they know to go back inside themselves)
-They lay EHGS, almost uncontrollably to a point where you'd get hives rather than giving the eggs away (or selling them)
-They kill rodents and pests. Chickens are the most vicious creatures I have encountered.
-Eggs are also a good indication of their general health. No eggs = old, ill, or dying.
-Best kept in groups, although frankly they don't seem to care too much.
-Funny to look at and watch, and you can get crazy breeds like this:
The only thing you have to watch out for is a cockeral which;
-Fucks bitches like no tomorrow, fertilises a tonne of eggs
-Those eggs are no longer edible
-Those eggs will hatch into more chickens, or worse...
-Cockerals are fiercely territorial and aggressive, will fight their sons and other cockerals unless separated.
-Does the sterotypical Cock-a-doodle-doo at any time, particularly in the AM.
So just don't get a Cockeral.
In fact, any farmed type of bird is a good idea for starters. Ducks are great too,just give them a pond to fuck around with in their field/enclosure.
You can also make tendies out of them which is a plus.
